Lost Odyssey most underrated RPG of all time!
Top 5, probably. And soundwise, it is so, so forgotten...
Totally agree! I didn't get to play it for years but came across a previously-used one on Amazon. Borrowed the old Xbox 360 from my niece to play it. Heavenly experience for me -- the graphics, spells and effects, etc, are beyond good! Wish there's a sequel! Similar games are no match, I say!
U still alive man...
Keeping this one alive in 2020 here! The pandemic has given me an excuse to fall in love with this game all over again. It's hard to find a comparable experience even now, one of the most beautiful and emotionally engaging games of all time, I wish I could have seen this performed live
Keeping it alive in 2022! I remember how hard the boss battles were but more importantly the story. I felt I knew how to use every character by the time they had to go.
I never played Lost Odyssey but its one of Uematsus best works. And this proves that his music can stand on its own, seperated from the games.
PLEASE PORT THIS GAME! Nintendo Switch, PS4, whatever JUST PORT THE DAMN THING!
yes!!!!!
Port Zelda BOTW and Final Fantasy 7 R to Xbox first lol
Or...
You can buy an Xbox
Proud to have bought the game on/close around release for the full 60 euros, it was absolutely worth it. I just wish the game wasn't so underrated or less known, ALL Final Fantasy fans, old and young should get it, and JRPG fans in general. In fact, I wasn't a JRPG fan at the time but was open minded enough and really, really loved it.
Absolutely one of the very best games on the 360.
Top tier 360 jrpg
Amazing if not the best RPG all time with just The Best composer in the world. The game was so emotional and deep. Just don't understand why so underrated.
Many people miss a Insane game.
Remember spending like 100hours on this game.
Beautiful.
16:40 is so poignant. Beautiful. I will revisit this game when kids are out of the house in 10 years. If it's still available to play!
I absolutely love all of Mr. Uematsu's work. I'll buy a game if I hear he composed the music. Lost Odyssey has to be one of my favorite RPG's of all time, his music makes it unforgettable.
To me, personally.. Still one of my favourite orchestra performances of all time.
A truly masterpiece and the true successor of the final fantasy series, but really underrated.
Wow, This is truly amazing, I mean you can actually see the joy in the parts of the orchestra when they come to certain themes. This is proof that games can be art.
Dark Saint is one of my favorite battle composition from Nobuo Uematsu and I love how much power they added into the theme.
Lost Odyssey is one of the best RPG's of all time, but totally ignore. Never understood why.
It's mistake was to be xbox exclusive, commonly most of the JRPG players are on play station I think. I loved this game, cried and smiled more than my heart was capable to support.
Das war eins der schönsten und beeindruckendsten Konzerte, die ich je gesehen habe! Kölner Philharmonie! Danke an Nobuo Uematsu für diese Musik!
This... I have no words. I have listened to this for over decade despite never playing the game, but its just so stunning, and means so much, I honestly don't know what to do with myself sometimes when I hear it lol
If you ever get the chance to play it, you should. It’s a masterpiece 🥹
@@DJ-lw6vw Yeh I know haha I also have lots of associated memories with the music itself while out in the world listening to it and it takes me back so hard lol
Please tell me you've watched the short stories of Kaim living his life immortal
@@Howesyofdreams I'm aware of them yes. I've watched many essays about the game and plot and characters etc.
They're well written and sad and beautiful etc. haha
I was like on disc 3 many years ago, but my saved game got corrupted and I never beat the game. I'm finally playing it again and it's just as amazing as I remembered. Not perfect, but still one of the best 360 games hands down.
For me too Lost Odyssey has one of the best sound track ever.
Holy crap I didn’t know this existed! I’m in love already.
ARNIE MY MAN!! KEEP DOING GOD’S WORK YOU BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING!
Long live Nobuo Uematsu
Oh my God I just found this and now I want to cry of joy cause it's so beautiful
Of course Jotaro-kun
This is so... moving. I nearly cried while watching the livestream. Thanks so much for posting this. *_*
I still remember when my friend introduced me to L.O. Bought it shortly after and still have it to this day.
"A formidable enemy appears" was awesome. It just blows you away. A great final to this wonderful concert.
amazing game, amazing music , the only draw back was the loading times! im hoping for an hd remaster or something
The loading times were always with it
Played it on Xbox one and had like none, this is base Xbox one, does serious wonders for the game
Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich es mittlerweile gehört habe. Ich glaube, ich kenne es inzwischen auswendig. Aber das ändert nichts an meiner Faszination für dieses Stück. Wundervoll!
I luv it, we hope part 2^^
This needs so much more views.
mr nobuo final fantasy needs you back!!!
The best game of 360 and One
Holy Crap this is beyond amazing!
11:00 Dark Saint naaawww ^w^
Thanks for all the close ups on the trumpets -_-
Uematsu is hands down the best composer of game music out there. the fact that his music gets played in live orcastras like this is proof of that. the othey other game composer i can think of that has a chance of matching noubu is the guy who made the music for cronocross, but i think that guy is kinda MIA.
The only other composer that comes close is Motoi Sakuraba. One of my favorite RPGs of all time had his music.
I luv it, we hope part 2
I wish they would have done Howl of the Departed, but this is still incredible. Oh and they did dark saint which is epic.
i
WOW... that... was... A-MA-ZING!!!
That was beautiful.
Uematsu left Square. He wanted to be able to freelance. Personally, I think Sakaguchi leaving Square has something to do with it. He and Uematsu have a really good relationship(Uematsu's legendary career started because Sakaguchi gave him the opportunity to work for Square Soft)...and considering the fact that Uematsu has composed for almost all of Sakaguchi's games since the man founded Mistwalker, that makes sense. He can work for whoever is willing to hire him without being tied down.
die Symphonic odyssey in der Kölner Philharmonie - werd ich nie vergessen.
0:22 and I'm already tearing up haha.
no, YOU'RE crying!
this game had so many lulz was awesome
I know I got the 360 for this game, a year before its release.
That X06 preview was dope
and part of the actual game!
oh my god this is as beautiful as the original Lost Odyssey soundtrack, i love both
I just wish there was a camera on Nobuo Uematsu when he compose his music and just see the magic unfold
I LOVE THIS SONG
20:25 of pleasure .. thank u for the upload ;)
29th of december 2022. I do still remember
Lost Odyssey is beautiful!
amazing.
It was a tiny bit off tune and weak in places (they probably needed more practice), but the battle theme was spot on and that ending was really amazing - the symphony seemed to come into its own and I really liked the new ending arrangement.
The Ending could be a little bit shorter, but apart of this, it is absolutely perfect
Wonderful game and OST
Damn, that "Epilogue" :O
Love just about every track in this awesome game. They really should perform "Howl of the Departed" live one of these days. I personally think that one has One-Winged Angel beat xp
I looove Lost Odyssey!! Put down your FF for a bit and play this game!!!
same thing
A M A Z I N G !! *o*
Lost Odyssey OST is fuckin' amazing!
awesome! gunna have to skeg that.
Am I the only one who thinks that LOST ODYSSEY's OST is better than FINAL FANTASIES's OSTs?
2 people dislike this? Wow that is a shame....
Play it in 2021 again
And they say videogames cannot be art.
What is a great video game ?
It's a video game with a great OST.
It's my humble theory.
Ojalá Microsoft Xbox se plantee sacar una secuela o una nueva entrega de este magnífico juego.
O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT! O MY GOD DARK SAINT!
20 MIN? OMG!!!
LO prologue @16:40
fking amazing
That’s the Main Theme. Very similar to the prologue though. It makes more sense for it to be the Main Theme since they followed it up with that song that follows Seth’s Theme on the OST (forgot the name but it’s beautiful).
Great
can someone please tell me where "a formidable enemy appears!" starts?
3:20
Fucking epic, original composer is a legend.
If you havnt played it before, wtf are you waiting for?
69693 visit hell yeah, also this is one of the most underated rpg of all time
@MrGvRii
Well, I feel that the best Final Fantasy OST was FFVI's(Uematsu also said that it's his personal favorite). LO's soundtrack, to me, is only second to that one so, no, you're not the only one who thinks highly of LO's music.
the studio ghibli of the gaming world
3.14 a mighty enemy appears *_*
I wish I didn't have to wait 15 years for a PC port (like FF7) and play it whenever I want. My 360's already burried in dust and almost at its second rrod...
360's are dirt cheap now and don't get rrod anymore either.
Well ... nah i'm not gonna buy a dead system a second time. Even cheap. I'd rather upgrade my graphic card. Not to mention that my game cds prolly won't work anymore.
360 emulators were a decade off when you made the comment.
Well, now you can play it on Xbox One :v
Does anybody know where I can find the lyrics for Lost Odyssey?
Actually microsoft gave this game away for free to everyone a while back .
I agree best game soundtrack to date. best game, not well respected as it should be the best "Final Fantasy"
there fucking gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
It definitely is one of the best. I personally say FFIX is the best, followed by 7, followed by this.
But that's just me :)
11:03 - 12:10 anyone know which battle song that is on Lost Odyssey, can't seem to find it
guess no one knew, even after 8 years
i loved this game i dont understand why there is no 2 part
excelente OST de un excelente juego lastima que casi nadie lo pelo a mi gusto mucho mejor que final fantasy
Eargasm
@MrGvRii no :P i agree with you
@CaligoDraco ich auch net das war echt hammer ober geil vor allem Nobuo hehe^^
so did Nobuo leave Square or did Square decide they didnt want him anymore?
Oh god they fucked up "A Mighty Enemy Appears" with those obnoxious drums.
No sign of hope?
Didn't do too well, but happy to see it all the same.
dunno if u saw. studio ghibli is making a ps3 exclusive. looks like im buying a ps3
only more perverse :(
not really lol
These arrangements feel off. Not a huge fan of the direction they took with them.
Wow im sorry they fucked the ending by doing a lame vesion of he battle theme.
then final fantasy must be overrated
It is. A lot.
Was für einen Schwindel ! Is it a big joke from Valtonen ? I stopped at 6 minutes because this was just a mix of several movments of the Rite of the Spring... Sorry but, when we can clearly identify some movments as it is just variations, it is a theft, not an inspiration !
Yes! I checked the comments to see if anyone had noticed the strong Stravinsky inspiration in the arrangement. Not that Stravinsky and Uematsu don't go together, mind you. One-Winged Angel is also clearly inspired by Stravinsky, but Uematsu also incorporated other influences (e.g. Hendrix's 'Purple Haze, Orff's 'Carmina Burana', etc.) that he made his own to some extent. However, comparing the Lost Odyssey OST to this arrangement, Valtonen combines Uematsu's melodicism with Stravinsky's dissonant atonality and heavy percussion. As a result, it sounds "off" in places. This was intentional and not due to "lack of practice", as some have suggested. If this concert was intended as a "tribute" to composer Uematsu, why distort the original melodies through a Stravinsky filter? It is as if Valtonen felt that Uematsu's music was not good enough and tried to "improve" it by making it sound like another composer. Utterly baffling.
