BMW 545e xDrive | A 6-cylinder hybrid! (4K)

This is the BMW 545e xDrive, you guessed it, the e in the name means that this is a hybrid. But it is a hybrid unlike any other se have featured on the channel before, that's because instead of the usual 2 litre 4 cylinder petrol that is usually paired with the battery and electric motor the 545e has a 3 litre cylinder! Combined power is a smidge under 400 bhp and 0-62mph is completed in just 4.6 seconds. So a 6 cylinder all wheel drive hybrid? In todays world that sounds like quite a package, but is it?

The range isn’t too great, I thought 30 - 38 sounded good with my 330e, but have the climate control on in winter and it just drains your high voltage battery 😩

WLTP range is reported as 30 to 35 miles not 24... perhaps he meant 24 miles real world range.

I think the batteries are actually under the back seat and the petrol tank has been moved to under the boot.

I’m looking at one of these and it’s a very interesting car. I was looking at the new 550e but that’s about £91k with packs loaded.
