The bike is a German made MZ. It'll probably be a 250cc 2 stroke single. I hope that clears the mystery for you? Love the vids.

@@mariebelladonna437 hi, MZ is an old company and were located in East Germany I believe after the war. That particular bike they pulled out,will most probably date from the seventies or possibly early eighties, as they made the same model for a number of years.

You go to someone's country and attach a love lock where is says NOT TO DO IT!
There are signs all over the bridges theat say not to do it.
The city has to pay people to cut them off.

Totally agree. Maybe give them Freedom of the City or a Memorial Key to the City. They do such a fantastic job cleaning up the canals & rivers wherever they go. 🥰

Most of the stuff is left for the city's garbage disposal folks to get rid off. I imagine in this one the only thing he might have kept is the cool key. It was nice to see the French couple's main purpose is getting rid of pollution. I'm often surprised Lee (Leigh?) doesn't talk more often about cleaning up the rivers & canals. Instead he talks about 'treasure'. His thrill in the hunt is infectious.
He doesn't need to talk about cleaning up the rivers/canals. It's pretty obvious from the stuff he gets out, that's exactly what he's doing
This really does make you think how awesome people are. Hearing people of multiple languages achieve a goal together, shouting "un, deux, trois" in French to heave a bike out of a canal.. pretty impressive stuff. Restores your faith in humanity a lot.
That was heart-stopping to watch! I could feel the energy through my tablet screen, watching that group, throwing their whole collective strength into pulling that motorbike out of the canal. I’m always amazed at Nikki’s filming abilities as well. She captures every movement and emotion. Epic video Leigh!

Did they say anything what they do with the stuff? In Germany it's expensive to get rid of waste. So when you find broken bike you have to pay for it to let it go to recycling.
They’re not doing it for the environment, they’re doing it to find valuable treasures 😅😂

Suggestion: A simple A frame at the edge of the wall with a tether and pulley to allow it to lean over the water a little would allow you to lift a motor bike with three people instead of 11. Most of the force you enlisted on this exercise just pulled against the wall not lifting the bike.
Well it's much easier to get the assistance of 10 people than it is to create a frame
@@zen4realfightman426 A triangle (A frame) of three pieces of wood about a metre long could be reused lifting any heavy treasure. The inefficient dragging of the rope on the edge of the canal wall has been demonstrated over and over so it's a choice of smart v lazy. O.S.
But it will be fun with everyone joining
there are bunch of A frames already in that water.. :-)
@@prakash27502 It just suprises me that the treasure hunters don't equip themselves a bit better. Yes, more passers by joining in is more fun but the ropes would last longer, the result for effort would be better and some of the frustration of lifting could be minimised with a small piece of hardware.

People are doing magnet fishing all the time in Paris. No reason at all to make the local news. Unless it's a big operation to clean an area completely like Canal Saint Martin few years ago.

Let me ask 2 questions: 1. What drives you to do magnet fishing? 2. Where do you keep all the objects you find in water bodies?
I don't think he keeps any of it! Seems it gets tossed in the bins or leaned against the wall. My guess is keeps coins he can spend.
