My husband passed in 1975 and is buried in Cottonwood. After his funeral we went up to Jerome. I bet it has changed after all these years.
Cottonwood, yes. Jerome, probably not like the rest of AZ.
🖤
That circular topped building just across the street from the public parking lot was the Ford Dealership, my father was the assistant parts manager there when he moved to Arizona from Arkansas. Up the street about 2-3 buildings on the same side of the street was my grandfather's barber shop.
You might also want to visit the Copper Museum in the old Clarkdale High School.
Hey Russ, can you do a video about your RVerTV vehicles? I was watching one of your older ones - from 2016 I think - and at that time you had a big Class A motorhome. Seems to me that this year you are driving a different Sprinter van than you were a couple years ago. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on your downsizing and what you liked and didn't about the different RVs you've owned. Thanks
Hi Russ , I know this is just a opinion. But , it needs to be said . You do the best RV travel site !!!! I like the way you just get straight into the Journey!!!! Thank You !!!! 👍
thank you Ralph
@@rvertv That shop assistant, still scared of "covid".🤣
Hey, Hey It's RVerTV Russ ,Thanks for letting us all Pile in and Ride Along to Day my Friend. TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL 👍
Any time
This is where I spent most of my first 23 years and you pronounced Tuzigoot perfectly!
Hi Russ, thanks for the tour of Cottonwood. There are a couple of other highlights in old Town. The Iron Horse Inn is a quaint Place to stay with a nice patio area. The gas station with the antique pumps and car is actually a diner and soda fountain. Enjoyed the tour!
Thanks Russ. I visited Cottonwood in 2016 but it was a quick lunch stop. It looks nice, I need to return. By the way, Elvis partly filmed Stay Away, Joe in Cottonwood
When in Jerome, treat yourself to a wonderful burger at Haunted Hamburgers. It’s a must stop!!! Also, their desserts are awesome too!!……Russell D.
Hey Russ - THANK YOU! We are considering moving to Cottonwood and this was the perfect tour of the area.
The Shep’s liquor sign, still there is amazing, my kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Shepard of the same family.
Surprise to see so many trees and a slight view of the moon. Great tour of the Monument. Thanks Russ.
Very welcome
Hey Russ!!! Another "SUNNY" Day in "ARIZONA "!!! Makes one "HAPPY"!!!
Nice to see Cottonwood again; been a very long time; keep up the journey 😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
Go back to that Cafe with the chairs outside and eat there. You won't be disappointed.
If you haven't made it to Jerome yet, (and haven't seen this), there's a very old movie theater in Jerome that you can visit, they have a collection of old projectors etc. Very neat
The complex you said was a copper mine is actually Salt River Materials, aka Phoenix Cement. It was built between 1956-59 to produce cement for Glen Canyon dam in Page, Az. Trucks were running between Clarkdale and Page 24 hours a day for 4 years with cement for the dam. It is now sending concrete to the 2 microchip plants in Phoenix and Chandler Az
Love cottonwood been few time .great Mexican restaurant great food .sports bars .had wild peacocks walking about when we were there .great place .
Tuzigoot great place to visit too. keep on running Russ.
👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great Video. Thanks Russ. Brought back more good memories of my winter in AZ. Again, when my brother and i stopped there, we were the only ones on sight. Spent time with a Ranger and he gave us a very informative tour.
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting place, worth considering vs staying in Sedona maybe.
Thanks for the tour of the ruins, Russ! The Tuzigoot/Montezuma Well/Montezuma Castle trio is a nice combination of National Parks travelers can check out in a day trip. It's been awhile since I've been too Tuzigoot,--looks like they've done some nice upgrades to the visitor access of the ruins. Another attraction in the area that I enjoyed is the Verde Canyon RR.
So glad that you go to these small museums and native American sites! I would not know about them otherwise!❤️
If you are in the Verde Valley for a few days, be sure and stop in at Fort Verde State Historic Park in Camp Verde.
Im in love with all these little old town villages
Cottonwood is a fun place. We live in Phoenix and have taken day trips to shop at Larry's Antiques (at the corner before the main street). After walking through there, we go next door to Bing's Burger Station for a real good burger and onion rings. I've also camped at Dead Horse State Park before. The Verde River area is really nice and glad you got to see it for yourself. Peace! Pete in AZ.
Russ. . Thanks for taking me along. Love ur choice of stops. Love this documented old history.
"Wow! Look at all the busted pottery..." That was about all I could take.
You keep on trucking, and I will keep on watching your great videos----
Love your history information...ruins great..enjoy the wine and the history....
Thanks Russ for showcasing the “minor” National Monuments which add to our interpretation of history! Stay safe!
Thanks Russ, I enjoy seeing Ancestral Puebloan artifacts, pottery and the national monuments. Thank you so much. I’ve seen a few but not all of them. Thank you for showing Tuzigoot! (It is fun to say!) 😆
Happy Trails - United States America - Russ - RVerTV Fans . Thank you Russ for RVerTV - BEST TV ON CZcams.
Great video again Russ.
I think the smelter was located there. The road looks a lot different than when I drove through there in 1950.
Russ, Thank you for taking us.
Cool video Russ thanks Russ
WOW...loved the ruins and the Views...beautiful.Thank you again, I so enjoy it!
Glad you enjoyed it
3 years ago (in March) we enjoyed around Flagstaff, Payson and the Mogollon Rim area and the Sedona area. We always found a place to camp without reservations...But when we got to the Cottonwood/Verde Valley area it was packed and crowded everywhere so we said "no thanks, see ya later" and we left...Nice to see what it at least looked like from your visit Russ. Thanks!
Thank you Russ, what great videos
Glad you like them!
Love the area - need to return since last time I was distracted by the Alcantara Vineyards and Winery - beautiful.
Cottonwood looks like a good little town. I’ve enjoyed the video this spring.
Cottonwood looks such a cool old town. The ruins were very interesting, must have been tuff to live back then. Thanks for today’s run. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Fun video, I am jealous of your beautiful weather. We are getting a lot of rain here in Oregon. Can't wait to see those ruins for myself. Thanks for the great drone video. Safe travels.
Thanks! You too!
Thankfully we are getting rain in Oregon. We could certainly use it and some snow in the mts.
Slowing down and smelling the Rose's or cactus blossoms in your back yard is too cool for school. Imagine living many years ago in the desert heat without AC. Probably had a camel livery stable. Lol. Had to be tough times. Seems like every generation has some sort of problems to sort out. Enjoying the adventure. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
So true!
We used to get much more rain and monsoons.
a good snow west of Denver this week soo dry any moisture is welcome
Never ah disappointment Mr. Russ greatly done👍🤠🌴🇺🇸
Another Awesome Video ~ this time Cottonwood ~ you find the best places to explore and share w/ your audience Thank You , as always !!

I love old town Cottonwood. I've yet to take the Verde Valley Railroad, but it's on the list.
I enjoyed this episode of What is Cottonwood Arizona known for? History and wine.
Awesome. Enjoying being on the road!
More to come!
Coolness, another good one. We live in Paulden, just the other side of the mountain, we'll have to go and " Check it out " 😊
Absolutely Fantastic!!!
.
FIVE STARS for mentioning
TIMING!
To Hot,
To Cold and
To FULL of everything!
I'm in Prescitt so I can afford
To be CHOSEY--------CHEERS!
See ya down the Road.
Great video.
Hey Russ, you missed the best place to stay at The Tavern Hotel, and Nick's Italian. Love their Martinis! Thank you for sharing!
Next time!
We ate at Nick's back in '16. Stayed at Dead Horse RAnch for almost a week and explored the area. Lots to see.
🙋♀️Hello Russ! I love seeing Historic Old Town Cottonwood, your reflection in the glass, the Tuzigoot National Monument, the museum had some neat clay pots people use to use. I didn't notice any fireplaces or chimneys in those homes. I guess much is left to the imagination as to how they lived, in such a tight nit(?)community. Fascinating. They were nice stone homes.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
knit... but nit is close enough. Cottonwood and that area is really great.
I've been there. Pretty cool.
I really liked this video of the ruins. Cool stuff. And...loving the blue sky, we had snow off and on all day today in OH. 🥶
Oh wow!
Pretty amazing stuff. Good work
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful images MrRuss👍🏻🌝😎
Many thanks
Columbia, MO got sleet on Easter Sunday.
I like your new wagon
be safe out there
Come see us in Prescott. Cottonwood is really fun.. so is Prescott
Spent a week in Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood for a week Thanksgiving 2018. My first real stop on my maiden trip to PSW.
Then back for another week in January 2019 as I had a friend visit that wanted to explore Sedona. Came back in March 2019 to go hiking with a lady I met from California whose parents live in Cottonwood. Motorcycle rides around Sedona and up to Jerome up to Prescott. Love the area!!!
It's a long way from Australia but I hope to be back in September to "check it out"
good tourist destination
As you said, all the campgrounds are full as well as any RV parks. I live in north Phoenix and was looking to get my new trailer out to shake it down before my Eastern Sierra fishing trip, no luck...
Do you realize that the area right next door to Cottonwood is Cornville, (You could throw a rock...). This is where the John McCain Ranch is, or maybe was, since he is no longer there.)
Too zee GOOT is in fact the way we say it in the Verde Valley! 🏅
It's great to see all those places again after 3 years. The copper " Baron's mansion" in Jerome, "Check it out"!!
Beautiful old town.
It sure is!
Haunted Hamburger and the Grand Hotel in Jerome are must visits.
I miss Prescott! Lived there 22 yrs, so much to peruse.
Fires south of Prescott now 🙏
We just left Cottonwood, Jerome was a pretty cool town. We almost got stuck in the forest fire north of Flagstaff today. We were camping there and smoke came rolling across and we had to evacuate. Safe travels. 😊
Oh wow!
Hi Russ ..happy trails 😊
Hey, thanks
awesome vid Russ nice riding shotgun with ya!
My spouse has a park pass, saved us so much money
Thanks for the trip again. What is the weather like in the winter? Snowbird asking.
I’ll be RVing around there in October for 28 days.
i love ❤ your videos dealin with the FtMojave,BHC GEN area as i grew up thier.. lived in Ft.Mojave area, Grad of Mojave High& was a Certified Sous chef out of River palms- Harris casino circa 1980-2007..lol before movin out for good!!. lol ,but as a side sad note... any thing Cottonwood..is historical i find as theirs are not many leftin any area as far as i know even back in 1980.. water suckin!! and where wiped out because of there water use...😪... just say in.., keep postin kinded sir!! n ty!! ..
Hey Russ. You sure you are in Cottonwood and not Quartzite? That highway looks as rough as the roadway out by Scaddan Wash BLM... LOL. Liked your comment on the sign about footprints and pictures. I learned that one about 55 years ago when I was a tenderfoot Boy Scout and it has stuck with me all these years. Thanks for reminding people. Also, leave the spray cans at home. Thank you again for taking us along for the ride!
The Sedona, and especially the Prescott airports, tho small, are quite busy...
There's a nice river there we walked it years ago
Bought a truck and made a freind in cottonwood couple years ago.
That road looks mighty ruff is that the main street.?.. Really enjoy the stories you share in your videos.
Yes it was
I think if u hiked that trail or some others in your videos/ it would add ALOT/ THX
Watch out for pot holes! poor road maintenance
Love Cottonwood az theirs a UFO museum in that strip plaza.
This is great window shopping . List is already crossed off! Have you tried your bike on any trails? Take care & thanks again!
Not yet!
Would you please do Ridgecrest, CA, area? Trona Pinnacles area.
Prescott? A few folks have told me how to get there, but I keep winding up in Preskitt. 😊
"They probably had a satellite dish up there" 👍😂
TUZIGOOT TV
Good one
So pretty, those little rooms or squares. I wonder if the natives used animal skins to protect themselves from rain or just to create a roof.
What is the name of the tune that is played when the drone goes up? That tune is super cool.
Walls By Dawn Chorus from Artlist Music
@@rvertv Thanks, much appreciated.
What you kept calling a copper mine is actually the Clarkdale Cement Plant.
On your way to Tuzigoot from old town Cottonwood, you point out a feature in the distance calling it a big copper mine. That is not a copper mine. That is Salt River Materials Group / Phoenix Cement manufacturing plant. The tall tower you see in the distance is called the Preheat tower where the raw crushed material from the earth (limestone, bauxite, gypsum, and many other raw earth materials) is filtered down through the tower as it heats up and eventually is sent through a large kiln. The kiln burns at approximately 2500 degrees and provides the energy for the chemical composition change that results in the formation of cement.
Do you know if you can take 2 small dogs with you into the towns and the monuments on leash? We travel all over in our 5th wheel with our fur babies and don’t want to leave them in it hole we site see.
Those buildings grouped together look like condos.
What about retiring in Cottonwood? Need something to keep my retirement on a semi-busy mode.
I enjoy all your videos. Keep it up.
I appreciate that!
