Big Afros, handlebar mustaches, but most of all? No bullshit, just real raw killer funky perfection!
One of the best, and most underrated, bands of the 20th century.
You got that straight .........Jack !
Harold Brown on drums. One of a kind.

What an iconic song! Opening song for Cheech And Chong’s “Up In Smoke”.
In 1975 when this song Low Rider came out I was only 12 years old. It was my favorite song as a kid and still is to this day . Now I’m 59 . In my late 20’s I bought a 69 Chevy impala and lowered it and put in a 5000 watt stereo system and went cruising in it , I was 30 . I bet you can’t guess what song I played while cruising , that’s right , Low rider of course . The group War is the only war I like. Thanks War for a grate child hood , love your music.
I was 13 and I loved this song . Cheech and Chong had a bit to do with it lo
😍
Listen to "Four Cornered Room" My favorite aside from Low Rider/Cisco Kid of course.
👏🏾
So happy for you! 😊
Charles Miller blowing on this one. Loved the fact that more than one got to lead th singing on their hits. Might feature some War on the weekly rap up tomorrow night!
Saw them in 1972 at Reeds Arena in Youngstown, Ohio. ❤❤
ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME
Such an amazingly talented band. This takes me back to a less complicated time and a happier place.

Love this band! Three originals are still playing together as 'The Lowrider Band'
That's a wild funk timing progression on Cisco Kid 😎
I love the way they know they’re bad asses and also how they enjoy PLAYING their funky anthems, great post
Love that voice.
My parents are huge fans of WAR. I grew up hearing their music all the time ever since I was baby. Their music was engrained in my soul. I have so much respect for them. Seeing them live with my parents at the L.A. County Fair is a memory I’ll always remember.
I love these 2 songs and listening to them together is awesome. Great band, great talented and real musicians.
Yes I remember the singing group WAR and I love all of their songs🔊🎤🎤🎹🎶🎵
Love it! What a bass groove.
I saw them in concert in the 70's at Hammersmith Odeon, London, England. Great concert.
Such a cool sound! Wish I had the chance to see them in the day but still grovin to the sound in 2022!
They are still playing O saw them doing a tiny concert on in a van, absolutely PERFECT 😂🎉❤
Love it! In the 70's was working a factory in jersey. My friend Jose lived in NY in the Bronx. We was listening to this song on break. He told me, steel in the following sentence means motor cycle, and the Fort is where the Outlaws had a clubhouse. Jose knew the ''Street view" of the music of the times, tough SOAB! here is the sentence means motor cycle probably a Harley. "They rode the sunset, horse was made of steel".
Yeah I’m 67 I remember these guys they were amazing
GOLD,dis the first time I seen a live performance of"Low Rider."I've seen The Midnight special live performance of"Cisco kid."

Phenomenal live band. I saw them at the Varsity theater in Baton Rouge in the 90s. Most of the original lineup. Great musicianship
Saw them live in Aug 1974. Did both these tunes. Low Rider had not yet been released.
Up in Smoke !!
War came to my ears as a child through K-Tel compilation records, and has echoed through my life eve since. Why can’t we be friends?
Ha ha... If you remember k-tel you remember Columbia house. Buy 3 get 10 free. We use to fill it out and keep it in our pocket as a playlist
Loved their sound, the true Wall of Sound.
Thanks for years of your time and effort. Greatly appreciated guys.
I was a senior in high school when this album came out. A lot of memories. Along with All Day Music
The first time I heard this was on the Electric Company in the early 70s. I’ve been a war lover since then
I really LOVE playing my instruments knowing you taught me how. Wishing and wondering and my dreams came true thanks for every note!
I was hoping for a good copy of a live "Lowrider" performance by the original group. Good job, Reelin'!
The coolest song ever written.

I absolutely LOVE Low Rider!!
Saw them live at a county fair. The bass lines were pre-recorded, but a good performance. I see the keyboard player throwing in some jazz cords.
Saw War a few years back, Grand Funk opened w/o Farner. I wore knee length black leather flat heeled boots, danced~stomped all night feet were so sore the next day. What a fantastic night~memory! Love this funk band!! 😅
The Cisco Kid was a friend of mine.
Wow Wow!
Blasting this at full volume while eating salted peanuts out the can
Amazing drumwork intro of Cisco Kid.
Thee enthusiasm is without question.
My first concert I won the tickets from the newspaper station. I wasn’t old enough to drive out to Pine Knob ; thanks dad my guy always. Three acts local funk group Parliment, WAR, EWF. They killed it I bought every album they put out WAR LIVE…Slipping into Darkness. I was 15 and my younger brother was 14. We still reminisce about that night.

One of the first things I would do when my boyfriend picked me up for a date was popping in an 8track of WAR. GOOD TIMES. 😎😊
This is one of the best Live performances I have ever seen!
I would have loved to have been there.
A legit and hot selling pop, r&b, funk band, with a clarinet blowin' on the live set of Cisco Kid. Love it!
Lee Oscar, was my favorite
Saw them at the Newport Jazz Festival at Shea Stadium - '78 or '79 - best guess...
When I need some funk, I always wind up listening to this amazing band. I love me some funk. It lifts me up. Peace to the band members, present and past.
saw them thirty years ago, they were amazing
The World is a Ghetto was a great album. Classic.
Best selling album of 1973, bigger than anything by the Who, Stones, Zep, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor or any of the solo Beatles. It was BIG.
Nice 🙂🎵🎧🎤🎶
Immediately in my head, I see the opening scene to Up in Smoke!
I saw WAR on Oct 22, 1977 at Dallas Convention Center. Since the KZEW logo is displayed on the stage backdrop, I wonder if that is the concert I attended !?!?! (KZEW was a local Dallas radio station back then).
Behold the OG KZEW logo behind the stage!
Yea I lived those days. Survived
Rocks!
On the radio, chech and Chong, gone in 60 seconds. Hell today on fox and friends. Full circle. Love it
Fox and friends brought me here.

Sus presentaciones aun más electrificantes que sus grabaciones en estudio. War, la unica guerra que queremos.
