      Glad you enjoyed it Michael and will find it helpful for you. That's what the video was for. A cheap way for everyone to have a go at making pendants.

    Thank you for your excellent instruction on the making of these wood chucks for making pendants. I made these yesterday and they work great. Although I should have listened more closely to your instructions of cutting the groove straight in for the steel chuck. I made it a dovetail which does not work for this application. I was able to straighten it out and then it worked fine. When I made the second chuck with the groove it worked fine. Today I will make some pendant blanks and put them in the wood chucks and spin them. I'm glad I found you video as I have been wanting to make some pendants but did not have a method to spin them.

    That's about the coolest trick I've seen in a long time. Thanks for sharing this.

    Great idea. I have been watching so many vids on making an offset pendant chuck and they have all been very much more complicated. Using double sided tape or set screws...this is much more practical.

      It's what I have used for a few years now. They won't last forever, but when they wear out, you just make another one. Cheap as chips.

    Thank you Glenn and Liza. Very interesting complement to Marks demo which I enjoyed yesterday.
    You really gave Liza a workout chasing you around the shop with her camera.
    I think you should make a pair of matching earrings to go with the pendant. Maybe a complete set for her gonk

    Thanks Glenn this is great .Could you put your rubber band grooves in before you cut it into 4. The rubber bands they put on lobster claws might be great for holding things together just some thoughts Blessings catch you on your next one

      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi Wade, yes you can put the grooves in before or after. Sorry, I don't have anywhere where I can get lobsters.

    Love it. O-rings would work instead of rubber bands.

    • @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308
      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  Před 2 měsíci +1

      This method was to be able to do it as cheap as possible. Grabbing the Postman and asking for some bands costs you nothing. O rings looking at a cost for them. So many ways you can do it, I was just giving people the idea. People always complaining everything costs money. You can turn stuff for nothing. No one's ever made this chuck.

    Well, June said I couldn’t have another chuck - can now 😮
    Three elastic bands per grove, perfect (‘perish’ the thought) one should let gooo 😡
    What a top instruction video series Glenn, one of your best series I’m thinking 🤔
    I’ve absolutely no use for pendants but what about as Christmas tree decorations, maybe with glitter stencilled or, or a bit of pyro burning oh yes!

    Hi Glenn & Liza - Another great vid by you two. I've watched it twice now and when I make mine, I think I will add some rare-earth magnets to hold each jaw part to the chuck. Then the outer elastic band might not be needed and the pendant should fall out when expanded. Also, I might drill a 6mm hole right on the pendant edge of one of the jaws so a hook could be inserted to pull the pendant out. Cheers and Happy New Years from Oregon.

      Hi Christopher. Thanks for watching. Yes, adapt it however you see fit. This was just to give an idea of how you can work around the problem, on camera, off the cuff, no editing etc. Let us know how you get on.

    For rubber bands you may be able to cut up an old inner tube.
