The designs are all so fun and dynamic. I'm glad it was featured in "Drawing Fantastic Female Fighters"
I love heartcatch's designs something serious. The show has a clear, easy theme, and they took the flower theme so literally with the pedal skirts and flower sleeves. It's something you don't really see with many other precure series.
Yeah. Now if there was a flower theme, the designs would be much bigger and layered
The dune section was so true because you’re telling me that for three hundred years precure were being defeated by a four foot tall twink in leggings and a blazer? Really?

i remember when i first saw his design on the show and i was like “wtf” should of made kumojacky or something the main villain cause what the hell is dune
@@cureinterstellar When I think back to Heartcatch I remember the generals. Dune is a cool name and all, but his design is so bland😭😭😭
Facts, they did Itsuki so dirty. They could have just dubbed the Tomboy aesthetic.
And Karen’s movie look REALLY reminds me of Aoi/Gelato.

I love the cure forms cause they hold a simple yet charming look plus the artstyle is so cool and unique to me although when I first saw the 3d ending the way they were built scared me a lil lol

The cures are so simple, in a way that the modern seasons would never do. It was a different time
The dull shoes are good, I like that their outfits look realistic while being very cute. New Pretty Cure civilians wear these fully matching designer outfits which I think should be saved for the Cure designs
Maybe its my love for fashion talking but😭 I kinda love it when the girls are styled like models off the runway. Its very pretty.
@@cureice Oh don't get me wrong I love fashion! I just like the aesthetics to be realistic for the situation. An idol season where they always have really classy outfits would be amazing
Glad you’re doing these again I love them. I guess because I’m also super sentai fan. I do kind of like some seasons where the outfits are monochromatic, but I think in terms of being outdated, that’s OK because sometimes the seasons will be outdated you know like smile as a monochromatic look, but I guess it works a little bit better since it’s more uniform, but I don’t know. I like the differences between the seasons. For example, I can watch Doki Doki or go princess and see costumes that have multiple colors where I can wash them more uniform ones like this but it’s funny and great video as always
I really do miss the seasons where the duo have separate and duo transformations tbh but it’s so true Cure sunshine cannot dress 😂
But oh, no, I do think the style is very nostalgic though

I missed DESIGN DIARY a lot so this was fun to work on. I don't mind monochromatic designs but after so many seasons, I think they're hard to pull off. Heartcatch had the advantage of coming so early.
I was expecting a duo transformation this season but I guess it's still too early😢

Dark Precure is so cool!
I think heartcatch is really in a league of its own when it comes to the precure franchise. Story, design and overall depth of the season was so well done. I think that is largely why it is the most well know season and also why alot of people start out with it. Not a single season has really been able to match it in terms of its presentation and story, some seasons do better than others but heartcatch was and still is the peak of the precure franchise. Heartcatch when looking at later seasons really seems to be the Blueprint of how future seasons were developed. Fresh started some elements of course but heartcatch cemented them. This is the start of Pink,Blue, Yellow and Purple mains and also the powered-up forms was established here. Freshes power up forms where included rather last minute. I think the design choices in heartcatch are strong and have stood the test of time especially the cure designs and there powered up forms, and are largely undated however, the only part where the shows its ages are elements of 3D endings and also in All stars filims, and as mentioned some of the fashion choices. A part of me hopes that this season may get a season 2 ala the recent part 2 that yes gogo received. But I still think it does hold up it is a life time favourite of mine and I always recommended it as a start to the precure series
I think the season that came closest was Princess. It was really mature, had great designs, fights and amazing themes

Magical girl animes overall are really innovative in terms of art style also magical girl shows give also birth of the modern art style from the 2010s because of they glossy design

This is such a good show the artstyle is nice with characters being great and funny with also the story flowed nicely with good development plus the designs for the characters are cool and feel like they complement with each its my favorite season with it being the only season I've fully watched but honestly in my top 5 favorite anime nice video you did a great job:)

This is such a good dissection! Heartcatch is one of my favorite Seasons, and I feel like the artstyle plays a large role in it. Top tier designs! Also, if I may ask, why don't you like it when characters hair matches their eyes? I'm curious!

I think it washes out their eyes. They end up blending in with the matching hair. I think contrast can really draw your focus to their face and make a strong impresson. For example, Hoshimiya Ichigo's red eyes really stand out thanks to her blonde hair.
Question; Cure Egret is a white cure or a SIlver cure? Her costume always looked white to me.
I finished Wonderful precure, for now, and it's good! I like the characters; Mayu is adorable and Satoru too plus his rabbit has cute reactions; the transformations are pretty, the music is nice. FINALLY there's some fighting thank's to Cure Nyammy! Just running around a garugaru wasn't fun to watch. I love her design and Cure Lilian too; a fantastic duo with amazing hairs and elegants dresses 🥰
I always assumed she would be a white cure like White.

unpopular opinion but i like that itsukis outfits are kinda fugly, it feels fitting with her character that when she wants to dress more feminine she doesnt really know how to choose properly. im probably just overthinking it though
