    By far the most informative video I have seen for pontoon use from the undoing of the cover to your wife's sage words . , cleaning- cleaners, Bimini top, batteries, and etc.. thank you . This is actually just what I needed to see as my Suntracker FB 20 Dlx is FINALLY being built . I ordered it so long ago I actually almost gave up.. I was even starting to complain about the fees at my lake for a covered slip.. I have No complaints now lol. I was starting to regret having ordered the underpinning but this video makes me feel good about that order option, and thank you for reminding me to order a battery shut off switch from my dealer..great vid and keep em coming...Enjoy your lake downtime. Boat safely to all.

    Thank you so very much for your video. Were new to the Bennington family. Your video was incredibly informative! We just purchased our pontoon and are awaiting the dealer to complete its initial service. We are hoping to we will enjoy our first outing easter weekend. Your video has given me the fuel we need to enjoy our first boat.

    Great video enjoyed watching all of it learned a lot I had a 20-year-old pontoon that I never covered and just ordered a new one that I will be covering an uncovering on the weekends at the lake and was dreading it but now I remember what your wife said and it won't bother me at all doing it thanks a lot

      That's so good to hear about your cover. Seriously, my wife's comment completely transformed my outlook. Don't get me wrong... I wish I didn't have to do it. I would love a lift and a canopy cover, but I'm so happy I am blessed to afford a boat in a slip, the cover is part of the fun!

    Grab some foam pipe insulation for outdoor pipes and place it around that ladder rail. It'll save you from a lot of pain. I think getting shot might hurt less than banging your toe on a hard piece of metal.

    Where did you get your outboard cover as we are getting the same motor on our Bennington 20 SLV which hopefully we will have in about 1 week. It will be slipped and I like this idea so the sun doesn't beat it up while it sits! Thanks in advance and great video! Also what is the diameter of your fenders? Wondering where we will store ours as wanted to use the space you put yours as a cooler spot.

    • @authorizeduser9762
      @authorizeduser9762  Před rokem +1

      I bought the cover at www.partsvu.com. The fenders are Polyform G4 (6 1/2" diameter x 22" length) which we bought from our marina but you can find them anywhere online or at a marine store. We put our cooler behind the helm chair as we access it all the time. For us, under the helm is for stuff we don’t need to access often. Good luck with your new boat!

      @authorizeduser9762  Před rokem +1

      @@michaeldesimone8311 I got mine from my marina. They had a box of them on the shelf they sold individually. However, Bennington has a much, much better design out now. They are mounted right at the hinge and is a super smooth way of keeping the door open without the possibility of a toe stub. I was thinking about swapping mine out at some point. That's how cool they are.

    i find that I need 2 anchors to hold my Bennington in place. How do you manage it with one?

    • @authorizeduser9762
      @authorizeduser9762  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I anchor in a very shallow, sandy bottom lake. The navy anchor that you see in this video did not work that well in these conditions, particularly when windy. I wound up buying a Fortress 4 pound aluminum fluke/danforth anchor. That thing will hold my boat, and three additional boats tied to me, with no problem. Spend the $150 and get a Fortress fluke/danforth anchor. It's light as a feather and it holds like magic.

    • @mmaxon888
      @mmaxon888 Před 4 měsíci

      I'm on my 2nd seachoice $40 fluke style anchor. Digs in to any soft bottom and holds my 22' pontoon in any wind so far. I have a spike/stake to use from the boat's shallow end to keep it from swinging around in the breeze when we park in the "party cove."

    How did you secure your yeti sidekick?

    • @authorizeduser9762
      @authorizeduser9762  Před 13 dny

      I used two fender clips and hooked the Yeti on the rail. Basically, I used the clips to pinch/attach the Velcro on the Yeti's backside to the rail.

    • @sciondvr
      @sciondvr Před 13 dny

      @authorizeduser9762  Před 13 dny

      @@sciondvr I've had it for about three years and it's only been a handful of times that it's fallen. And it's always when I hit it by accident or rotate in my captain's chair that makes it come off. With normal operation it stays rock solid.

Not that I care anything about you to even mention this, but the 90 horsepower was the maximum allowed for the boat (27 mph is perfect for our needs); I rarely if ever have six people on it at a time; we do not do any water sports; and we anchor in 4 feet of beautiful, crystal clear water with a sandy bottom and have an awesome time with our friends.
