  • I almost wrote this machine off as a connecting rod that had failed. When I double checked to confirm my diagnoses i saw something else! The nut/flywheel/shredder had loosened up. I rarely do this but to hold the flywheel/shredder blade on I put a piece if spark plug wire that was looped in the spark plug hole and used an impact wrench to secure the nut. Its been a week and so far so good. Just thinking outside the box a little on this one. Almost 2K subs. My boys laffed at my first video nearly 2 years ago. Ha! Jake and Luke!

Wow! Out of all the 2 cycle equipment I've worked on, I've never seen that before

@@ZombieDaveAZ Hello Dave I want to know if the crank shaft has a left hand thread or right hand thread to remove the flywheel

Hey Mike, the flywheel will always come off in the same direction that it is traveling when it is working. Same with centrifugal clutches. I hope that helps. 👍

Smart buyers choose Stihl. Echo is cheap consumer grade garbage that's engineered to fail. A lot of their flywheels are interchangeable. I had a customers chainsaw that did the same thing, and I used a flywheel from one of their curved shaft trimmers, off my junkpile.

I use various brands including Stihl, however as you say Echo being a consumer brand and is "garbage".
Well I beg to differ with you on that, so as the dumb buyer I purchased the Echo ES250 blower in 2012 and the Echo SRM260 back in 2008 and both are still running strong and I have five acres to look after. Each to his own opinion though.
