Man, I was generally always an Advent Rebels player, but hearing those TEC voicelines really made me nostalgic all the same.
Same here. AR were the best when used correctly, not ot mention lore behind them.
Excellent....... Sins of a Solar Empire 2.... and the intro music to the video.... is Stellaris 👍
A good comparison would be Supreme Commander. It’s only related to StarCraft in the sense that it has a real time order structure, the micro aspect is present in Sins in a certain aspect, capital ships and unit have abilities but it was more about logistics. You win if you can feed more units into the right fight, not by timing activations or positioning.
My first custom Stellaris civ was the Vasari Empire. :)
This is one of the games I was most worried about as Sins is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm so glad it looks like they put their efforts into making a great game and not some junk to please shareholders.
Looks impressive. The rotating planets is the first thing I'd disable. ;) Thanks for showing us a great game!
same, super gimmicky lol and god knows how AI deal with it let alone people haha. rest looks awesome
Can't wait for the mods, fighting against the Borg with this engine will be so awesome.
It looks like Terra Invicta's features are spreading (moving strategy map)! I'm a huge fan of SoaSE, so I'm not entirely upset about it.
really hope SoaSE 2 turns out well after it releases and continues getting support like the paradox games. .Has a great potential, hopefulyl it won't be a flake
Wow what made you play this. Nice to see something similar which is not stellaris for a change. More of this please, specially when it releases on steam
Honestly this just seems like the old Sins of a Solar empire but updated to actually run on modern PCs' (and that's not necessarily a bad thing)
I also remember reading that ships are actually animated which is kind of cool. Sins was always a don’t look too closely kind of game, it deserves a chance to be pretty up close.
Even the voice lines are exactly the same. If it is just as fun with a few new features added and a decent price it's fine with me.
But if they go for anything like 50€ for just an engine upgrade, I'd have to wait for a sale
I always played vasari, loved how their starbases actually moved and how the vasari was able to make gateways. Though i hope this time everyone can do gateways.
I can't believe it. You sat on the left hand side? This is heresy, torches!
Wish it would spread the build queue around to all available ship yards or let you pick... seems like it just always default builds at your home planet.
Its like Stellaris but with Excitement and real battles, and graphics, and no lag or slowdowns.
I adored the first game, Stellaris was the first reason I pulled away, but by god, it’s good to get some competition back in the field!
My less favorable faction was Vesari Loyalist (Exodus now I think) and Advent Loyalist in that order, while my favorite was Advent Rebels following by Vesari Rebels and... TEC Loyalists.
Was that a Freudian Slip? Fourth faction… is what was chasing the Vasari coming?
CAN you turn off the unit silhouettes for a more realism look ? or at least turn off the ones for missiles and stuff ?
There's a keybind for that in Sins 1, so I assume it's in here somewhere.
This looks gorgeous. Glad to see they are using a new engine.
Oh man you should see it in action. Though wait til Steam release. It's not just how great everything looks, it's how well everything performs.
Very interestedin this game cant wait.
Went the entire stream without building a single harcka cruiser somehow.
I must have played the original SoaSE couple of thousands of hours. I have not been playing the sequel for a lot, though, since my fav faction hasn't been in the game. I need proper lasers....
The game is basically just sins remastered, and I am completely okay with that! loved this game except for the late game lag especially on big maps.
I hope there are ways of speeding up the matches without breaking the nature of the game, specially in MP, as 3 hours sessions are kind of unthinkable these days
Hey montu can you throw us dogs a bone and tell us when this is going to be released other than summer, are we going to see a suprise release in the next few weeks ?
Steam says Q3 2024, so I'd expect something like September, knowing how game release schedules go.
August or September is the release date as of now
I still love Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion, I do play more Stellaris these days but what is really the big difference here? don't get me wrong, I purchased Sins 2 the moment it was announced but waiting for it to be complete before playing, so far it still feels like Rebellion is much more complete and in-depth game then sins 2, am I wrong? is this just a graphics update?
So I paid for early access on epic but some how you have a version with more content. I have to say that burns my biscuits...
Just as I mentioned at the start of the stream! This is an advance preview of the version coming to steam (and Epic) a little later this year).
@@MontuPlays The version I paid for on Epic should be up to date is my point. Technically it's fully released on Epic. My criticism here is pointed directly at the developers. I have two versions available to me on Epic. What looks like a normal version and a test version. Maybe the test version is the same as your technical preview, but have no way of knowing other than installing it and testing it I guess.
Test version dosent have updated some UI but his special version dosent have some maps
@@MontuPlays Looks like they are both the same version number. Regardless I am super excited for the full release and hopefully the modding community will do their thing as with the first :)
This strikes me as Rebellion but with the E4X mod installed along side a neat new mechanic and a few cosmetic changes. dont get me wrong, the game is gorgeous and I'm certainly gonna buy it. But IDK feels like an expansion rather than a sequel to me from what I have seen so far.
gonna be honest, i have 200 hours in sins, yet ive never played vanila, only with starwars skin mods lol
No advent, no play.
Advent is coming. They are not finished yet
that cartoon thing in the bottom right corner was just to distracting to enjoy the vid.
You mean bottom left
Did they just copied and pasted all the musics and voicelines from the one ? :') Sure it gives some good old nostalgia but I think it would have been good to have some new musics (on top on the old ones, not just replacing them :) )
New voice lines and music have been promised for the summer update.
Not a fan of avatar characters to hide creators faces.
Lmao not enough factions or custom ones nah instant garbage
