Internationally acclaimed Norwegian-born singer, Sissel, performs "Panis angelicus" by César Franck, and arranged by Mack Wilberg. This performance came during the 2019 Pioneer Day Concert with The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

Audiences still have not forgotten Sissel’s stunning performances at the Choir and Orchestra’s 2006 Christmas concerts and still regard her as one of the favorite guests of the Choir. The concert was shown in 2007 on PBS stations to 4 million viewers around the country. The Christmas CD, Spirit of the Season, was #1 on Billboard’s Classical chart for nine weeks and was nominated for two Grammy® awards.

She was my Dads favourite singer. He used to play her for me when I was a child and say ‘now this is what it sounds like when you don’t force the voice’. I grew up listening to her and as I get older I’m more and more taken aback by how perfect her voice is - the perfect balance between warmth, purity and authenticity. ❤️

The very same year my mother died. Not COVID. Alzheheimer, after struggling with this disease for 10 long years. We did it side by side. My beloved mom and me. She was a God's humble servant. Well, not that humble, but we're all faulty. I heard Syssel for the first time when I was 45. We are the same age. Now, we are both 51. She's a gifted singer. My prefered. I confess. I have a crush on her. How could I not ? ! She makes me cry all the time. How can such a voice exist among us, mortals ? Jr Alves - Brazil.
The Angels where hearing. I lost my husband Oct 31, 2020. My heart is broken the pandemic was going strong. He said, he heard the Angels calling. I told him to be at peace and go with the Angel's to heaven.

In addition to her angelic voice, the Tabernacle Choir members said she is one of the most humble musicians to work with. I suppose this is why Sissel is so beautiful! She is one of very very few performers that our church will invite twice to perform with the choir and The Temple Square Orchestra, at our conference center in Salt Lake City, UT.

I sang this in the Boston Primary School in Bellville in 1996 with thr very first boys choir at the school. Mr Thompson our music teacher taught us and the Drakensberg boys choir director came for a special occasion and directed us one evening for our folks to come see. Great memory. ❤ and love this video as well. Beautiful

My wife of 49 years died of breast cancer in 2019. She'd fought it for 7 years and was Stage 4 right from the beginning. Late one night after being with her all day at the hospital I came home and for some reason played, "That's All I Know" by Garfunkel. It really hit me hard when I faced the fact, I was soon to lose her.

Papa used to sing this song when he was much younger. The last I heard him try to sing it, but barely able to, singing along to a recording, was after he had recovered a bit from his stroke. He died last Good Friday. None of us could hold ourselves long enough to finish singing this to him before his cremation. We now try to sing it to Mama every chance we get.
