I was there that day, at that exact concert, seated only a few meters away from Nobuo Uematsu himself. I can tell you, never had I shed happier tears of joy in my life. What an unforgettable experience. I remember the orchestra giving one encore after another as the crowd kept begging for more.
Paragoti you’re very lucky to have witnessed a masterpiece such as this
Yup, i was also there. A bit further behind, but it was pure magic.
Nobuo Uematsu really outdid himself with this one. Although Masashi Hamauzu also deserves some praise considering he did the arrangement. Both are so talented.
Nobuo Uematsu the best composer in the world today
FFの曲は聴いてるだけで涙が出てくる。
思い出も一緒に甦る、本当に名曲ばかり。
The arrangement was actually written by Roger Wanamo, a big, friendly, talented composer from Finland. He and colleague Jonne Valtonen studied both in Tampere and are the main arrangers for the European vgm concerts produced by Thomas Böcker (Symphonic Fantasies, Symphonic Odysseys, LEGENDS, ...). Names worth to be kept in mind ^^. // Hamauzu und Uematsu did great work on composing!
The orchestra version makes my skin crawl... It's amazing.
Video game music doesn't get much better than this. They took the original arrangement and elevated it to the heavens.
Probably the most beautiful song in the FF catalog.
"The people we have lost...and the dreams that have faded...never forget them." - Yuna
I'll never forget this. Anyway, great music, thanks for the upload.
I cried so hard during this. And even my friend, who didn't know either game or its music, cried with me. This shows how awesome Uematsu's music is. It reaches your heart, no matter who you are.
このアレンジは神ってる
いつか終わる夢だ
なんて綺麗で切なくて、悲しい響きなんだろう
Holy hell the original doesn't even compare to the epicness of this version
And the Original was already epic itself
i realy had to hold back my tears because my little brother
and my dad were sitting right next to me
awesome music from an awesome man played by an awesome group of musicans
that day was pure epicness
Aw man; if only time could have been turned back to incorporate this arrangement in to the video game; this is absolutely fantastic!!!
I hope this gets pressed to an album one day it’s the most beautiful music ever - the arrangement is superb
Just how powerful can an musical piece be?
After seeing this, can you even start to comprehend?
Nobuo Eumatsu is the modern day living Musical genius of this generation, his composition is played all over the world, even the non Final Fantasy gamers loves his masterpiece.
Truly this is one of the most beautiful works of art I have ever heard. Bravo!
Tears. My childhood was a great one.
A powerful arrangement! I can feel all the dread and tragedy and determination of that moment. Thank you for uploading this! I can’t imagine my life without having heard this music!
I've been waiting for this my whole life.
and this is why i want to become a professional musician...
That's what I call a Calm ! Nobuo Uematsu, one of the best VGM compositors ever.
My god, the sheer epicness of this version reverberates my SOUL.
Oh this was Fleeting Dream! I had such a brain fart, haha! I knew Hamauzu did track 5 on disc 2 of the album release they did of this, but his contribution was actually the "Ending Theme (from Final Fantasy X)" for this concert according to my album.
Thank you for that catch! Either way though, the original composition is brought out so well in this arrangement that it's just so good.
This is absolutely amazing. It’s hypnotizing
It just makes me wanna go hug Nobou and say "Thank you"
A Fleeting Dream is my second fav song from this game next to To Zanarkand. So amazing.
You, my friend, deserves it! Must have been so awesome to meet Uematsu!
Simply beautiful.
Such a beautiful arrangement - I was there, and yes, I cried.
Also, I can't help but brag a little: when I was at the airport the following day, me and my brother met Arnie Roth, who was getting on the same plane as us. He talked with us for a good while, when suddenly, Nobuo Uematsu himself walked by! We got autographs from both - a chance we missed at the concert because of those long lines.
If I didn't have pictures to prove it, I wouldn't believe it myself - I mean, what are the chances?
Love this!!
4th time I watched it today and still goosebumps and tears keep coming up. This is so beautiful.
Omg. I am listening to this online and i have goosebumps all over and i'm right about to cry. It's so freaking beautiful.
What I would give if I could go to europe and listen to symphonic fantasy concert live.
just wow!
what a piece of melody!
a must!
Normally in a concert, the piano isn't placed in front of the conductor, as the pianist has to see the conductor as well. In this case however, a german pianist called Benjamin Nuss, who made his tribute CD as professional Pianist with music of Nobuo Uematsu alone and get known within the scene of german videogame music fans with this, was attending the concert and performed as guest. The piano in front of the orchestra was the one reserved for him, so that he's clearly visable for the audience.
The slow parts with the deep voices are truly breathtaking.
This is an arrangement of the "Suteki da ne" melody by Masashi Hamauzu, which is why it's so incredible. In this concert it's further arranged and orchestrated by Roger Wanamo.
8 years late, but isn't "Suteki da ne?" a common leitmotif in FFX?
@@InDededeYes it is
dieses stück habe ich geliebt und fast geheult :)
definitiv eines der highlights..
ich hoffe sehr dass es jetzt mit den "Symphonic ..." Konzerten nicht einfach so Schluss ist...
I love this part in the game! The music was so sad and tragic. It's unbelievable something beautiful like this is actually only featured in games..
The song plays only a few times in the game, and only when Sin is present. The two most iconic are a) during the aftermath of Operation Mi'ihen when Tidus goes swimming after Sin and b) during the final cutscene.
fighting back tears. this makes u feel EVERYTHING. wow.
OMG. YOU ARE SO FREAKING LUCKY. I am so envious of you. Really. I can't even--!
simply wonderful. the choral arrangement makes me think that the fayth are singing this tune as the party approaches the end of their journey toward zanarkand...
This is magnificent!
Beautiful.
It also plays when walking through the Zanarkand Ruins.
goosebumbs!!!!!
This version of "Someday the Dream Will End" would make an epic background theme for a last stand scene.
This song doesn't include in Distant World FF Concert Anymore? What a pity..
This was an amazing performence , really brings back memories ;.(
goosebumps all over
Fantastique !
Man..
just..
wow.
Jesus, this is one of the greatest thing's I've ever heard in my life.
Lo que daría por verlo en vivo ahora mismo... T-T!!!! SUBLIME
goodness this is amazing...
Aow .. This arranged music is giving me the same feeling that the Chrono Medley (Symphonic Fantasies) ...
These two medleys made me dropped a tear ... How not to cry in front of something so beautiful ?
this is so Epicly Nostalgic it chokes me up....Legendary
Just amazing... Wish they did this when i went to distants worlds in london
I second this! I would love to sing this
Probably my favorite of this fantastic concert... Moved me most. Also, I've never played in FFX.
Such good Hamauzu. Though the melody is Uematsu's and Hamauzu and Uematsu composed this piece as a collaboration for the game, Hamauzu's arrangement of their track is clearly sublime.
I was there! One of the greatest experiences in my life!! (>w
Awesome ! it feel me really nostalgic, one of my favorite music from FFX. It's funny, I always thought this music was composed by Masashi Hamauzu.
the people and the friends that we have lost... or the dreams that have faded... Never forget them.
i wanna cry tis so beautiful! DX
So much yes!!!!!
The singing makes it so deep.
Einfach nur episch *Daumen hoch*
Wow...the singers almost sound exactly like the Fayth from the game...It's like Yojimbo, Anima, and Ixion decided to join in...amazing...truly amazing
The music outrules FF! But the combination makes me love all FFs so much! It makes the game experiance emotional/exiting/interesting! Good work
@Hupuable Agreeable; Uematsu makes music breathe.... I love how intricate he uses emotion in his pieces.. of course the complexity spanning from classical music are truly displayed through his perceptions... its like "he explains" Final Fantasy through music.... objectively of course, his music simplicity is enjoyable for any ear to listen
I'm at loss for words...
Lucky. I was there too, and if we got in line sooner, we would have had the honer to see him face-to-face too...
The most iconic is in the Zanarkand Ruins, complete with BGMOverride (tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BackgroundMusicOverride)
This music is phenomenal... Uematsu is a modern day genius.. I would definitely put him in the hall of fame with Mozart, Beethoven and anyone esle who are composition geniuses.... He's probably better....
belissimo
It's called 'A Fleeting Dream', btw.
VGM can be a separate experience from gaming, for sure. But in that regard, it's up to the composer (and in this case arranger) to give the musicians the correct means to understand the vision they're trying to fulfill.
Obviously having some context helps bring out the music even more, but the most important thing as a musician in an orchestra is to see the music expressed to the utmost degree in the sheet music, and is also the conductor's job to bring out these elements with the ensemble.
that one guy in the choir sounded really good
epic song ever ffx rules
Sometimes called "Someday the dream will end"
I can feel every bit of zanarkand ruins listening to this
For those who care: it starts at 0:18
My god.... 😢.
You might recognise it if you listen to the original track that was used in the game.
The arrangement is fucking great.
afaik there was a rundown of all pieces by each composer and some by both, this one was a nobuo one only I'm pretty sure?? =D I love them both though him and Hamauzu
epic. uematsu is level 100.
what was beautiful about this song was lost in he fanfare. A sight of spira yet so far away.
i've always wondered how much the musicians know which part of the ffx narrative this song corresponds to. can they tell just by the music what the story is about? or do you only get to fully appreciate the music having played the game? can vgm be a separate experience from gaming?
your screen shattered and you faced behemoth in zanarkand ruin
Is there any possible way to get the lyrical content of the vocals of this song? Any help would be great thank you!
No, clearly the dislike was Lady Yunalesca...
Oh lord WHAT HAVE I - *Is shot dead*
I was there and came buckets.
いいね👍
BEAUTIFUL........T_T
