I just changed mine to android in the builder and fixed up the errors took 5 extra minutes and worked smoothly
what do I do if the avatar when I load into the game it’s just the gray vrchat robot.. cause I’ve been trying to figure that out cause it’s not supposed to be the vrchat robot
you can just go when you have 2 different accounts like me you can ho on quest and copie your made avatar from pc

It's been like nearly 4 years since the last time I made an VRChat avatar in SDK2. Never done SDK3 avatar before...
thanks so much for this. I've spent nearly 500 hours in VRchat and I've grown sick of using the same public avatars and this opens up a much larger range of options and customization. If you end up making more tutorials on further avatar customization I would be the first to watch it.

Having an issues in the uploading section, when I press build and publish it just hangs on building Avatar and doesn't progress any further. All my Unity and SDK are up to date. Anyone had this?

I have gotten farther than i did before but I am stuck when its time to create a 2019.4.31 project. It is saying that the project "failed to open" and is "not valid". I thought I maybe didnt had dowload it right so i redownload it, but its saying the same thing. So i dont know anymore, any idea how to fix that ?

Everytime I import the SDK it says that I need an API update (idk what API is). When I click "Go Ahead", which says that will update any old API, I get an error saying "failed to update aseemblies" and the VRchatSDK on top left corner does not appear. I did everything you said on the video but still get the error. The Unity version is the one you said and SDK its the most recent
Could there be any other way to download the sdk avatar file? The website says creator companion downloads it for me but i cant find the same file you are using. I tried to use the one from the website but it wont let me log in or change my password

I am a little confused, I log in into SDK but how do I get it into vrchat after I've done everything in Unity?
At 8:18 i cant seem to find the vrc scripts does anyone know why?
i dont have the option to build and pub;lish and when i can it keeps giving me an error when i save it

I did everything like you said, but when I import the SDK that "VrChat SDK" thing in the upper left doesn't appear and the folder i imported doesn't appear in Assets neither
I mispoke in the video, the sdk stuff will be in the "packages" folder not assets. However, if you import the sdk correctly by either double-clicking it in your file explorer or dragging into your assets, it should definitely show VRChat SDK in the top left corner. Make sure it's the correct Unity version and check for errors in the console if necessary. Hope this helps!
@@Savvy_VR It worked after some tries even tho I was puttin in the assets, but then when I upload it nothing happens for like 15 minutes so I just close it and go do something else

not sure why put i dont have the vrc discriptor thing in add component
so im a bit confused.. i followed the tutorial correctly and everything worked fine the whole way thru but the video ended when u sign in. am i rlly done? doesnt it need to be imported or published or something like that? or from where the video leaves off, itll just be in my avatars list when i sign in?
Yes you’ll upload it after signing into your account, it will say “unpublished avatar” and you “auto fix” any errors preventing you from uploading. To upload, you’ll just hit build and publish. It will then ask you to name your avatar and set private or public which is up to you

Is there a reason why whenever I import my model into Unity it doesn't have any color? I also ran into a problem saying I need an animation for my avatar.
Find the materials folder for the avatar model and change them to Poiyomi as shown here 9:25

@@arsonisttic the animation tab is not needed for upload, just to make animations. I added it before I filmed

When making multiple avatars, do you make a new project for each one, or is there a way to use one project for all avatars.
I prefer separate, but you can do either way. If you do decide to have more than one in the same project make sure you change the pipeline manager number- that's what defines your avatar upload. If two avatars have the same pipeline manager number they will be the same upload file meaning you're still updating the same one avatar only

i bought an avatar, and when I tried to put the VRCsdk it would not let me, and i tried a bunch of times, but everytime i tried it wouldn't work. Do you might think you can help me? great tutorial btw and great explaining but this is the only problem i have.
My discord is Not Savvy#2333 -Make sure you have the correct version of Unity loaded up and the correct SDK3 package from VRChat's website. Just drag the SDK package into your assets to import it, then go ahead and import your avatar :)

I'm trying to add this model in unity, but the model won't open from the file, and I do what you did. but when I do it, it won't open, do you know what the problem is?
Make sure you're importing a .unitypackage file
Every time I try installing the 2019.4.3 it tells me that it failed to install... please help :c ive been having this issue for a long time a couple months in fact and nothing i do seems to work
Make sure your hard drive has space! Other basics things such as internet could be part of it
I followed your steps- but i keep seeing errors about how theres too many polygons and too many shaders. How can i fix this problem?
Are you building on quest platform? Could be why. If they are unity console errors, those are super common. Generally speaking as long as they aren’t compile errors preventing you from going into play mode or uploading the avi, they aren’t worrying about.
this seems helpful and ive tried but everytime i put in the SDK it wil go in but then i have to go like scavenger hunt just to find it cause it wont even show the SDK pannel
Once the SDK is imported you'll see "VRChat SDK" in the top left white of your Unity project. Click that to log in

yeah, I'm having the same issue anyone have a fix for this.
just closed and reopened and now I see some vr chat components but only like phys bones no descriptor i can find the descriptor in the sdk files but does not show up when trying to add component.
i have found the answer to our question my friend click on the prefab and in the inspector menu should be a button that says open prefab click it then it should show the to missing scripts he deletes in the video as he does delete these then click add component and then search vrc and vrc descriptor should be there.

I'm not too familiar with uploading worlds, sorry! There's plenty of other creators who could give you much better direction than me on that.

What if the SDK keeps saying that it needs an update? even though its on the newest version?
Make sure it’s an SDK3 package not SDK2, and that you’re Unity is up to date (2019.4.31). If you’re using an altered SDK you can always download the official VRChat one as shown in the video

Why not use Companion instead of manually getting the sdk?
I know i'm 6 months late, but there is a genuine reason: the creator companion only supports windows, so if you're trying to do this on linux or mac it simply isn't an option. It's something that's been a massive problem for me, as i'm running linux, and this is the only up-to-date tutorial i can find that doesn't require the companion. Hope that helps answer your question, even if it is a little late!

Can you log into the SDK if you use Steam to log into VRC?
Yes you're just going to use your VRChat login credentials when you login to upload on the SDK

HOW DO I MOVE THE CAMERA AROUND
To look around in the scene, you just hold right mouse click and use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out. If you mean the game camera (in the scene), it's just an object that can be moved and rotated like any other object by clicking it, going to the inspector, and change the values to where you want it. Or if you have the move tool selected, you'll just use the arrows to move it on screen
where did you get the vrc descriptor?
Once the sdk is imported, click your avatar in the hierarchy then move over to the inspector, "add component" then find the vrc avatar descriptor

tons of errors depending on what avatar you use, some free avatars have some issues with blue prints and etc, seriously what a pain in the ass
Yes, it can be frustrating to find good models. That’s why I usually upload goofy/simple avatars with funny animations, sounds, or effects, since I’m more experienced in that area. Avatar optimization and proper rigging can be done, but it just takes time to learn
@@Savvy_VR iTs a lot of trial and error indeed! because there is not a good and stable source of info since everything around is pretty much wild and "uncovered". Even the simplest issue might be tremendous for people who just started.
