    Quick question
    After the redirect do i delete the old page or will google take care of it?

      Good question. There's no need to delete the page after putting in a 301 redirect. When Google sees the 301 redirect, it assumes the old page that was redirected is permanently gone and applies what it "knew" about that old page to the new destination.
      I suppose the only exception would be if your CMS is getting cluttered with lots of old pages and you want to clean things up. In that case, you could delete the old page that has been redirected after Google sees the redirect.
      Google came out and said that you should keep that redirect in place for at least a year. And there's nothing wrong with keeping it in place for longer (like forever).
