  • Review of the Dell Latitude 5000 series, E5540.
    The 5000 series is the entry level (mainstream) business unit. Good performance options at a more budget oriented price.
    Most of the unit is plastic. The 6000 series definitely outshines this in construction/durability, but cost is a factor.

      +MoonCreeftSkrubsbbsbs Fnboy I've had no problems playing counterstrike games on any Intel HD graphics with at least 4GB of ram. You'll just have to run with the default settings. If you got an E5540 with the discrete NVIDIA card it will run too :D

    People say a laptop is a laptop, but I find Dell seems to be more reliable to me. I still have my first Dell I bought in 95, Can't do much with it anymore due to software but it still works. To date I have 3 dells, 2 gateways, 2 acers, and I just bought another dell 17in laptop. The only reason why is I bought a new 17in Acer but after 3 months it started acting up, the others I have are just getting slow due to software updates, so I needed another. Seeing the new Acer is sill working but not right I needed a dependable system. Dell has always worked well for me.

      Dell 17 inch laptop, is that the Inspiron? I'm not sure if Inspiron is durable.

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE  Před 10 lety +1

      Metsada007 I have a new Inspiron 17 here as well. It IMO is maybe as good as any consumer grade unit, but the 5000 Series Latitude are more durable

    • @buzzsah
      @buzzsah Před 10 lety +1

      Metsada007 No the new one I have is the XPS not advertized. I do have their 15in Inspiron but it's 5 years old and can't run all the new software, but it's still running great.

      I agree with you. We've used Latitudes where I work both in the office and a warehouse environment. I find they are extremely reliable (the latitiudes) and take a pretty good beating. I dont like the current Lenovo's. I find access to the components is less convenient than the latitudes. I may by a cheapy ultrabook for casual use, but my main laptop for work, doing my bills etc is going to be a nice new latitude.

    • @stockjonebills
      @stockjonebills Před 10 lety

      Metsada007 Inspirion's are Dell's consumer line. I find Dell's consumer line to be far more reliable than HP consumer lines. With that said, This is a Dell latitiude. These are the higher end more professional grade laptops by Dell. They are very reliable laptops. This 5000 series is the midline. The ultimate Latitudes are the 6000 and 7000 series. You wont find latitudes in places like Best Buy. You have to check Dell's website.

      Well, I just bought it off of eBay in the states for $134 with free shipping, and I can't wait to get it next week. A Steal, in my opinion. You can't go wrong with 8GB of RAM because the more RAM you have the more you are able to do before your computer slows down but this is not a gaming laptop. It would be good for school and a nice price. You just have to search around eBay and Amazon eggcetera.
