My late wife played alto sax in a local funk/blues band. This was their opening song. She adored Candy, and did her best to emulate her. She was damn near as good. Had she lived a few more years, she'd probably have been at Candy's level.

Trumpet is on FIRE!. and Candy...WOOW!. The drummer is incredible also. Whenever I feel depressed, I watch this video and it picks up the pieces. What a great band!
I don't know that I've ever seen another saxophone/drummer solo. The interplay and the way they pushed/pulled against each other is fantastic. Candy Dulfer Rocks!!!

Candy Dulfer, Chance Howard on keyboard, Kirk Johnson on drums...all hired by Prince and played with him several years. Kirk was his enabling friend, had been for over 30 years...and was with him up until and including the night he died...knows more than he'll ever admit to. Love Candy and Chance! Great musicians! Probably the most electric piece I've seen of Candy on CZcams. Talk about energy. Kirk Johnson must have sweated off a pound or more. He and Chance really add to this video. Saw Candy about a year back, and she put on a great show. If you get the opportunity, go see her in concert. You're sure to enjoy!

Wow, I saw a lot of dead souls out there in the audience I don't even think they even know what they're listening to or where they were even at it's kind of amazing just to see them just sit there like rocks no clapping no nothing just a bunch of dead souls I don't even know where they're at I don't they don't know anything about music or nothing and it seems like candy was trying to uplift her people to give them get them in the groove but soulless that's what I see when I look into the audience check it out for yourself.
