@@cureiceI agree. ESPECIALLY during the later era of Aikatsu!, where it seems they wanted her to go for a typically “cute” voice. She works much better when her voice is deeper. It was especially jarring during In Bloom, since she had to sing as Akari and Hime
@@thapelosishi glad someone agrees. Season 3 have her beautiful songs like Blooming Blooming where her nasal quality and range excelled.
But Hime was given lots of songs that forced Ruka out of her comfort zone.
I've never been that knowledgable about the seiyuu and singing cast, so this was super informative! How did I have no idea Seira and Aoi shared a voice....... Also Etude of Radiance is one of my favorite songs 🥰 And Christmas Starlight of course >:) It's been on my idol Christmas playlist for years!
I'd love PPP or Tristar next, it's so rare to hear detailed analysis of vocals like this!

I really wanted to explain the technical aspects of singing so that everyone could appreciate how hard the singers work.

I think this analysis is helping me understand why I really like some Aikatsu songs, and others not so much. Sometimes you don't always realize how big a part the vocals play in a song's attractiveness, not just the beat and the lyrics. This was very informative so thanks for this.

Okay this was a fun look into the singers for Aikatsu and how they use their range ^^ My favourites are Wakka with Idol Activity, Friend, Wake Up My Music, and Dancing In The Rain, Fuuri with Wake Up My Music, Stranger Alien and Friend and Sunao with Kira Pata Shining ^^ I would to see a deep dive of Tristar and Luminas ^^ Great video as always ^^

Really really really love this deep dive❤❤❤. It shows a lot of stuff that the me back then didn't even think existed. On the other hand, I would love to see a some kind of vocal comparison between the main characters of the Aikatsu Franchise. Please continue making awsome content 🎉🎉❤❤

It would be cool if you could decide the series episode by groups. For example next episode would be about tristar ft. Mikuru (since she's mostly paired with Mizuki)

@@cureice yeah I think it should go when the groups were debuted in the anime. So that means Tristar is next (mikuru can be added in the video if you want)
I'm so excited for your Aikari and AiStars Vocal Diaries! These two eras are overall the best in terms of vocals imo.
Also, I don't understand those who don't like Ruka's Hime voice. Her Hime voice is much fuller than Akari's. Especially in lives. And especially in later AiStars tracks. I recommend you to listen Start Line Acoustic ver. If there's a criticism, I think it's much more appropriate to criticize her Aria voice. That was a role where Ruka was completely out of her comfort zone (her upper range isn't as wide as Nanase or Rie) I think it would've been better to give Aria to Kana instead of Ruka.
It's the same problem Nanase has with Koharu. Shiori too. It's too light and breathy
Rue has an amazing range. She sounds so good in Start Line.
@@cureice Yeah, I know. That's why I think it's frustrating.
Also, I think Nanase and Ruka have a range difference. While Nanase can do even vibrato on Koharu without difficulty (So Beautiful Story, Aikatsu Step Live ver), Ruka isn't so comfortable on Aria.
Ruka's range is quite wide compared to almost all Aikatsu seiyuus. But if we take only Nanase, Rie and Ruka, Ruka is at the bottom.
@@novicuswriterus in terms of range, we can't ignore singers like Kana. She does wonders for both Madoka and Mahiru. She's such a powerhouse even when singing live.
Apart from that, I think that Miho is a spiritual successor to Sunao. She has a very playful voice with a strong nasal tone(good). It makes sense that she got the sexy type charactera
@@cureice Of course! That's why I said they should've give Aria to Kana, not Ruka. She has really wide range among with the other two and I think she can handle Aria better than Ruka imo.
Also, people always say Kana is the best singer in the franchise (I understand why they say this tho, she's amazing as hell!) but I'm not sure about that. When it comes to supported range, consistency and control there are seiyuus better than her actually.
I love Miho's sexy chara voice so much lol but I don't understand why they give her cute voices. Her Juri and Yozora voices are in her prime eras imo. I don't like her Nono and Kirara voices that much.

Also, there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t miss Sunao and Moe dearly. There’s nothing wrong with Yuna and Remi, and frankly, I should be used to them but I’m just not…
I’m not a fan of how Yuna ends her vowels as Ran. Especially her “ah”s and “oh”s. I have the Ichigo and Ran version of Friends as one of my daily alarms, and I just really don’t like it. It just bothers me too much. And I’m not keen on a deeper voice for Yurika. The 5th Festival kinda confirmed by bias, since her voice actress performed Glass Doll.
I have mixed feelings on both of Sunao's replacements. I think that Dancing Baby is a perfect sample of the approaches they each take. Yuna takes a much stronger approach while Eri adds some vibrato.
