- A 1974 Rare Earth performance of, “Hey, Big Brother” put to their top-ten hit, and my favorite by them, “Get Ready.”
Edited clips dubbed with a remix of the track from their album, “Get Ready” (1969). - Zábava

Nah..you cant ever be alone with this still being viable..believers live on..🇨🇦
yes you are🤣
nope, ya not... here we all are .. rocking out together
Your not alone!
Wrong. I love this band. I dragged two of my best friends to see this band in 85 they are still thanking me today
Now this is REAL MUSIC. , not like a lot of the pure garbage that passes for music today. What a band. I could listen to this all day.
One of the Best Bands ever and the 1st all White Band ever signed to MOTOWN RECORDS.
True, Rare Earth (the label) was a subsidiary of Motown. This song was written by the great Smokey Robinson.
@@psytranscienceYes and it was a huge hit for the Temptations band
I absolutely wore out a Rare Earth Live 8 track. Played it in my car as loud as I possibly could!
I did the same, only to have it stolen along with my car 8 track player!
@@robertungerbuehler9076 i didn't stole it 😅
The tambourine makes this version of this song ! Plus the drummer sings it ! Good stuff right there my son !
Rare Earth the first band saw in concert 1970. I'm still playing their music real Loud 2021!
Right on!
Thanks for commenting and thank you for watching (and my bad for the slow reply).

They will never go away
This is one of the most under rated songs in soul music ever.
I can never get enough of this song. I just love the Saxophone 🎷
"Get Ready" the long version, one of the greatest rock songs, ever!
66 and still can't sit still when I hear this song! ❤❤❤ Love Rare Earth!
That SAXOPHONE is just Brilliant. I love it. 👍👍👍
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this music back in my country 🇸🇻🇸🇻
I love this band
Rare Earth was indeed a rare and unique rock band especially with the drummer as the lead singer all the time.
Rare talent you don't see much today singing and playing the drums at the same time.
Damn what a sound. what a band.
That's the best sounding snare drum ever recorded.
Damm Sharp
One of Detroits best!! So underrated. Who could stand still while they played
Drummer could sing, stand up play drums, keep drums going until another drummer would sit in while hey sang and pumped up the crowd and go back to playing and just keep playing.
An excellent group............lucky that I got to see them..............they were great.
This group was great and inspired me to play drums, since hearing this cut back in 1969, I've been playing drums self taught since then with many different groups as back up. I have the original cut on vinyl and the drummers twenty minute solo, it's totally fantastic and I still love this song and group till this day. No one can top this cut!!!!!!
Percusion genial
Fantastic to hear! I love the drums too! When my son was a teen he had a garage band & played drums~sang. My older~youngest brother Richard, played drums in a garage band, I was their 11yrs young go~go dancer 🤭 💃 whew haha!
This is real badass music! Beats the shit out of this rap crap now a days !
Rap Sucks!
Esta si es música no basura la de ahora
Back in High School I went to a Steppenwolf concert. The lead in band was Rare Earth on their first big tour. They were amazing. So good they put Steppenwolf to shame.
Still have "I Just What To Celebrate " 45 I bought in 5th grade.
Great band.
O right now 1974 I was 12 years old what a time to live IAm now 62 😔
The best of the 1970’s
Singing and playing drums, that is BADASS.
Great band.
Can't get any better than this
Loved these guys!
Peter is an expert in getting the SNAP sound on the snare. you could get 100 drummers to fill in and it would not sound the same, his technique is a skill.
I agree,though it's more of
a really "cracky"rim shot
to me .Used to play with
a drummer in Cleveland
that got that SAME
sound,no matter
what traps he
was playing.
His name-
Jeffrey Robinson.
@@robertgodhard3248 Hendrix song Red House on are you experienced only other song where I hear that. my drum friend Richard Pryor was amazed I knew of this, it was Hunt Sales who showed him. Hunt hit his snare, Richard what did you just do? he showed him. it is hard on the stick and hands I think, why most drummers choose not to do it.
I agree with you too. Most unique and he made his snare especially sound like it had a life of its own. Very skilled drummer and he lead the band in the same manner Danny Seraphine lead Chicago. I also loved the Zombies drummer on "Time of the Season".
I saw these guys in concert twice in the 1970s. Good Gawd Yall
Love your use of Y’all, I’m a southern lady and use it too! Yes! good golly you were so lucky to see the band live, I’m just a tad bit jelly, wow! 🤩
Great music that's 70's rock and roll
There was NEVER any band like Rare Earth. 💛💛💛
Un super grupo,,aunque subvalorado por la critica y la industria,mi favorito en mi juventud
Love Rare Earth, Peter Rivera's voice!!!!!
Back in the 70s I had Friend Girl .This song brings back Memories. Ralphie was her name.
A mis 66 años todavía la escucho a gran volumen, me recuerda mis años felices.
Took my son to see them and he stood there amazed, lol.
These guys are tight and out of sight.....
Groovy Baby!! 🎉
OH !! ITS OUTTA SIGHT ALRIGHT !!!!! CAN YOU DIG IT !!!
Good music stands the test of time and here we are get ready
Perfect mix of the temptations these guys jam ☮️ who's listening in 2023

@@brendacarson-ch7gbSong was written by Smokey Robinson, the Temps recorded it in ‘66 Twas a huge hit
Awesome Rare Earth!!!!! Got this Album!!! Takes me back!!! I'm 69 still Rock n Roll!!!!!!!! Till Death!!!
Am 65. This is the Good time 🪴🌴
I loved this in '69 when it came out AND I'M STILL LOVIN' IT !!!
I was a competition roller skater. That was the song I use in my freestyle skiing, 1 tons of trophies.
My first concert was Rare Earth at a fair in Alabama. I was only ten but I was definitely digging it 🌸
What a voice!!! Man to die for. Real rock and roll, raw and powerful.
Rare Earth band was underestimated !!
Never!! 👎
Live is such a great all around album, I too still listen to it from when I bought it in 1975 or 76.
..when musicians played.. gorgeous score! how im fortunate to have experienced music then!
What a talented group. This was they're first hit in the late summer of 1970. They would have more! The unique voice belonged too the drummer! They were soulful!
He has to be the best singing drummer ever.
Thanks love this song! Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱😊👍
California jam 1974.. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, ELP ...
If this band doesn’t get you going Your definitely dead inside!!!!!!!!
Written by Smokey Robinson, “Get Ready” was first a hit for the Temptations, in 1966. Rare Earth, who were then known in and around Detroit as the Sunliners, added the song to their concert setlist that same year.
Those of us born in 1961 were so blessed to have all of the greatest music to look forward to in our lives.
Nope those of use in the late 40s like me got the best of all,of it! My son gets jealous at the amount of music I know! I can tell him whose sing it on his radio! Lol,blows him away! One fact that’s true is that at this moment, there’s no band groups that can play like these guys, Chicago, ELP, RareEarth, Bozz , Todays music rather sux
Teen club dances circa 1969 to 73 always featured this song and of course, the Grassroots temptation eyes! Good times.
Thanks for posting this. I know it’s not perfect but it’s the best I’ve seen so far. Wish someone would post the real thing!
Saw them in 69 at an outdoor concert and man they rocked. Everyone did. Maybe, all the clean, sweet, substance floating around had something to do with the enjoyment level.
I grew up with them, always loved the singer's voice.
Good trip music!
I use to listen to this in my black room...with 4 speakers with backlights and all....and a 4 way hit of orange sunshine!
Saw them in South Bend, IN on 3/31/74 and the opening act was Mr. Rory Gallagher. The drummer was my friend’s cousin. Great night.
Not familiar with Rare Earth but this production is worthy of my attention ft
That rainbow has a whole new meaning today!!
Came out in the summer of 70 and lasted through the fall. The first of several distinctive Rare Earth songs!
Never forget this musical masterwork. My mum used to danse over and ever again with with my my dad's best friend ( only friends).
Saw Rare Earth at Madison Square Gaden in 1972 great show
Rare Earth Rocks the joint!!
Critical a holes- great tune. Sing while drumming- badass
One of my favorite songs
❤I was singing their songs when I was nine years old. Can’t get enough.
This band is amazing!! Wish I could have seen them back in the day but I was to darn young!!
Love, love rare earth!! They are so underrated. At least Detroit appreciated rare earth
Not underrated at all, they were huge!
To the youths of today
Those where the days!
AWESOME PERFORMANCE 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My sister found this album, she didn't like it, gave it to me, I played the grooves out of it, Rare Earth was my first rock concert I enjoyed every minute
ROCK N ROLL RARE EARTH KEEPNPN TRUCKIN FOREVER!!!! Started rocking at 15 now 68😊😂❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
With you buddy at 74. This is the real stuff! Keep on moving.
I was lucky enough to see and hear them live in concert in early 70s New Orleans LA. They did that song so well just like the record. THANKS !!!
Qué, genial este tema. Me traslada a la epoca de mi juventud, por allá, por los 70.Hoy a mis 65,pura nostalgia de un tiempo qué se fue, escuchando a estas grandes bandas a mis 16 en esa época. Saludos desde Chile.
Didn't realize the drummer was the singer on this song. Drumming and singing is a talent. Love the snare drum sound.
The drummer was a friend's cousin. We saw them up close in South Bend, IN. He threw out several pairs of drumsticks throughout the night. I was a fan ever since, March 31, 1974, Notre Dame with Cory Gallagher.
Pete Rivera aka Peter Hoorelbeke, wasn’t he fantastic drumming and what a great voice too?
This is the best intro ever! I know as a kid since it came out
70s forever ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I use to put this on before a football game. It got me fired up. Long time ago when I could kick ass.
Their sound was incredibly powerful.
The best part in these music that there was no swearing or tattoos.!
If it was a grateful Dead concert their would be plenty of tatoos
We don’t really care, yawn.
Memories… some great tunes… a teen in those great sixties and early seventies…the era of the BEST, the GREATEST MUSIC …
Yes absolutely
Those were the years! Giants!
That snare is the shit, lol, the whole kit's tune is just on.
Agree & Peter Rivera’s sexy lead vocal WHEW!! 🎉
Love the sound of those drums!
The first concert that I ever went to was in Williamsport Pa.. It was the best of times.
This was back in the good old days when it cost you for $5 to get a ticket to go to a concert I live through all these days I saw Grand funk railroad for $5 I saw deep purple well it was $6 and we were paying$2.50 for a vinyl a real vinyl album and $5.50 to $8 for a double album this is back in the good old days when they had long guitar solos long drum solos and everybody enjoyed them cuz it just showed the talent of the artist I got to see Ritchie Blackmore with his blazing fingers but so long for those good old days and I'm really glad that I got to see Jeff Beck back in those good days with Carmine and Tim bogert🎸🎤🎶👍👊
Groovy man!
45 AÑOS ESCUCHANDO ESTA BANDA GRANDE RARE EARTH...DESDE CHILE
It's all relative. Today's youth, in time, will revel in memories of their music just as we oldsters do here. 🤙😎✌
But they don't have musicians that can rock or play like the musicians back in my era.
You must be younger than your picture, cause you know nothing of the greatest era in musical history, too bad !!
@@jimcurry7983 I've seen some the greatest bands of my era, I've Led Zeppelin, Emerson Lake Palmer, Uriah Heap, The Who, Styx, Peter Frampton, Boston, Rare Earth, and alot more of the great bands of my era. I'm 63.
That band is off the hook✌👍🏻✌
One of the best live bands I have seen and I have been to rock concerts my entire life!
Lief in der Duesseldorfer grossen Disco auf der Koe in der long Version in den 70ern war total begeistert einfach nur Großartig 😊🎉
Listening in Quezon City, Philippines.
Great band. To sing and play drums, just pure talent.
Well done mate with such a great music unrepeatable.
Real music from real musicians. None of that
synthesized junk. Real!!!! Live!!! you dont see much of that today
And this kids is when real musicians made real music in their Band....
