  • We get a bad rap as motorcyclists. Sometimes we deserve it. I just want people to see the good in bikers like I do, and I'm trying to share a little love. Maybe I'm delirious, but ya gotta try. Don't ya? Anyway, Im pleading with people to post some of the good that I see y'all do!
If you want to record yourself doing these good deeds, Ive got a link for you! I recorded this with my trusty Insta360 cameras! The Insta360 AcePro, and the 1RS. Buy your camera with my link and it helps the channel a great deal, and you get a free gift! Thanks!! www.insta360.com/sal/ace-pro?...

No kidding man! When that guy in Philly pullled a gun on that car a year or two ago. Everybody else paid the price.

The reason so many "hate" us is because of the way we ride. Primarily the speed we ride at and the unpredictability that results. We know how much room we need to pass or whether lane splitting is reasonable, etc. However, it's extremely unnerving to some poor sap in an automobile when a motorcycle speeds into their space from seemingly out of nowhere. Speed and maneuverability are primary reasons we enjoy riding, so asking riders to slow down and respect others is not well received by our community. IF we ever hope to reduce the hate, we MUST change riding habits. Helping old ladies across the street is nice but gets totally cancelled out when we ride off from the good deed in a manner that causes consternation to other people sharing the road.

I totally get you. I have been a passenger when an R1 lane split. With an exhaust. I was the only rider in the car. I thought there was plenty of room, and I thought nice bike. The driver jumped in her seat, heart pounding. The other passengers were startled.
Im not delusional. I know my small channel isn’t going to change anything. I can contribute a little bit. I talk to riders all the time who do really nice shit for people. I wanted to give people a reason to post a little positivity. Like I said, I’m not a crazy dogooder. I just want people to see a little good.
There will always be a divide. If lane splitting was legal, it would add a little normalcy. Taking the crazy down a notch is a good idea also. It’s all will power, and locale. I can get out of town easily and let my bikes go wild on empty country roads. When I lived in Philly, that wasn’t an option. It was down right crazy.
Thanks for checking out my vid. I knew I would get a little slack for the little old lady thing. It was icy, she was scared. It was a good metaphor for the point I was trying to make. You don’t want to be, hey look at what a great person I am!!!!!!!! I was trying to give the people who watched my vid a reason to do that. I think it’s positive on social media to see that. You agree? Post the good deed on social, shut up about it otherwise.

We as a community are locked in a vicious death spiral: bad riders piss off cagers with their reckless riding, who then take out their anger and prejudice on other bikers, who eventually get tired of almost getting run off the road and start riding more aggressive themselves.
I’ve been riding for over 20 years on the street, and have seen A LOT of idiots almost accidentally run me over… but it’s only been the last few years I started seeing people ACTIVELY try and run me off the road.

I used to only ride at 3am when I lived in Philly. The only time it was low stress! Lately it’s cell phones. I have video of almost getting hit a few times. I can zoom in the vid, and see people staring down at their phones! I’m a die hard optimist, but sheesh peeps are getting angry out there. On both sides.

I wave to people and get waves back very frequently from people walking alone, walking dogs, or even walking kids. Some riders give the 2-down and some don't. Some people don't wave back or acknowledge no matter what....so....whatevs. So many people are just mad at life for whatever reason. I do what I do how I do it and so do they - as it should be.

Years ago, I had a neighbor follow me to work one day. He started yelling at me for my loud exhaust. Next day, bunch my friends came to my house for a ride, and reved the shit out out there bikes. 😂🤣

I had a lady get out of her car in traffic. walk up to me at a red light, start screaming at me. She said I blew her doors off. I just pulled up next to her, put it in neutral and checked my phone. Only time I wasn’t recording. I still don’t get it.

Motorcyclists are not hated in my country in northern Europe. The reason could be that the training of riders and drivers is more substantial in Europe. Bikers know how to ride. You can also see it in the accident statistics. The average US rider has more accidents than European and Indian riders. USA may have the world record for motorcycle accidents; but I'm not sure about that.

    • @Broken-six
      @Broken-six  Před měsícem

It’s the culture here. Cars are king, the bigger the better. 98% of the people here consider motorcycles as toys only. Not as commuters, or necessary transportation.
I know all about the amount of training required in Europe. Not so much here. You can be 18 and buy a Hayabusa as your first bike.
Don’t get me wrong, I love it here in the USA. The freedom to get on and ride whatever you want is kind of a necessity. Not really a good idea, but we wouldn’t stand for the government deciding what we could ride or not.
That being said, I encourage people to start on small bikes and work their way up. Much more enjoyable. Safer too. Safety isn’t cool here. I gotta say, gear is getting better. When I was younger, no gear. Total squid. I was embarrassed to wear any gear, and broke. Stupid, I know!
