Just found your channel Vicky as just brought a big shot fold away and you popped up with your vide. Thank you as it has now given me the courage to give it a go.
I thank you so so much for your video because it has relieved a lot of stress and anxiety due to the fact that I just ordered the regular Big Shot not even realizing that there was a foldaway big shot because I am kind of new to crafting but then I had to quickly do some research so that I could determine if the big shot foldaway was exactly the same as the regular one and yes you have answered my questions and now I I am about to order the big shot foldaway and I will be sending the regular big shot back once it arrives. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!👏👍😉❤
Outstanding Presentation Vicky......Great idea that it now folds up taking up less real estate when not in use.
Thanks for your share!! YOU so ROCK!!
Joan Smith
I have the pink/black Big Shot and I LOVE it. I won't replace it until mine is no longer usable. It's nice to know there's a great replacement if and when the time comes. TYFS...GREAT demo!!! 😊
This was wonderful demonstration Vicky. Very thorough and easy to understand.
I'm glad to see that there are more smaller footprint die cutting machines!!! I ended up getting the evolution advanced a year or so ago, mainly chose it for the smaller size. Thank you for sharing this, it is really nice to see what is new in the die cutting world without having to get everything that comes out. ;)
I know what's going on my Christmas wish list. Thank you for the great unveiling. It was very informative.
Hi Vicky, this is great for carrying on retreats and vacation. I which my Big Shot, now 2 years old, had come with the accessories. That's great!
Thanks so much for this preview of the new Big Shot! I love the fold-away design!! I still use my Cuttlebug but have thought of going to a Big Shot. Now I'm glad I've waited!! 😊
I have the big kick machine and it shows its age on the outside but still does a dynamic job of die cutting but just like a few other people on here, the fact that it can fold away is making me want to put it on my Christmas list! I also like the added storage in the flaps.
This is very nice. I love how this saves space. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for a great video. I love, love the foldaway big shot, so much smaller than my aqua one. I will be buying this soon 😊
Thank you Vicky. I've just purchased one of these and your video really helped me to see how it will work and what it can do 😁😁
Even though my Big Shot is fairly new, I LOVE how compact this is! Thank you for showing it!
Smart of Sizzix to go this route. I have both a Cuttlebug & a Big Shot , & am happy with both. Thanks for the review, Vicky.
Great demo. Thank you.
This is great Vicky. Would love one of these when I am in need of a new one. TFS!
It is a wonderful tool that is now easier to store and keep little tools handy. WOW
Thanks for the review Vicky! I'm happy with my Big Shot but I do think it's a great idea that Sizzix came out with a more compact designed machine....just gives customers another option. TFS Vicky!
Looks like a great machine and how great that it's compact! TFS!
I have a Cuttlebug and it serves me well. I do love the foldaway little Bigshot because of the storage holders. I am forever searching for my washi tape when I want to do some die cutting and it will be great to have that storage.
Loved this Tutorial .... Thanks Vicky for sharing and explaining so well. xx K London UK
I love this Vicky! It's great for taking to crops and things! Much more portable!
great to have a new big shot - great review. thank you
Ahh thanks for this I was considering replacing my Cuttlebug with a regular Big Shot, but maybe I will get this foldaway instead.
It's about time Sizzix made a fold up machine! I was never interested in the original large format Big Shot. I had a Cuttlebug for years and now have the hands free electronic Gemini machine.
Great review, many thanks....!
Love this! Can't wait to be able to order one! TFS!
What a great design..love this machine. I think I'll be upgrading my big shot machine soon. I hope they ship to Australia soon.
Thank you for your review! Great video!
Ah, how wonderful as I've just ordered this machine too and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival :)
It does remind me of the Cuttlebug but the handle on my Cuttlebug always gets in the way! I like that this one has a collapsible handle, not to mention the storage. These two things make it on my purchase list!
I need one. Perhaps this Christmas.
I love my bigshot. Would gladly replace my cuttlebug with this for crops. Thank you for the unboxing
What a great die cutting package
I had heard this was coming. Thanks for showing me how it works. I already have a Big Kick so won't be in the market for another machine for some time. It looks as if it is pretty nice.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful info...my order is on the way 😊☺️😊☺️
Great promo, Vicki!
I have the older model of the big shot and this one is so Cute.
I love this, but, not long ago I just purchased my first Big Shot! I do love it but I wish that it would have come with all of those extra's like this one does! I had a cuttlebug first but unfortunately it didn't last long at all before the suction on the bottom quit working and then it was hard to try to hold onto it while running dies through. So then I upgraded to the Big Shot. This new one looks very nice though. Love the size!
I just purchased a Big Shot and now I'm sorry I didn't know about this one. Oh well....thanks for sharing.
I love my Big Shot. It's perfect and it works great. But I am horribly challenged by the size of my craft room, and the fact this can be folded down so small is making me weep with desire. LOL
daboyzom1961, I'm weeping along with you! 😃💖
I agree. I think this will be on my Xmas list.
I have been wanting a Big Shot for a while now. I got a Texture Boutique last year, but I've been wanting the dies. This would be awesome! And I would love to be able to make pillow boxes!!
It is fantasic for use a long trip. THANKS! to share
Recently had several power outages that meant I couldn't use my Vagabond. So this would be a great little alternative in those situations. Thanks!
I want this! I craft at my desk a lot and my regular big shot is just too big on my desk. I'd love to fold it and set it next to my desk!
Thank you 😊 so much for sharing
For any Aussies watching this, just found this in our Spotlight store down the road. Not cheap but as a retiree I don't mind treating myself for Christmas 😊😊 As long as it's not too hard to turn? But at least I can return it if so.
Thank you
Always enjoy your videos Do you know when this will be available in the U.S.?
Love it.
Love it! I have the big shot plus. It's big! Doesn't fold. I have a Accuquilt that is huge but folds away. Accuquilt use for cutting fabric n big shot plus for paper crafting. But I've been thinking about selling big shot plus and buying a smaller version. I've used my big shot plus probably 5-10 times. I do like that option for having so much room on the big shot plus and can load up a bunch of dies and use all dies, famelits and think it's with the big shot plus. Maybe keep it and just but the small version for quick use. TFS! Very nice.
Terrific review! I love that it folds up for sure and the storage area is great when traveling! I also LOVE all the goodies that come with it! A paper pad with matching fabric and wool felt! Wow! I was wondering (maybe you mentioned it in the video and I didn't hear you :) lol ) does it weigh the same as the original? Thank you for the great review/video :)
Nice solution for people with a small craftroom or for people like me who has to craft on the diner table.
awesome update thank you for sharing have a blessed day
Hmmm, just might have to invest in this one. Thanks for the video.
I'm in the market for my very first die cut machine and after many research videos have decided on the big shot. Now I'm wondering whether original or this one. I don't have a lot of space so as long as it's just as sturdy I'll do this. It depends on which is cheaper. Thanks, Vicky!
Hmm, thanks Vicky, this is the same design as my Cuttlebug by Cricut, one major difference looks to be the size.
Love thw video, love the new Big Shot but alas I have just bougt the big shot, also bought the Vagabond, and even have cridicut that I have never taken out of the box. I just I am going to suck it up and not rush ut to buy the new mchine. Love the fact it folds up, and even has the storage space. Oh well!!! Will just have to watch you using it in your videos, (sigh)!!
When I purchased my Big Shot it didnt come with anything! It is nice to know you got a few things with your fold up Sizzix!
Vicky is the opening biger than a cuttlebug i a have looking for a big shot and this looks good but it must cut biger paper than the cuttlebug ibmske 5x7 cards or biger
Thanks for the un boxing. But I cringed when you ran the new cutting plate through. I hated to see it get that first impression in it. LOL. I use mine until they warp from being run through the machine. Thanks again. And welcome to September.
I am anxious to see if it is just as stable as the regular Big Shot which has feet all the way around. It reminds me of the Cuttlebug. Thanks for all your videos, I watch every one of them. (Nine Mile Falls, Washington, USA)
This will be a great birthday gift for my self my b day is next week.
Where in the US can i get this
Lois
Thank you Vicky I think it's cute.....
I will seriously consider getting this when it's time to repalce my old reliable black Big Shot. My daughter has a Cuttlebug machine in mint green, which is seriously cute, and I was seduced by that until I used it to cut some dies the last time I visited her. It cuts just fine, but the suction base refused to hold on her wood table, which had a slight grain. The Cuttlefishbug apparently needs a perfectly smooth surface on which to secure the suction, so that is something to consider. The Foldaway seems to have a base the same size as the regular Big Shot (without the platform wings), so it will be steady without needing suction, which I aprpreciate. I also found the Cuttlebug slightly less easy to crank than my Big Shot, and it didn't seem to be quite as sturdy. I think the Cuttlebug is prettier, but the new Foldaway is attractive enough that, if it is as sturdy as my Big Shot, would be my preferred replacement machine. I also like the storage under the platform wings. I was surprised to see how much it holds. Thanks for this sneak peak, Vicky. You're a gem as always!
Hi! this was a good comparison. I'm debating between both, but sadly the Foldaway is not available in US. In terms of cutting material, would the bigshot and the cuttlebug cut the same thickness?
Several years ago when l was in the market for my first die-cutting machine l was leaning toward the Cuttlebug. My sister said l would be much more satisfied with the Big Shot & she sent me one for Christmas that year. I'm so glad she chose the Big Shot. I use it constantly & & it still works like brand new. I've only replaced the cutting plates. It is just like yours, Vicky, in that beautiful teal with the floral designs. No reason a great machine can't be beautiful, too, right. I think that Vagabond is so ugly. I hope my trustie Big Shot lasts forever, but if it does wear out one day l hope that by that time the new ones come in pretty colors. I'm silly that way, l guess. I just know l'll keep it forever because it is such a beauty. I just don't care for the black or gray & white ones. Surely it doesn't cost more to make them pretty! Thanks for a great review!
I'm like you, I just HAD to have that beautiful teal one, even though I already owned the black one in addition to a Cuttlebug! When I finally decided to purchase it, it was discontinued, and I searched high and low till I finally found one on EBay!
I have the Evolution Advanced of W are Memory Keeper and that has a similarity to mine. That is more compact and I like it more, I regret having bought it😢... Kisses...
The new one is very nice! I need one now xD
By the way are you gonna sell your old one?
Oh 😍😍😍
Vicky, have you seen or tried the electric Big Shot? It's like the vagabond by Tim Holtz. I would be interested in your opinion. Thanks for this video!
I was considering getting a big shot and like the foldaway much better. Will it become available in the states?
Does it cut the larger dies- A4 size - like the Spellbinders Grand Calibur?
Hey, it's kind of like the WeRMemoryKeepers Evolution Advance! I love my Sizzix big kick but I'm in the market for a new machine. I wish the Foldaway was available in the states.
Well, every model has to keep up! Its about time because the original one took up a huge footprint.
Es muy bonita, solo que ne gustaria mas grande de 8.5" , porque ya existe la Cuttebug de ese tamaño h buena calidad, espero que Sizzix o Cuttebug fabriquen una mas grande.
I had heard about this new machine a couple of weeks ago and knew it would not be available in the US at this time. It was interesting to actually see it in your video. I would definitely purchase it for its portability and small storage footprint if I didn't already have both a manual crank one and an electric one. If Sizzix desides to market it in the US it will be interesting to see what the retail price will be in comparison to the standard Sizzix machine. Thanks, Vicky.

I loved, I loved, I loved. ...
Did you make a pillow box eventually?
I have a Cuttlebug and Bigshot. I love them both, but take my Cuttlebug to crops because of the size. I think the Bigshot is sturdier and has a bit more pressure. I would love this newer version, but do not see any reason to spend more money for the newest version.
This new machine is great if you have limited storage....but working in a school, I will stick to my original indestructible metal one.
Hi.....do both have the same price or not? How much are they?
Very nice! I've used my Cuttlebug for years and love it because it takes up very little space. If I were ever in the market for a new machine, I would definitely consider this new Big Shot for the same reasons. I love that it folds up and takes up very little space. Thank you so much for sharing. Well Done.
I think it's cute but if I replace my Big Shot, I'm buying one with power so my carpel tunnel and arthritis don't hurt so much but I just vary what I do for any length of time. OR I'd get a scan & cut then I could get rid of all my dies.
I agree. Perhaps Sizzix could have spent the time and effort put into this machine on getting the electric Big Shot into stores that was advertised at CHA back in Jan. Every store says it is on backorder.
Thanks for the review. Years ago when I first started crafting, I considered the Cuttlebug because of the compactness but went with the BigShot because of its robustness & that every designer of note was using one. That's usually a good indicator. I've never regretted that decision but my old friend may now be retired because I could leave this one on my desk instead of packing it away in a cupboard. I love that they've gone away from the black colour to the more restful cream & grey.
Great video! But of course, I just finally saved enough to buy a regular big shot. :(
As a consistent crafter and cardmaker. What do you recommend, this or the new big shot.
they are exactly the same machines. I would say choose depending on the space you have. If you have enough space and don't need to put the machine away get the original one.
I went to the Sizzix site & the foldable is not listed there, so I take it this is not yet available in the USA but **IS** in Europe? None of the YT "intros" by "ambassadors" divulge the price. I've noted in the past that Europe also gets a much better die selection. Sizzix also have a new Sidekick which IS available on scrapbook.com. So I wonder if the new components be compatible with the retired Sidekick. With the "big boys" proclivity for GOUGING, I seriously doubt it.
How stable is it? I only have the space of my glass mat and about 4" on front and sides. It's about 2" at the corners at the top. I sit facing the back of the glass mat. Do you think the Sizzix Foldaway work well. I have a Cuttlebug. It's being discontinued. It worked perfectly in that space, I just need to know if the Foldaway will. Thank you.
You don't need another die cutting machine if you have the cuttlebug? all dies work there so you are good to go even if it is discontinued. Unless it's broken.
@@vickyp My Cuttlebug doesn't cut hardly any of my extremely complex dies. How heavy is the machine?
Who sells this machine please?
Oh dear, more expense but a must have! Great video thank you.
I enjoyed your video. I have this machine and my 3D folders will not go thru without great effort. It’s very hard to crank. I feels like the machine will break. Do you mind demoing a Tim Holtz 3D folder?
You need to use the basic platform (not the extra thin one), then your 3d folder with the paper inside and then one cutting plate on top. So you actually don’t use one of the cutting plates. Is this the sandwich you use? It is a bit stiff but still it shouldn’t need great effort to crank. Don’t force it as I am afraid you may break your machine. Try asking Sizzix custome service for help as they should be able to help you out with how-to videos. I do schedule my upcoming videos and I don’t demo it in the upcoming ones that’s why I am trying to help otherwise.
In short here is your sandwich: white platform - 3d folder - transparent cutting plate ….. omit the thin shim for die cutting
My cuttlebug was never that good I always had to use several shims
Is it available in the US yet? Thanks
I can't find it on their official website at the moment but I think it was available a couple months ago. You can send them an email to find out.
Just get the cuttlebug... less expensive and just as great... ❤ mine 😊
I agree! I've used my Cuttlebug for years and Love it!
I agree, it's exactly the same as the cuttlebug. I love mine. No need to get another
I don't know how much this one is, but the Cuttlebug has gotten expensive. I have a friend looking for one and they are running (on Amazon) almost as much as the regular Big Shot.
I have the cuttlebug and love it. This looks just like it.
my cuttlebug doesn't cut Bigz dies -- does yours? I do like this because it's more portable for crops and things.
Wow!! I love it! I want it, but I have too many machines!! lol
Vicky, can you tell us how we know when it's time to replace our existing machines.
Only if it's broken and even then maybe you have a warranty .... otherwise just get new cutting plates. Die cutting machines should last you for a long long time.... I have mine for years and still works great. Remember this is my job so I have way more than I would need if that was only my hobby.
Kristina Servin I experienced my cutting machine (Big Shot) not cutting in certain areas. I would have to turn the die sideways in order to cut all the way. I was told that my machine was warped. It was very old. I've gone through many many machines over the course of 8 years.
Well if your old one retire I know a good house for it 😘
