    I recently purchased a Seekins Havak Element in 6.5 Creedmoor.
    On its maiden voyage to the range I brought along five different boxes of ammunition.
    The best of the group was Federal Non-Typical 140 grain soft point. With this I was able to shoot a .403 group.
    Second best was Hornady Whitetail Hunter 129 grain. With this I was able to shoot a .719 group.
    Hornady Precision Hunter 143 grain and Federal Fusion 140 grain both shot sub-MOA groups.
    The worst of the lot was Winchester solid copper 125 grain which impacted in a circular pattern about 6 inches in diameter. I fired six rounds and it looked like a shotgun was used.
    Hopefully the Winchester will work in another Creedmoor chambered rifle.

    I had a Havak in a 6.5 creed it shot a whole lot tighter group deffinately had a particular ammo it was the happiest with hopefully you can get er shooting tighter...I'm now shooting a Fierce but I did like the Havak for a production rifle it is pretty awesome

    I acquird the Seekins Havak in 300wm. At 300, and I am a BRAND NEW rifleman myself, it shoots .75-1.0 MOA at 300 yards. I shot 28 rounds through it and my 29th was a bull elk at 309 yards and it dropped it like a bag of stones. I took it to the range to shoot with a buddy after my hunt and she shot like a dream. I look forward to going to a range that lets me stretch her legs out to at least 625 yards so I can test it there.

    Turns out my rails and rings, although branded differently, were actually milled/engineered by Seekins also. I topped my rig off with
    Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm FireDot Duplex Scope

    I have the same rifle same caliber with a NXS 5.5-22 on it I shot 40 rounds and had to send it back would not group better then 2” they looked it over and did sum tweaking and got a message today that it’s shooting .6 groups consistently now with factory ammo

    Hey that’s a sharp rifle. I’m sure after you finish break in and maybe tweak you load a bit that’s gonna be a very nice shooter. Great having a rifle that just performs the way you want it ,looking forward to seeing your finished piece.Ya gotta love it when with every shot your confidence level with the rifle just keeps going up and up ,plus that’s a very impressive round definitely no slouch . Congrats and stay healthy .I really enjoy watching you guys and look forward to every episode.

    It’s the best bang for your buck rifle you can buy. 1k less than a proof rifle that uses and origin action and tt trigger. I had a havak bravo when they came out in a prc and I could shoot rite at 1” at 430 yards with factory 147 eldm. I have all custom rifles but if I was gana buy a factory gun to hunt with it would definitely be the ph2. Happy shooting guys!

    I still have my savage ultralite 6.5cm it shoots great. However, I like the action of my ruger go wild in 7mm-08. It shoots just as well and other drop anything they are aimed at. Deer,hog etc

    I wonder how accurate it would be if you didn't lift your head between shots. I appreciate your review of the build quality and the fact Seekins offers a satisfaction guarantee on the accuracy is better than most manufacturers.

      Garrett developed a different load with the 143gr eldx that shoots even better. When we get some more trigger time we might do an update review. But so far, we don’t have any reason to not recommend it

    Ya should have brought the 2020 waypoint. Just plain better rifle

  • @beamanofgoodcharacter
    @beamanofgoodcharacter Před 7 měsíci

    It is a very nice looking rifle, but the street price is too high in my opinion. The Bergara B14 Crest's street price is at least $400 cheaper than this one. Yes, the Bergara has an inferior action, trigger, and barrel compared to this one, but it is not a $400 lesser rifle in terms of quality. Bergara's stock is better than the Seekins PH2's and it most likely shoots better groups than that one.
    Springfield 2020 Waypoint is right at that price range if you get the steel barrel version and fixed comp. The 2020 Waypoint is a really good rifle. Sako S20's street price is about $750 cheaper that this one as well. Yes, the S20 is a bit heavier compared to the PH2, but it is an overall a better rifle.
    In my opinion, PH2 is one of the best looking hunting rifle on the market that uses high quality parts, yet it is pricey and they use proprietary stuff.

    Great rifle. How is the weight compared to Ultra light?

    • @ChuckinTV
      @ChuckinTV  Před 2 lety

      According to the mfgs' websites, this Havak PH2 is 7.2lb naked vs the UltraLite coming in at 6lbs naked. So the Seekins is a bit heavier, but is still fairly light for a semi tactical style rifle.

  • @cavedweller1959
    @cavedweller1959 Před 2 lety

    Get a hundred rounds through it & find the ammo sweet spot, that will be every rifleman's dream shooter. How's the weight, made to hunt with boots on the ground, or in a blind?

    • @ChuckinTV
      @ChuckinTV  Před 2 lety

      I don't have an exact weight, but I'd guess it's maybe around 7.5lbs with the scope. It balances really nice too. So it ain't a paper weight.

    Buying rifles these days, what they cost, and how some barrels are made - bore scope, especially from Savage. Bore scopes don't cost that much - TESLONG BORE SCOPE from Amazon is priced at @$139.99, cheap. Crappy Savage barrel chattering (deep)marks throughout the barrel, the worse I ever saw.

      There wasn't much to dislike about the Ultra Lite. Garrett just sold it and had the money to get this instead. Sometimes we just like to try different guns and since we buy everything you see on this channel, we gotta sell some stuff to do it.

      I think it goes rifle to rifle. I have a Browning hells canyon speed. It was my first Browning. And it will be my last. After a year of trying every ammo under the sun, it's at a custom shop having a Brux barrel installed. That being said, I have friends that own Browning rifles that shoot lights out.
