Bifold door repair - Top Roller

- ----- How to make a stronger bifold door wheel / roller so it doesn't break so easy. I used the head of a pex toilet connector but you can use other materials.
-----The wheel is really only a guide, so you can use just about any piece of hard plastic cut to a roughly round shape. Then drill a hole in it ad press it back on the pin.
-----Also, make sure the screws that hold the track in place don't stick down too far. That can split the wood of the door when the wheel hits the screws.
----- If your wood is split, watch my video on how to replace the pivots in a bi fold. Those videos show how to put a metal strip on the edge of a bi fold to fix and reinforce the wood that is split.

Thank you man I like your idea about how to make a wheel with the Toilet connector because I am trying to find the hard plastic snug fit wheel for my Coat closet but didn't get success now I know how to make a wheel with toilet connector.

any suggestions on how to reinforce the wood where the roller pin enters the door? Have you used a brace like the Prime-Line Corner Repair bracket?
thank you for your clear video. Problem is my bifold Louver door fell off the track and I have no idea what's wrong with it. I'll look at the wheel again everything looks like it's still intact though. Was able to get the door back up on the track but then it came off again. is there some way I can reach you directly and send you a few photos of the issue. Would really appreciate some guidance and would like to be able to do this myself. I did get a kit from Amazon with replacement parts if needed Thank you!
Sorry it took so long to reply. Dealing with hurricane cleanup in Panama City. Sometimes the bottom adjuster is set so low that it doesn't put enough pressure on the top part to keep it in the track. Try to unscrew the bottom adjuster so it lifts the door about 1/2 inch.

PITTSBURGH. I got it at Harbor Freight. It's much easier to read that the metal (rusty) one I got at Home Depot. But it quickly became very loose and that makes it difficult to use sometimes. I wedged a piece of thin plastic in it to help.

The problem with my top roller, which is plastic, is that the ac was so strong that a piece of it snapped off. Now the top roller is not long enough to reach the sliding compartment up top.

please hep me i'm a girl lol my door just fell off almost on top of me without me doing anything at all i barely open that side of my bi folds the top track is good the pivots are in place the only problem is that theres no wheel on one of the pivots is it necessary to have a wheel on each pivots, the bracket at the bottom is rusted to the core just like the other side they are both rusted and thats the other reason why the other side fell off the bracket was rusted i don't want to buy new doors would like to buy new pivots and brackets but i don't understand the sizes and everything else thank you great vids
Miria Pagga Since the door is donw ;-) the pins usually pull out real easy. Take pictures of the rest and go to a hardware store. Almost all hardware stores keep the parts in stock. Installing the pins is real easy. But the bottom bracket is not so easy sometimes. If you need to replace that part, you may want to get a little help. If the door is split (like in this video czcams.com/video/ycOWj96iO0s/video.html) you will need to fix that. If you don't it will get worse and then you will have to replace the door. There is usually only one bottom adjustable pivot, one top pivot, and one wheel per bifold door. Good luck.
