    Anand's pieces move in such coordination...its like a symphony. That middle game with the knights and rooks working in tandem was a masterpiece.

    For people wondering who won, see in which square kings are placed in the end
    1. Both kings are in White - White won
    2. Both kings are in Black - Black won

    Wesley played very poorly, making all kinds of risky provocations ,forgetting about his own development and not playing solid chess.... to top it off, In the lost position had a blunder....

      @@erieees Yup I was with over 2400 rating some 35-40 years ago. Had memorable wins over GM's and IM's. Once I reached my goal, I dropped chess completely, as I didn't want to become a chess professional. Didn't like the lifestyle and there is no money in that business unless you're Magnus.

      I could be wrong, but I think if he captured the rook Wesley would have taken advantage of the pinned knight on e3 by playing Rxg2. When the king is forced to recapture Wesley would've played Bxe3 -- Wesley then winning two knights for the rook. Edit: The time stamp is 11:36

      @@CosyBrew but you lose 2 rooks to get 2 knights and 1 bishop and Rxb1 is coming for possible checkmate , i think anand missed that rook

      @can ege It would have resulted in two rooks versus 3 minor pieces. I think the mate threat could be avoided with the knight and bishop there to defend. But you're right, it's really not clear that what I said is much better for Wesley. It's definitely possible that Anand missed it.

      Rxg2 followed by Bxe3 and then there would be 2 rooks vs 2 bishops and a knight and black's winning

      @@lukeshpatil9055 Wait, it can be stopped, after the exchange blacks light square bishop is eyeing the d5 pawn and at the same time the knight is threatening to move on f4 with check and then take the pawn. If white plays d6 then the dark square bishop goes back to c5 and the pawn can easily be killed

    ChessBase India sucks because the digital screen is not shown which is not acceptable. If it were 1800s then I wouldn't have complained.

    i'm a big fan of Wesley, but his mannerism of clearing his throat is very noticeable in his interviews/videos..and it is sometimes annoying..maybe he should consider undergoing a therapy.
