Not much 300wm content out there since the 300prc came out. Thanks for the content. The 300wm isnt one to be underestimated. It can still get the job done with authority. I will admit your tikka is a pretty damn sweet rifle and still looks better than a lot of other rifles being put out today.
@@gunboom Ohh i agree, had a 300prc in my hands, went with the 300wm. Still has more plateforms, ammo selection, better price, ect, ect. Just saying it sounds more powerful, and if handloaded and the throat opend up it will beat the prc..
Have a t3 supervarmint in 300wm with a Burris Eliminator scope. 3inch groups at 600yds with Remington corelokt 150gr off the bench. Absolutely my favorite rifle
Wow what a shot and practice is everything and you showed that. My dad owns a 300wsm same gun configuration and he loves it. Congrats and thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
300 Win. Mag. is very versatile. Especially in North America. My buddy just built one with a Kelbly Nanook action, Bartlien 30" barrel, custom trigger, custom reamer, Manners stock, NiteForce scope and mounts, custom break. Lapua brass, Viht. 570, Berger 215gr lit with Federal GM Match primers at 3200 give or take. His son shot this rifle for the 4th or 5th time at 720 yards producing a 1¼" group. I watched the video. First 2 were on top of each other. Dad says son no pressure but this is one of the best groups lve seen shot here😅. Third shot after pausing is just off by a small margin making 1¼ inch. This on a high ridge where wind is unruly often. Its been a banger from day one. He has taken 6 or 7 deer with it. 2 at the 720 yard gong. It is where he hunts. This year a nice 8 point at 179 yards put over 4,000 fpe at that. He said it didn't flinch. I have owned 300 W.M. but being full of shrapnel up and down my spine with banged up makes recoil unpleasant. Excellent shooting in the video. Keep'em coming!
3 cheers for the .300 WM. I personally know someone who has used his .300 WM to get an Aoudad Sheep. As well as deer. I think the important thing is impact velocity. A hunter might succeed with as low as 1500 to 1800 fps at impact to get the game tip to petal out. But if we stick to 2000 fps to ensure that, then the faster rounds make more sense. So, yeah, able to take this shot with a .300 WM with a guy such as our host who spends so much time shooting smaller targets at that distance and more is going to have a far better effect than if he was shooting a 150 gr in .308. I love .308 and have some. And they are going to be best at less than 400 yards with the 165 gr hunting tip that I use. My 7 PRC, however, is so flat shooting, it's going to not require much elevation. The 175 gr ELD-X is 3000 fps at the muzzle and is still above 2k fps at 750 yards, which is farther than I intend to shoot. So, yeah, magnum rounds can do great things whether it s .300 WM , 7 RM, or 7 PRC (standard long action magnum.) My only problem is that public land is all I have. Too many people, not enough deer.
I've just bought a Tikka t3x strata 300wm, should have it next week! It's been a while between videos but you definitely didn't disappoint with this one!! Nice shooting 👌💥💥
I’ve got a t3x superlite in 300wm. Previously I was shooting 200 grain eldx but I haven’t been as impressed with eld-x performance as of late. I was able to snag some black hills 180 grain with the sierra game changer bullets. Looking forward to getting some range time with them and using them next season
I owned a 300 short mag once and I didn't really care for it that much because it did so much damage to the meat. The regular 300 Winn Mag I had before owning the short mag was better I thought. Should've just kept it, but much like my the 6.5 thought I had to have one. Now I'm back to my aught6 and my 45-70.
hey brotha chiuck. very cool n great vid , a great alternative to that is a 220 swift or ..22/.250 , def. wanna talk more, only have email here bro, keep em coming n talk soon > tom !
Cheers from Montana! 300 win mag is a great round! Glad to see a video! Been following since the beginning! Need more chuck videos!

Don’t pick on the 300 prc
You mentioned and you making it more famous
@@OUTDOORSACCURACY My bad.... Cant have a better version of the 300 get out, might not ever see the wm again 😁
@@LongtrailsideI'll take the 300WM over any of the Manbun PRC rounds.

That bullet trace never fails to look good on camera. Those Tikka folks know how to make a barrel. Glad to see you putting up some vids.

I just bought a Bergara Ridge in 300 PRC. I'm looking forward to get it set up and working.
Nice to see y’all put out another good video it’s been a while
Was just looking at your channel a few days ago. Seen you haven't posted in a bit, glad to see a new video!

Is that an aftermarket stock on the Tikka? If so what is that?
Bell and Carlson
I might of missed it. But are you running handloads or factory ammo?!
No handloaded 178gr amax
@@ChuckinTV yes sir! I’m looking into reloading. That handload of yours definitely puts the hammer down!

1200 yards
umm 🤔
23 feet of drop at 1000 yards, hardly a laser
@@pnwdweler4100 right?😂 Nothing is a laser out that far.

Shouldn’t be any difference, they both can shoot the same bullet and nearly identical ballistics.
Have you looked into 7mm rem?
500 yards ??? Learn to stalk
