U both are SOoo BLESSED. LIFE close to HISTORIACAL ROYAL places.
River encapsulates captures also the present, while hiding ancient things.
❤💙💜 earth sounds & stories U tell.
👍 U know SOoo much.
💋😘
What a beautiful river and sweet little town. My great grandpa Stewart always said that Mary Queen of Scots was our ancestor. Wishful thinking, I believe.
Tried mudlarking today after buying wellies and expecting to find lots of ancient treasure lol. I found amongst other things plenty of modern wine bottles and (truth) a supermarket self scanner. 200 years too early 😂. On the other hand I saw some amazing old bricks, met some Medway crabs and loved EVERY minute of it.
Thank you for traveling 20 Kilometers to upload your finds I hope your have better internet in the near future. ❤️🙏
I love the way you film things. Beautiful.❤️
That you drive 40 miles to upload a video so that we can join you on your journeys is absolutely remarkable! I believe I would love to move to Jedburg. Really beautiful and charming indeed.Thank you so much. I love your channel.
You've picked up so many beautiful pottery and porcelain shards that you don't take with you, patterns I've never seen before, even as an antique dealer in the States. I'm just dying to reach into my screen and pick them up after you lay them back down or walk past them! I've seen so many awesome things made out of shards, like bird baths, stepping stones, hot plates, necklaces, bracelets and on and on, all covered in shards. You're so fortunate to live in such a beautiful, ancient area, so rich in history and treasures, including your home.
Could watch you two all day. You are my reality TV.
Jedburgh is so lovely. Great place for an adventure 😊
Such beautiful landscape, I so enjoy watching you both, you ladies make me smile...where I am we really don't have the agates and other gorgeous gems and such ...I love the way you both are so happy and upbeat...a wonderful mother Daughter relationship and birth enjoying such a great hobby and such...🇨🇦💖🇨🇦💖🇨🇦
Thank you Gayle and Alex! Every episode is an adventure as well as a lesson in history, culture, and science.
The number on the sign is definitely a 9, because the footnote is allways at the bottom right of the number. Also i believe that the beautiful little figur you found is not a soldier but a hunter.
Another wonderful video.
Thank you Both so much.
A wonderful adventure and memorable moments together.
What fun to see the world when things were still normal! And what a lovely village! Thanks for sharing!
❤️
Love all the scenery. Beautiful architecture.
It's nice to have nature
Thank you for taking us along with you. I enjoy seeing the castles and old architecture. It's always a great adventure. Take care and stay safe.😇
Congratulations to Gail and Alex!
The iron wheel is a Fulbate wheel, it belonged to one of the old fashioned push- along mowers. What a beautiful River you searched along, loved the rendition of Green sleeves that went with it-very relaxing.
I love seeing you too having so much fun together and giggling. These videos will be some thing for you to watch the rest of your lives and remember the good times together
That place is gorgeous
Thank you for working so hard to get the stories if your finds out to the world
Thank you for continuing to be what you are - one of the most gentle channels out there. Your videos always bring great calm, along with the relaxing music choices. Look forward to more fun searching the garden!
I would love all those broken bits of pottery to make a patio table top, pavers/stepping stones, or bird baths with. They would make such lovely mosaics!!!
or jewelry!

Looking forward for more videos! Btw Alex, you've got a talent on videography. ❤️ Keep it up! A great duo of mother and daughter. Love you both. 😘 bless you!
I watch you women because of the pace of your movements and the way you see the beauty around you. The look at your surrounding is astounding full of beauty and whomever does the photography has a very fine eye. I also watch because you do the work and tell about history and altogether I love both of you. Thank you so much...................
Thank you for the wonderful video. I really enjoyed the views of the river and the music "Greensleves. Usually I enjoy all the music you play with the scenic views, along with all the fun items you find, and bits of history you give us.
Sigh!! What a fabulous vlog🤩!! Thank you SO much Gail for the beautiful pictures and FASCINATING story about Mary Queen of Scots. She really got a bum deal from her cousin Queen Elizabeth the 1st😒. But Mary got her in the end when James stepped up after Elizabeth died(I think I've got that right🤔? Silly American 😕!)😉👍.
Ahh🤗 your sweet kitty! Is it Blu or Boo? What a beautiful town/village Jedburgh is😊. So scenic and quaint, love it!!
Great round up, such a variety of finds. Fascinating history on the shell bottom😲. COINAGE!!! Can't forget about the coins!!
Stay safe and healthy sister-friends 😉, and Gail...always wearing my favorite purple neck scarf👍. 🤗🤭😘.
Interesting little hunt ladies, I enjoyed your adventure today alongside the river. I'm sure it was very pleasurable to get out of the house and get some fresh air and a little exercise. The thrill of the Hunt is always fun. Stay Well ,stay safe until your next adventure.

The camera work is getting so much better. I prefer the steadier hand that doesn't zoom across the scene so quickly. But it's lovely sharing your beautiful area. Such a wonderful old bridge. You're both such nice people.
I have a fondness for anything Mary Queen of Scots so seeing a home she stayed in made me tear up. The Abbey ruins did the same to me. My heart really belongs in Scotland. Great video again ladies.
Barbara Collins agree. I’m Canadian but have been to Scotland twice and also to Northumberland. My heart definitely belongs in Scotland or the border counties

Because of this video I decided to go mudlarking myself. I only found a dolls plastic leg plus a metal spring, but then I changed rivers and walked over 1 hour along the riverbank, where also was nothing due to too far away from a village or city and all was overgrown with gras which made it impossible to look out, but I photographed the most beautiful pics. I had so much fun, doing this on my own, that I am hooked now and will do it again. I am overweighed and normally I do not walk. I can only recommend it, because it takes your mind of the walking because u r exited to find "stuff" .
I loved the peek out the window!
I really enjoy your videos, great chemistry, I like the music and how you include the sites from your beautiful Countryside and towns, and the treasure hunts are two thumbs up.
Enjoyed rewatching this video. This is a location I have visited when I came to Scotland, many moons ago.
Such a lovely village, what a beautiful place for your journey!
I have similar comment like your other viewers and fans. I find what you do exciting and relaxing. I love your adventures, the information about the items you find, and how you renew your finds with your creativity. Most of all, I love the sweetness and genuine love between a mom and her child.
As usual, a wonderful video, with wonderful music.
The Abbey ruins were amazing!!
So excited for you to dig that mystery object! Stay safe, Gail and Alex!
Follows and Bate Ltd were a manufacturer of horticultural and domestic machinery! I think it’s part of a “marmalade cutter”!!!! How exciting!! Good job lugging it back home! 👏🏼👏🏼☀️🌹🌹Happy Easter 🐣 from Carol in Canada 🇨🇦
I really like the music you use in your videos
So pleased to see Jedburgh, and yourselves of course!, as it is from the actual physical border my way into my favourite country, I think the view from the hills down towards Jedburgh is the most perfect visual and inspirational view in the world
Mystery item: Manual or push lawn mower wheel as Fulbate made them.... I thought that black pottery reminded me of Wedgewood!
What a beautiful place!! ❤️ Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Love your videos even if I'm a bit late seeing them and love your peacocks ..they are so funny following you around like a dog.
I loved Queen Elizabeth When they came out with the silver dollar it was Beautiful I purchased 7 of them I love them.❤
Thankyou so much for your most enjoyable & interesting videos.
Congratulations on reaching 30,000 subscribers! You picked a beautiful place for this adventure. The abbey has lots of interesting history, it was sacked by the English six times over the centuries. Happy Easter from Wisconsin, USA.
You guys are my new favorite channel. Your videos are so beautiful and charming ❤
I love how kitty always makes sure it's in your videos ! :) Wedgewood is such high quality, they have a royal warrant...lots of info on them.
Thank you for taking so much trouble to give us these video's, I had no idea! x
Your videos always make me smile 😊
Your laughing and giggling while playing with the camera reminds me of the quaint old home movies 🎥 I love it thanks for the smile
Maybe take the pieces of lead that you find because the lead will get into the river stream, and therefore will go into the fish/other sea life. Love your channel. Thanks for the entertainment from the states.
I so enjoy your videos. You and your Mum are very personal.
Thank you so much! xx
I really enjoy your treasure hunts b/c you both get so excited about what the general populace would not even stop and take time to consider. Then you take these items and make beautiful things out of them. The history lessons you give show a love of research which I share as well. I love the education from your channel, I like watching you two enjoying yourselves so much, and the music and scenery is always very beautiful. So glad I found this channel.👍🏻
I remember those 50 lire...when I was young...It's true: old age begin when your childhood is archaeollogically interesting... :-D
You two have so much fun together. It's a joy to watch. Love all the history.
Beautiful video. I just love you two. Thank-you for sharing these with all of us, Cheers From Australia xoxo
Alex the river Gods were truly with you on this river lark. And Gale’s information on all the finds was completely fascinating. I just adore you two together. I’m rewatching your videos. Today is Valentines Day in the United States 🇺🇸. So Happy Valentines days to the both of you.
I really enjoyed the video. It helped me relax. I work at a hospital here in Bay City, Michigan and the stress has been getting high, so your videos help relief the stress. We have seen a increase of the Covid cases here and I think in the next week or two we should peak. You two take care and I would love to just see a video of your historic town or villages. I really love the scenery. Take care. Your friend Steve Bonds from Bay City, Michigan USA
The head on the lira isn't Romagnoli's, it's Italia's head (same as Britannia for uk pounds). Romagnoli is the engraver of the coin.
Greets from Italy :D
I'm very impressed and grateful that you ladies make a 20 mile round trip to upload the videos that excite and entertain us so! Thank you so very much. I appreciate all you do to provide such good content and most especially at this difficult time! Much love and well wishes from Indiana, USA 💕💕💕
They actually make a 40 mile round trip, it’s 20 miles one way.😳 That is definitely impressive.☺️👍
Beautiful and peaceful there
Oh My it’s so beautiful there love watching your videos
I loved the bit about Mary queen of Scotland, and the house she rented. Thank you Very interested in anything about her history.
“Wheee!” I especially enjoyed your playful silliness today. Thanks for the smiles!
The metal ring looks similar to a needle stitching frame, there was a wooden inner ring, fabric stretched and clamped using the metal outer ring.
Interesting, you have a remnant of a shotgun shell made in Birmingham, an Italian coin with Vulcan on the back. Interesting because the sister city of Birmingham, England is Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Which is also the home of the world's largest cast iron statue, Vulcan.
Donnie, that is a very interesting tidbit of information. I also love making connections with ppl/places/things as you did!
Very Interesting ! Thank you Ladies ! x
Hi Mike, great tutorial again as always!
When I found you ladies I didn't know what mudlarking was. I was curious so why clicked on your video. And boy was I surprised and I really enjoyed it. So I subscribed. That was when you had around 10000 subscribers and now look at you with more than 30,000
Those heavily eroded banks along the river are a great place to look for Neolithic artifacts and other evidence of early Man . Happy Hunting !
We love the lead figure such a amazing thing to find and the coin! I am intrigued to see what you find at the bottom of your hole. Oh to have a big enough garden to dig such a hole haha xx
Those were lucky finds - the Victorian 1/2 and lead bugler - one wonders how long that L50 has sat besides the river? Jedburgh is well worth visiting and has (when we visited) lovely independent shops! And the ruins and Mary Queen of Scots house all worth a decko. Such a history-soaked part of the British Isles, and you are blessed to live in such a gorgeous locale! CONGRATS on your milestone - wonder where you'll be this time next year - let's hope OUT of lockdown at least!! 👍🐶😎🐾🦘
Hey Alex, hey Gail. I hope you're alright. I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. They really help me to calm down at the end of the day, to stop the seemingly never stopping train of thoughts, so I finally can go to sleep, after watching your videos. So thank you, for distracting me, from daily challenges and calming me down.
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching! xx
Oh my love those viliiages
Woohoo congratulations to you both xx
Happy Easter it is always nice to see your videos I hope you have lots of footage to carry us through this time of boredom
The writing was Oh my love is like a red red rose by Robert Burns. My friends lived in Chesters I recognised the road. The Brick works of Scotland is a fascinating site. Those two bricks were made around Edinburgh. Good finds.Thank you.
And I loved the mural of Scottish history, with the three witches from Macbeth, Queen Mary...and the UFOs!
As a thought:
You find a lot of bricks by different companies. Why not bring them home and make a garden border or path out of them? Maybe one of every maker?
Is the mystery object a drain cover of some sort?
Rocks Cousteau has 100s of them
I did that here in New Hampshire, USA, for ages lobstermen have used bricks from all around to weight there traps that wash up onshore.
Yes! This is exactly what I have been saying!!! A path, patio, or edging for the the flower beds. What a way to not only have a mento of all there adventures, but have history literally at their feet!
They are so heavy It's hard to bring them out to wherever their car is parked.
Thank you so much for some much needed entertainment during our Easter Sunday incarceration 🐰🐣
Amazing variety of blue ware and other bits. Nice Victorian coin find! Thanks for an interesting video.
My wife and I love your videos. They are very restful and entertaining while giving us a sense of the peacefulness you both must feel when you are out and about in these wonderful places you go. We all need that right now; especially here in the USA where our lives are being torn apart by the pandemic and our own governments lack of brains or care.
Happy Easter to the both you and nice fines fun video too!!!; )
I would love to visit Scotland someday
YEEEESSSS! You guys keep on making me happy during these times! You are amazing :)
Thank you ☮️🇨🇦
I’m rewatching your video and you have gone way past 30K. You are over 90K!!!!
Been to Scotland and England loved it glad I got to see the beautiful castles and scenery, it is my heritage and ancestry
Love the videos very fun and exciting!! Stay safe
Happy Easter 🐣🐣🐤🐇🐓
What an Easter treat😊Thanks Northern Mudlarks! Happy Easter 🐇
I believe that piece you thought was a part of a bed is the housing of a spigot.. most likely for gas.
Well done on your milestone, you will make the 100k no problem, your videos are great.
The nice thing about hunting along freshwater is that non-ferrous metals do not corrode away and keep their detail unlike those found in brackish or salt waters. That iron wheel you found early in the walkabout was from a freight cart used to ferry goods between factories to wagons, lorries, barges, ships, etc. Might have been from anywhere of the 1600s through the early quarter of the 20th century. The writing on that wheel would have told you of the time it was made and used.
I enjoy your vedios GOD BLESS
