I like the word TMS in stead of panic disorder/Agoraphobia etc saying to myself i have tms already less anxiety. Saying i have panic disorder is like fuck i panic panic
So it sounds like: 1. have the understanding already that it's only the amygdala overreacting 2. when the fight flight kicks in causing panic, anxiety, excess stress etc.. 3. respond firmly not emotionally (ie don't react with fear etc) with the same level of intensity to tell it that it's unnecessary, you won't take it any more 4. relax and move on
But I wonder if welcoming and playing with the sensation or just watching it is the best way to go. I’ve always thought that if you try to get rid of it you are giving the thought more power

@@davidfayfield6594 It is definitely an interesting perspective about trying to get rid of is is giving it more power, but I've just been letting it 'be there' by ignoring it for 16 years now and it's not going anywhere on it's own unfortunately. I'm find that addressing it directly holds more hope for me and I'm noticing the start of good results. I'm learning to do it assertively and kind of respectfully rather than with an attitude of getting rid, if you know what I mean. It's only ever wanted my best interests even if skewed. Only way of knowing is by trying it out.

@healingchronicpain-the paint can you help me with vestibular issue in this realm? While nothing is wrong with my vestibular system there is a genuine fear of driving because if the symptom flare on a long drive, you CAN be in real danger.
What if it's your pudendal nerve? When it's palpated the pelvic floor tightens and when I sit it does thr same thing. Pt will loosen ligaments and muscles then the next day it all tightens back up. It's been three years. I'm so confused with this work when it comes to nerves
When you wake up with a panic attack you probably had strong emotions/freakout a short time before... Catch that reaction and snap out off it early next time... We are not gonna do this no more!!!
My body will not relax in anyway. Every muscle is like lead rock stone. I feel like I need steam rollering. And yes I realise it’s emotions which are ultimately attached to the breath pathways which are ultimately attached to relaxing in to a parasympathetic state etc etc. So do I a) go and live in a cave b) cry wank c) get massage even though someone called dr Sarno said this would reinforce my perception there is something wrong with me yet massage has been used for millennia d) go running with the wolves and hope this causes a relaxation response e) say brain it’s time to get off CZcams and work out how to become an Olympic athlete f) go to a confessional and declare my sins g) pretend I’m really calm and wise by speaking to myself like I’m a retarded child h) get loads of psychotherapy from someone who got into the job because they’re more damaged than I am I) fall in love with a majestic mermaid after swimming my mile a day in the sea and join the mermaid people j) do the amazingly dangerous breath work to open pathways to my subconscious and explain to my brain repeatedly for 20hrs per day for 60 days I love you I love you I love you k) walk 9000miles dressed as a unicorn l) forgive my mother yikes m) write a book about how I heal myself and become a ted talk hero n) find god and take my mermaid people back to my cave to make mermaid babies o) OR turn this whole thing into one long joke to suppress my rage at being part of the human race? I did all of the above. Non of it worked. Thanks for the work x
Oh man. I am surprised your comment doesn't have more likes.😂. Made me laugh. Sadly I am in the same boat. My body gets so tense everywhere trying to suppress and avoid anxious feelings and sometimes I swear I have almost catatonic episodes just so frozen. I have been doing a combination of things. Still no magic cure. But hey maybe I can go through my healing journey and write a book. 😂. But seriously it is such Hell sometimes living this experience. I say all the time that this body didn't come with an owners manuel. Best of luck to you. Somatic exercises have helped me some and also yin yoga. ❤🙏🏼

I didn't want to talk about depression because I guess the channel is not for that specifically. But due to it being stronger now I decided to give it a try in the hope of maybe a "magic" word of effective help. I had been able to overcome the pains of sciatica in my legs while walking. But since the depression came back the pain(s) came back stronger, which feeds the depression which by it's turn increases the pain creating a vicious circle. Im in the beggining of anti depression medication, with - obviously - the supervision of a psychiatrist. I'm in the hope and praying the medication will work and therefore the sensation of the pain will decrease. By using the term 'sensation' by no means I mean the sensation is not real. I expect that with the diminishing of the depression I will be able to feel less pain and thus less depression. The depression is not only caused by the pain ... until a very recent past I was able to overcome the depression by exercising, which now decreased a lot - I mean, the exercises. I'm so scared as I never been before. Thanks for reading this sort of message in the bottle and excuse me the long post. Congratulations for your channel !
Yes get back to exercise- especially if the pain is TMS and related to depression which it sounds like there is a connection. Also leans to work with anger as that is a big emotion internalized and underlying depression
We know what this is!!! Laugh about it and focus on something else... It's only tms/bs/percieved danger.... Then shift your focus to other things and relax

It sounds a lot like challenging beliefs and thoughts technique I use for ocd.

Respond- ‘whatever, go ahead I know what you are’ or something that calls it out as high anxiety
Then relax

You say if the limbic is at 7 we need to step in at 7 too. How do you step in "higher"? Or is that just more practice?

Do you do the same thing when an emotion comes up and your limbic system sees it as a threat do i just say your an emotion and you cant hurt me?
I do wonder how to respond when the issues relate to early trauma and the danger feels more about being emotionally destroyed than physically?
I’m confused. Do you give a strong response or do you just relax and let it move through?
