    This is very similar to the load development process that my uncle taught me 30 years ago. I've experimented with other methods, but keep coming back to his. It's very simple and effective.

    I am also using the same Satterllee method and have found it to be very good. Given the projectile availability issues I like how economical this method is.

    This video just popped up!..welcome back .. its important a man spends time at the shooting bench isnt it!..it helps focus and settle the mind..that in turn calms the soul..Doesnt it feel weird to realize you have been out of the game longer then you thought ....hahaha i drift in and out of the shooting world..when i come back it seems like its all changed..new powders..new guns..new cartridges new reloading tools and methods new technology...i haven't bought factory ammo in over 32yrs. Other then rimfire..
    I come back to shooting and reloading when i run out of ammo....when i look back...ive done the most load development and shooting when i am living good...or maybe im living good because i take the time to shoot..
    Humm. Something for a man to consider..
    Nice video bro..
    Safe shooting to ya

    30.5 might be a good spot to try if your getting pressure signs around 32. Slower is also sometimes more accurate. We did kind of the same thing doing a ladder test with 6x47L also using Varget and CCI 450 primers. Ended up at 34.8gr 2970fps SD 5 and consistent 3 shot groups at .2" with a best at .070" using "cheap" Hornady 105gr BTHP.

    Only part of Satterley method you need a target for is seating depth confirmation. Finding the node you can just shoot into a dirt berm, the group while testing the powder charges means nothing to the final result. Satterley has also refined this method to seating depth test with your base charge to find best seating depth for that projectile, then do node confirmation. Personally I still do node first then seating depth only if I need to.

    • @GarrettHamilton
      @GarrettHamilton Před 7 měsíci

      @GarrettHamilton Před 7 měsíci

      Have been very happy with it. Never has let me down. Currently shooting the 107 Sierra's from it with Varget and it's been loving those. Have about 500-600rd down it now. I reccomend this same setup for the money, sans the stock. You could get a cheaper stock option and save some money but the other combo is hard to beat

      I can’t say 6mm creedmoor because we don’t have one. But my vote would go for the 22-250 just for the sake of lower recoil and ammo cost/availability.
