WCW felt like it went through the attitude era, ruthless aggression era, pg era and modern era in less than 5 yrs
And they took all the worst parts of each era.
I agree but I think the PG era and the modern era are one in the same.

Jack saying Eric Bischoff takes his time with a basic heel promo, is basically how Bischoff says hi when he does his 83 Weeks podcast! Conrad: "How you doing Eric?" Eric: *Takes 25 minutes to say what probably take 3 at the most*
To ne fair, it’s the only podcast where Conrad Thomson isnt able to interrupt every 3 seconds 😂
the best example of Eric waffling on is when Conrad asks him if he regrets not having a profit share on NWO merchandise. Eric must spend at least 10-15 minutes seemingly trying to convince himself that the money doesn't matter, even though it clearly does and he knows full well that he's missed out on millions.
Every Conrad podcast is non stop shilling for his business, shilling for other people and Conrad interrupting

If you thought that was bad Jack, you should see one of the weirdest Thunders of the year 2000 (May 3, 2000) where Vince Russo enforces 'New York Rules', meaning that every match contains no rules, no referees and every wrestler has to count their own pinfall or submission. (By the way, this show takes place in Memphis, Tennesee.) Russo's 'New York Rules' produce a series of matches rife with interference that end in weird and confusing manners where neither the crowd nor commentators know what is going on. Six out of the seven undercard matches go shorter than 5 minutes. Then, the main event is a 41-person battle royal to decide the No.1 contender for the World title, which features an underwhelming final WCW appearance from Randy Savage. I've only seen a few matches from this episode and I already felt like I was losing my mind.

Jack has struck gold with this series this is absolutely wonderful and by the time I got to the end I could not stop laughing props to Luke for the awesome editing as well that made it so much more fun. Keep up the great work guys
This series is already my favorite. Jack is so awkardly funny and Luke's edit job just powers that up. I could hear Jack telling stories from Sunderland or anything else with that delivery.

Both times the Red Liquid™ missed, it was aiming for Kevin Nash. I'm 100% certain that he either flat out said he wasn't taking that "bump," or, and this is more likely, he was told exactly where to stand and purposely moved a few feet over.
i think Kevin Nash was on the booking committee for WCW at this point in time (surprisingly later than the fingerpoke of doom)

WCW 1999-2001 was my very first introduction into wrestling and Jack you have completely encapsulated exactly how it felt back then and all these years later, I'd forgotten what all that frustration and disbelief felt like 😂 this series is brilliant and I can't wait for more! Love the editing on this too 😁.
I’ve never watched an episode of WCW, but going forward Im never going to, I just want Jack to review them all. One of my favourite videos for a while guys. Great work by Jack and Luke.

Great video, but a wee correction; Van Hammer was called Major Stash because he literally refused to be called Private Stash (despite it making perfect sense for his gimmick) because he didn't want to seem beneath his stablemates.
Jack, this is the best series you've ever been a part of. You and the editors are incredible and you can tell you're having so much fun doing it haha.

The thing with Ernest "The Cat" Miller making the ref call a count-out. If I recall correctly, at the start of the Bischoff/Russo era they announced either no count-outs or possibly just no DQs in general. So The Cat was forcing the ref to enforce a rule that he wasn't supposed to.

I honestly cannot put into words how much I love this episode. The emotional roller coaster that Jack goes through is amazing. Plus Luke has done a great job editing this episode. I need more WCW episodes. I will now thank Jack and Luke for going though the pain of watching WCW

I'll be honest, I thought it was gonna be the September 25th, 2000 episode of Nitro (the one where Russo won the title) but that episode has been brought up so many times before. Russo winning wasn't even the weirdest thing on that episode. Worth a look.
Anyone who makes the argument "Yeah WCW in 2000 was bad but have you seen WWE these days?" has never actually watched WCW in 2000. This is incomprehensibly terrible.
It was amazing how fast WCW went from the top to absolutely unwatchable...
I bloody love this series! And yes, please do an episode on GAB 2000 (assuming your already-fraying sanity can take the strain).

This is so embarrassing. WCW still had a great roster in this time period, but wasted them.
11:32 probably the best recreation of Billy Kidman I’ve ever heard. 😂 I watched this episode of nitro right after watching this video and I came back to this part once I heard Billy say the line. Jack’s recreation sounds more like Billy Kidman than Billy Kidman.

Me and my friends were huge WCW fans back in the day. I remember changing the channel after seeing Eric and Vinny Ru were going to be opening the show. The guys I was with asked why I was changing it. I told them we can catch the first match on Raw, Eric and Vinny Ru won't say anything important, and by the time the match is done they will be done talking. Well, 2 out of three wasn't bad. By the time I flipped back to Nitro Eric and Vinny were STILL cutting their promo.
Being a fellow guy who loves weird and silly even I have to put my foot down and say when something is weird. This is one of those times

Man… this is just opening old wounds. I had checked out at this point, completely switched over to WWF (Wrestlemania 2000 just came out for N64) but checked back in every so often and was disappointed every single time.
