I just came here to say that Devy's outfits were totally 10/10. He really took the "Devil wears Prada" literally 😂🥰

What I really like about this drama is that it moves quickly, everyone has screen time and it has every trope which is typical of the gender but with a twist, which means that, even if has the same structure, it feels different at the same time:
1. The female lead is naive and innocent BUT she's not stupid.
2. There's the typical Male character who is considered perfect by the Fairy People BUT he's not the male lead.
3. The male lead is cold BUT that's not his personality, there's a reason behind it AND he's regarded as a villain for a lot of people, turning out the be an antihero and yes, later, the hero.
4. They have the typical storyline in the Mortal World BUT the mains don't became human, others do.
This was a really good drama, a diamond in the rough, if not for the last couple of episodes. Honestly, if they extended the episodes for a bit, they would've been able to level out the ending scenes, providing us a much more satisfying ending sequences. Of course, it's just me personally.
Agreed, this was a decent fantasy ride. Although, my idea of improving the ending arc would be to chop the whole "Dongfang dying for the world" completely and end the drama when Orchid sacrifices. The last few episodes make it too... similar to other fantasy dramas?
My fav female character here was the one saying "counting on luck ?". She surprisingly was not written like your typical jealous annoying only-there-to-make-heroine-miserable type of character. I liked how she became helpful and quickly matured cause she had principles.

@@quippequest wished cdrama would promote more female leads like her in those idol costume dramas.
I love this drama and only have a few complaints.
1. It needed AT LEAST 1 more episode so we can confirm that they’ll be okay.
2. They made the second ML too hot and too good. I really had a hard time picking between the two (but of course, Dongfeng Qingcang!)
3. Although after a while I got use to Esther, sometimes I still wonder what other actresses can do for her character.
Oh yes the second ML was adorable ( in the beginning more than in the middle but it got better in the end )

Loved this drama ❤️. One thing though i really hope someone could like make a chart of how many immortal years = how many human years cause then i will at least know whether 500 years for them is like 5 yrs for us or something u know like 1 human year = 7 dog years 🤣🤣🤣🤣

the thing with these types of dramas is that they make demons seem like good people, even though they are pure evil.
But they werent actual demons, they were originally living together with the celestials until the celestials tried genozide and they fled to this place beyond the sea
@@gardeningcatlady9311 not just this drama, but this whole thing of making bad guys look like good guys, but mostly making movies about satan and demons and making them seem good.
@@arthemis_simehtra I kinda agree with you, which is why I find labeling or calling this tribe devils not right. I think they mostly did this for the whole "mortal enemies to lover" trope.
But I definitely dont like that so many dramas revolve around some kind of demon. Always gives me a bad feeling.

I agree with your conclusion about female leads in your full review. There is a dearth of good female leads that seem to be a direct result of lazy writing, or at least it is a common trope in shows and books throughout the...I was going to say west, but it seems that it will be the world.
As I read through the rest of your conclusions, I can see why you feel the way that you do about the story and the main romance and appreciate your opinion. I cannot find fault with your logic. :D I like them as a couple, since a little fluff in life is enjoyable, as long as you are balanced with other things. I went through Blue Whisper right after and that had a lot of angst and relationship drama. I actually read the light novel and compared the two. Interesting stuff.

I believe there are plenty of good fictional female leads out there, ones that are rounded and well-develop; but yes, for some reason, those stories don't get adapted as often.

I really wish you could give this drama more detailed feedback. This was my first c drama ever to watch. first I was fascinated by the story and the plot. with the plot since it was something fresh and new. then I was shocked and hurt when Mr. Devy said to his brother I will sacrifice her and by her meaning “orchid”. Then he asked his brother to keep an eye on her so that later he can take her to kill herself to free those soldiers. What makes me mad they never explained how he wanted to sacrifice her then when she came back to life he cried and told her he did it all to save her and he only meant that he pushed her to hate him so that the bracelet would fall down by itself since he couldn’t take it away by force, but never mentioned the fact the he had his brother keep an eye on her To sacrifice her for the soldiers. now here is a huge contradiction that drives me mad and no one mentioned anything about it ever. Not to mention the ending was rushed like they enjoy the suffering and when it comes to happiness they rush it like they have no time left and then to satisfy the viewers they make a one minute extra episode by adding old clips, they didn’t even bother to make new ones.
So he wanted to save her. Then he contradicted himself by sacrificing her never explained that that drove me mad and disappointed me. and it’s so so so so so so confusing. Then orchid comes back to life only and only to willingly wanting to sacrifice herself again for the sake of the universe. See drama they love torture and suffering.
Sorry for the late reply. I do have a few review posts on this drama over at our website (you can see the link in the description). Yes, I agree about all the contradictions. The story wanted too much to show how the main character sacrifice for each other, it ends up overdoing it. In the end, physical suffering is the only thing they have to offer. That and the old miscommunication trope.
