- For the first time ever, Penn Rail Videos visits the Cass Scenic Railroad for their annual 'Railfan Weekend' event. This year, we'll get to see quite a bit for our first visit to the railroad. We'll continue this two-parter with Sunday's footage; starting off with the 3-Engine Runby in Cass. This will feature the Heisler #6, Shay #6, and Shay #11 from various angles. We'll then move down towards the water tank, also known as Milepost 0 on the railroad timetable. The Heisler will be on the log train, as it passed by staged runbys with Shay #11 and then Shay #6. Then we'll make our way towards Whittaker, stopping for runbys along the way. We'll then conclude our fantastic visit in Whittaker. Our first trip to Cass was beyond describable, and Penn Rail Videos will certainly return for sure! If you've never been there, we highly recommend it.
The Heisler engine is awesome.
Whistles heard:
Big 6-D&RGW 5 Chime.
Heisler 6-Reading 6 Chime.
Shay 11-Powell 3 chime.
Man do I love heisler 6 s whistle!
Very nice, Cass has changed a lot since I've last been up there 6 or 7 years ago. You still can't beat the sound of those shays working, though.
The Cass Railroad is a fun railroad to ride. I like the way they they keep up their equipment.
nothing is sweeter then that 6 chime echoing off those alleghaney mountains.
That D&RGW 5 Chime is awesome!
Always enjoy your work Adam. Glad to see you took advantage of visiting the Cass this year. Hope for better weather next time!
So, you finally made it to Cass, eh? Awesome place! I really need to visit Cass at some point. Man, I love that Reading 6-chime on Heisler #6! Then again, I've always love the Reading 6-chime. Excellent as always!
Shay 11 sounds amazing going upgrade from 6:30 on. Great video!

@LocalRailfan It's in Western WV.
Spectacular video as always! Is this in Southern WV? I will be railfanning "The Pokey" this summer.
@mfptb425 You're standing in front of #6 too at the end.
@adfgfds he was recording the whistle with a sound recorder
That whistle on Heisler 6 almost sounds like Strasburg #90.
It's a reading replica 6
@raym1944 It's surprising how much money they have. They have all that equipment, and the ride is only 11 miles. I just wonder how they get so much money to maintain all that. I'm glad they do though.
3 dislikes came from CSX.
