In the same boat- the latest model year I have is an 08. After letting it beat the piss out of me year in and year out, I've decided that this is the year I'm getting a new sled. Still gonna keep my older sleds for fun and local riding, but longer rides are gonna be on a Sidewinder.
Hey man I don’t know where you are but there’s a place in Vermont you should try for stuff. Al’s used snowmobile parts. They buy wrecked salvage sleds from insurance companies and tear them down. You can find almost anything across the board. Call em up they’ll send whatever to you.
What a deal on that bad boy heck ya man now you just want to throw a pro x piston kit and gasket kit then find a set of vforce 3 reeds , header,pipe,and can and a clutch kit and your all set!!
Bummer. Just finished my old 05 900 rmk top end this weekend. The person who claimed it was "rebuilt" had done a halfass one and reused the head o-rings and cylinder gaskets. It developed a coolant leak at the bottom of the jug gasket and smoked the piston on the clutch side. I don't know if I'd want a newer polaris after all the engine trouble people had with the iq and newer sleds.

I also just got a Pro RMK, I love it so far except I've been having a low end bog when riding at high elevation, it almost sounds like it hits limiter like In reverse. I've been active in forums but you know the most bout Polaris machines than anybody i can think of, would you mind taking a guess as to what the issue may be? So far ive tried over compensating with lighter clutch weights and replaced the tmap sensor. Also there is no check engine light. Heres a video of the bog. czcams.com/video/pEzBTrRhSE0/video.html
You absolutely can. Read through a service manual one day, lots of good info. Anytime pistons or rings are replaced, the cylinder needs to be honed to deglaze the bore.
where is that watercraft triple you were building? put it in that chassis it would be a great project

Thinking about purchasing 2013 Assault Access 800 with 5k on it. It will be my first fuel injected sled. Not sure what to expect with this chassis.

Also don't do the fix it kit just put stock pistons in it, on these motors you have to do a top end every 1000 miles.

If i was in your situation i would try to find a used axys 800 crank for it. Less rotating weight and it's a direct swap.
