- This was the 12th round encounter between Vishy Anand and Sergey Karjakin. Anand had been on fire on day two of the blitz and had scored two wins against So and Mamedyarov. His next opponent was Sergey Karjakin. Would Vishy be able to score his third win in a row? Or would the minister of Defence strike?

i and my homie would have played for another half an hour from where they drew :D :D
😆
Coz it's drawn by repetition.
Amazing that Anand wasn’t able to win this, he had an advantage very early and Karjakin struggled the whole game
But stil manage to settle on draw
karjakin isn't called minister of defense for nothing
His opening is bad for queen side castleing but anand made queen side castle and force to make black to queenside castle which is not give bigger advantage due to his black opening. So black struggled 🤔🤗
plz tell me when the tournament is getting over and the price for the tickets...because i really want to watch the games live there
Can you add a board from the white's perspective to these videos ? It's hard to understand the position from beside.
Anand is clearly winning and is ahead in time. If it's a classical game Karjakin would've resigned already.
I love this channels can also post some tutorials for chess tricks and opening and defences

How could we see the board game? Not able to see such type of game.
Am i the only one who see nakamura at the right table?😂
Yeah u r the only one

Karajakin was in an inferior position very early. He advanced that a-pawn too soon too far and then castles queenside where Anand’s pieces became extremely coordinated on his queenside king position.
Karjakin in Kolkata? I visited the Kolkata tourney on a sunday. I don't remember him to be there
Karjakin was there
Chess is best game
Anand = god of chess.

Qnad was totally wining. But the ending is so tricky its a career of pawns. U never know.
You could tell Karjakin knew he was going to lose just by the body language alone.
Nice
Min.15:17 sergey tenia un jaque de caballo y no lo jugó
what's up with that handshake in the end?

Ohhhhhh draw..🤔
Karjakin will sure be the world's champion one day. Mark my words.
😂
Can someone explain to me why at 14:10 Karjakin takes Anand's pawn with his knight, rather than take Anand's bishop with his pawn? Wouldn't he want to take the more powerful piece and he can protect pawn from promoting with his rook?
First of all, note that Karjakin has better pawn structure at one side while Anand has that on the other side. Now Pawn takes bishop was not played because it would have disrupted Karjakin's pawn structure thereby giving Anand an upper hand with his pawns on the other side of the board, making one of them a potential queen. Dispite taking a more powerful piece, Karjakin would have never been able to develop a Queen from any of his pawns while Anand could have
If he takes Bishop , Anand takes Knight with tempo.
@@vedantbhatt88 That makes a lot of sense - thank you.
um mareli if he would have taken bishop...White rook had taken black knight..And it could also have been double attack on both the pawns..
@@vedantbhatt88 you explain position very well but if pawn take bishop then simply white rook take black knight. And when super gm one pawn up then exchange of pieces increase their chances of losing the game
these Chess handshakes kill all the beauty
Can anybody explain this move 8:20
En passant
vishy is cheating
en passant is a legal move like castling or pawn promotion.

Actually it’s the rook check which was the killer, because without the rook the bishop would be a waste to just capture the pawn lol
sorry but it was pretty easy for anyone above 1500 or 1600
Minister of defense
Ed sheeran as a photographer
That shaking is sooo shitty though....Especially at the end..!
who won?
It was a draw due to repetition. If the same moves are repeated 3 times, it’s a draw. :)
Sonu red
Anand could have won the match ...he had advantage ......I think he should have defended the kingside using the rook instead of pushing the pawn in the queen side...there were counter attack in kingside which could have been neutralized....
Karjakin is also called the Ministry of Defense
at 8 min 20 sec is that move Valid. I do not think so ?
Noel Martin yes it is valid
Yes broo cause it is a en passant rule in chesss

Its called en passant is a legal move like castling or pawn promotion.
@@Shyless2055 when can i use this en passant move???
@@JohnCena-oj1mr after a pawn makes a move of two squares from its starting square, and it could have been captured by an enemy pawn had it advanced only one square. The opponent captures the just-moved pawn "as it passes" through the first square. The result is the same as if the pawn had advanced only one square and the enemy pawn had captured it normally..

Is Anand well known in India?
@Akash Akks He seems like a great person. India is lucky to have him.
Hi
Anand should have won this
Minute 14:48 Anand could’ve had checkmate if he moved his bishop right infront of Karjakins pawn.
there is no check then...
So isn’t it stalemate
there r other moves... only king can't move

Wtf 3 pns against 2 ....if there were Magnus, no doubt he would have won...and 10 sec so much time for him...
Vishy is 50, he's not the same player that he used to be some 10-15 years ago. That old Vishy could have easily challenged Carlsen in Blitz and classical formats. He was too strong then. Now, he seems to be mostly playing for fun.
Couldn't Anand push for a victory rather than drawing?
Become draw like # viswanand fans here
8:20 ? Wtf is that
Its called en passant is a legal move like castling or pawn promotion.
It's a legal move. It's one of the two special rules of chess, the other being castling
