I’m not quite as enamored with the MP5 as you’d expect for someone who loves mean little guns with deep magazines but I will admit that its absolutely iconic and will exist at least as long as 9mm does.
I've got 2 hk pdw's. One I'm waiting on my tax stamp for also (sbr) and the other I'm going to keep in the safe "NIB" as they say. It's awesome without a stock but one is definitely necessary for accuracy at any sort of range.. like you said the traditional look is the best, no doubt! Exactly what I'm gonna put on mine.
I had a dream the other day that I found an mp5k under the floor of my house, and now I want this lol. I always wanted a regular ap5, but I guess im going the pdw route.
@@booliganshootingsports iI feel the same way about my AP5. Bought mine a couple months ago at 1600 which I thought was great since they were steadily at 2K. Now I see them at just a hair over 1K. And that $200 rebate is also nice.
I really should buy one of these at that price. Good luck with the suppressor, I will say the eform im waiting on right now is approaching the same amount of time my last paper form 4 took.
Because of this video I just purchased one myself. I've always wanted an MP5 in general, especially an MP5K. I also think the flush barrel looks best, but I wound up getting the same model you did due to both availability, and usefulness. Now I just need a 1-point sling, SBR stamp, and foregrip. I think you should design a low-profile direct red-dot mount that doesn't interfere with or get in the way of charging handle manipulation/slapping (like most claw rail mounts). Especially if it worked with the Deltapoint Micro.
Ian from forgotten weapons has mentioned that 922r doesn’t apply to Sbrs. I think it was in his cetme LC sbr video. Not sure if he would be considered the end all be all. Excited for progress on this.
Time to remove that rear sight so you get the ultimate cheek pistol! I imagine it shouldn't be hard to print a rear notch sight that sits more forward so you can get a cheek weld
My latest suppressor was purchased Mar 2021. ATF says they didn't input it as received until Jun 2021. Just got my stamp approved and delivered, Sept 2022. Paper/Trust
My AP5 came with an out of spec barrel and it messed up my YHM tri lug mount so I had to direct thread my can on. Be careful out there guys. My gun runs fine but I hate the tri lug mount didn’t fit( it worked on my buddy’s MPX) and don’t wanna send it back to century because I heard their CS is aweful.

Without an optics mount, threaded barrel, and stock, it was one of the most well utilized submachine gun platforms for executive protection and discrete special operations in the world, lol. Far from being a silly toy. But adding a stock certainly increases the functionality for sure.

It's not a clone. It is licensed built on HK tooling to pre F standards. You wouldn't say that an M1 Garand made by H&R or Winchester was a clone of a Springfield armory M1.
It’s a clone. This isn’t part of the original military contracted order produced for the host nation. It’s ongoing production for the retail sale market using the previously licensed tools, not contract. It’s an officially ok’d clone, but still a clone. Your comparison isn’t really apt because those were made as part of the same initial contract order. If H&R decided to sell the licensed tooling to another part of their company to start making more M1s decades after the original order, I’d absolutely call them clones.
You are totally wrong! They built under HK license and they are marked as MP5 in Turkiye! They also built HK91 as a G3. MKE licensed by HK therefore it's not a colon like PTR or new Zenith! Export versiyon sold in the state as AP5.
If this is your first dip into MP5/MP5 clones, I would make sure to do your research first! I am by no means an expert but I just bought my first one as well and realized I made a few mistakes you can likely learn from. I bought the AP5-M (MP5K) from PSA with a case, picatinny rail mount, cleaning kit, and sling for $900. Still a super good deal and not upset with it at all. I planned to suppress it by swapping out the barrel to a threaded/tri-lug later and even almost bought a barrel. Turns out barrel swamps are insanely difficult and involved. Found out Atlantic Arms has the AP5-P (also like the MP5K but threaded) for just about $250 more. Now Im stuck with an awesome gun that I cannot suppress without spending upwards of $600 and sending it out for serious modifications. Also the main receiver has lugs that block you from easily installing a collapsible stock (after having it registered as an SBR of course). You can by a KES collapsible stock that slides under the lugs at about $280 but it adds a fair bit to the overall length. The other alternative is buying the regular AP5 (MP5) pistol from Atlantic Firearms and this has way more iconic and cool looking stock/folding stock options for it as well as an 8.9” threaded barrel. So long story short, I would highly recommend looking into the different models/sub models -and variants of the MP5 before buying. I know you want that sweet sweet deal on a badass gun but it seems MKE and Century Arms are hear to stay at least for the time being so there is no rush! Make sure you get what you want. And for what its worth… Ive put about 400 rounds of AAC 124gr fmj ammo through mine so far and its ran flawlessly. I also threw a red dot on it and Im absolutely astounded at how accurately it shoots, even off handed. Its as cool or cooler than you think it is. And definitely worth every penny Ive spent on it. Have fun!
I have several suppressors including one for this. I have a fully integrally suppressed bolt action .45 ACP rifle that I machined the can for myself lol.
I laugh when I see someone’s screen name is Double Cheese Burger when they’re actually just a person behind a computer… a true Double Cheese Burger is made of meat that has been ground up.
I would have made the correct choice and bought the 3 HK SP5K's and not bought even one of those clones. Welds not perfect, finish is poor and barrels are inferior quality. Always buy the three HK's and skip the clone. I run the new Timney's in any shooting HK 's it makes the cool gun not suck. Skip the binary they are to slow.
