Praying to the Goddess of DIY and The Grout Fairy. Always best to do that before starting to ensure a smooth finish ☺️
Ooh maybe this is where I've been going wrong... 🤷😂
Aways a good morning when I can watch rhe nomadic Crobots with breakfast. Thank you!. Its all coming together.
Aww thank you so much! Hope you had a lovely brekkie ❤️
Awww guys! 🤗 How frustrating it must’ve been for you discovering that last imperfect tile! 😩
And my heart still goes out to you whenever I see that clip of your bump into the bridge! 😔
Nice to see the marigolds making an appearance again, Chris! 😂 And glad you’re better Bex! 😊
Take care lovely pair. ❤🌻
How frustrating, but its best to get a new one a nd wait...even if it does mean we freeze to death for the next few weeks...The marigolds are always in reaching distance , Have a great week ❤️
Hi guys, hope you had a good break, you bloody deserve it, I reckon I’d have thrown it in by now I so admire you. Thank god it’s you Bec’s with the cold, we all know what men are like when they have pneumonia, sorry I mean a cold. I know you’ve had some really cold weather over there, it’s not a good time after about a week to be coming back to an empty steel canister, freezing. You did time this fixing the heater well, but as I said before nothing like leaving things, as we also do, to the last moment. Great video. Tiles look great. Stay warm guys, see you soon, take care. 🥰
Thanks so much Pauline 🥰 Ahh yes I know this all too well! Man flu and all that!!! I'd have to lock him in the back room to cope with all the moaning!! 😂 Ahh yeah it's been absolutely freezing which is why I'm trying so hard to push the stove along. However without the replacement tile it has really scuppered our progress. We had no idea it would stretch on for this long in honesty but fingers crossed we have it reinstalled very soon. Thanks so much 🥰 and the same to you xx
You've both done a great job with the hearth, hopefully you'll be nice and warm soon
Fingers crossed for heating this year... hot water bottles all round, Thanks Gary
Hi Becca, Chris, Very sorry that have you been suffering the cold. You have both done an amazing job with your tiling. Your Herth, oooops sorry, Hearth looks fantastic! Chris, as always, I loved and appreciated all the hard work you put into the editing, audio dubbing, and also the DRAMATIC music. Another amazing and great Vlog. Take care. Spoolbox
Thank you so much, we're both walking around looking like a pair of Mitchellin men with all the layers we are wearing!! Haha!!! He keeps saying it, it cemented in his head now!! Ahh he's great with the editing isn't he! Thanks for your lovely comments as always. We hope you're having a lovely week 😊
Well I have to say Becca that’s bloody gorgeous ! My hall way needs doing if you wanna give it ago !? lol Christopher , I’m assuming that’s your Sunday name, you did well adhering the tiles! Well done my little flower pot ! Adore you two bottie lovies. Have a great week and see ya Monday darlings lol xxxx
There's something deeply relaxing about watching craftsman at their work. But I've been as tense as anything watching you guys put this fireplace together. (Oh ha ha)
Me also and really funny! 🤣😂
Thank you so much....I think??? 😂😂😂
Brrrrr. Reminds me of the 80's when I couldn't afford to have the heating on! I was young and strong then, not sure I could take it now.
I think I'd just lightly tack the scratched tiles on, fit the stove back and replace the tiles later!
Haha! Yeah it's certainly a shock to the system! We did wonder about this but that particular tile is in such an awkward place once you put the stove back into place that we just figured we would wait it out and buy loads of hat water bottles in the meantime!! 😂
Ditto!
Oh and looking forward to seeing the Canopy cover, and the completed tiling! bye for now.
so exciting Thanks John 😀
Those sort of crap things happen when restoring anything. You did good, the tiles look great especially the hearth, can't wait to see it all done and finished and the stove lit.
Well this is it. Thank you so much. We can't wait to see it all finished properly 😊
Hi Chris and Becs. Glad you’re getting the tiles on. Hope you can get the stove working soon. Particularly in this cold weather. Take care. Nick
Thank you Nick, this tile is taking forever, what nightmare, fingers crossed for Christmas warmth 😂
As the Book says on its cover in large friendly letters: "DON'T PANIC."
This is clearly one of those cases when it is good to know where your towel is. It's good for wiping up messes, but also good for keeping warm, providing it isn't still wet from cleaning up messes.
Unfortunately, the entry for Planet Earth fails to mention that one of its peculiarities is that the fluid that covers most of the dry bits isn't viscous or warm like the Great Sludge Seas of Spurious IX, or the hot methane pits on the second moon of of Flatulence IV. Folks from the Planet Crobot would do well to research these things before crash landing on Planet Earth. All part of the risks of intergalactic travel.
we obviously hadn't researched Planet Earth well enough, were getting stuck with all this mud type material which is hardening very fast....were now trapped on our water shuttle for eternity!!!
Well that’s a bummer ! I’m supposed to of sent you a nice witty, complementary, funny, lovey darling message and I think I’ve bloody deleted it !! Damn it !!! Any way love and adore you two. Have a great week and see you next Monday darlings ! lol xxx
awwww no worries Mandy, something we have done many many times, thank you so much for watching and all your love and support Have a lovely week ❤️
Your hearth is going to look awesome once it’s finished! Just a thought, but why not get yourself an electric blanket or heated throw for when you are sitting rather than working on the boat - they are very economical to run and would last far longer than the heater when plugged into the battery pack. Love the videos - keep up the good work guys!
Thanks so much 🥰 Yeah that's a really good idea as those blowy heaters are just so power hungry! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching! Have a lovely week 😊
Great video, wish my woman was as handy as Becca doing all that work 😂
Aww thanks so much ❤️
Who would have guessed fall is right before the cold winter ? Hope you have a electric blanket -
Now there's a cracking idea
Hi guys (neighbours well nearly) great to see your vlog and how your getting on with refitting that stove.
I took my stove out 18 months ago and although I'm managing with a mobile diesel heater and one oil filled rad, I really do miss watching that amazing glow through the stove window.
Keep the good work up.
Chris
Hey to you too!! Thank yous o much! Oh wow, did you take it out thinking you would reinstall or for another reason? We have considered a diesel heater but have so much on our job list it might be something more for the future. As for the oil filled rad, how are they on electric consumption just out of interest? I saw one for sale the other day and was considering grabbing it! Thanks so much Chris, much appreciated 😊
Hi thanks for your reply, my other half complained so much about the fire made her clothes smell that I gave in and removed the stove, it was one of the worst ideas that we had and hopefully I will have one reinstalled next year.
I have been very happy with my diesel heater, I switch it on full blast for half an hour and then on the lowest setting all evening.
The fuel consumption is
1 ltr per hour on full blast and on the low setting it runs all day on just 1 ltr of red diesel that you can buy from our local Esso for £1.28 per Ltr.
I will look out for you guys the next time I cruise down to The River Mill for a pint
Apologies I forgot to say about the oil filled radiator, I have a delonghi dragon, I only ever have it on the low setting so it's pretty cheap to run but the only problem is that as you already know, all of the heat rises so no effect for anything below the water line like your legs or feet but great if like me you have a raised bed, makes the bedroom nice and cosy.
Get yourselves a heated throw guys. Only 300watts, I bought mine for £5.00 in a charity shop last year.
Fabulous, saved me a fortune last winter, but above that I was toasty warm.
I have just bought my granddaughter one for Christmas. Hers is a double heated fleece throw, cost £34.99 on Amazon. Runs @4p an hour. As my granddaughter is a student she can"t afford to put the heating on.
If I wasn't a pensioner myself, I would treat you both to one.
Can't recommend highly enough. You will be toasty warm, and due to low wattage they are great for off grid.
They are machine washable, which is just as well as my one is a dog magnet😊.
woaw that sounds great, im sending bex down straight away, what great way to keep warm on a tight budget, yes I imagine the dog will calm it if its left alone for to long 😂😂
"Bex does this weird thing where she just stares at the grout"
You may be unfamiliar with this idea, but it's called "reading the instructions", Chris! 🤣
I think that was the joke
Haha!!! Thanks for sticking up for me lovely! 😂
@@JohannusFandangulus Did you hear the loud WHOOOSH sound as you read my comment or did you manage to miss that as well?
@@YaaLFH I don’t know what that means. I think I’m out of my depth here. Peace and love. Bye 🕊️
Us men never read instructions. The only way to learn is to make mistakes.........honest!
Ps. Stop letting Captain Faff do DIY.......lol
Pleased to see that you wet the backing board before you tiled. I was dreading you didn't and they all started falling off in a few weeks time. Good job guys! 👍
Thanks so much, fortunately my tiler friend gave us that tip just in time!!! We'd be devastated if they all fell off!!!
How annoying. One slate scratched. Puts the job back waiting. It's going to look fantastic guys. You two work great together. ❤❤
Ahh it's been soooo annoying! We are still waiting for the new tile to arrive too so it's really put us back. Thanks so much. Let's hope it will be worth the wait. Thanks Mr, we hope you're keeping warm and well ❤️
Fingers Crossed then ! That the new Tile is the same colour as the others 😊 Im looking forward to seeing how ‘Benny’ ( Ben & Emily ) gets on with installing his Stove . I expect he has been taking lessons from your Videos . Hope you get warm soon 😊
fingers crossed, oh woaw thats cool...bet they do a great job on it, I wish we had more time to view all these amazing narrowboat channels
You guys are more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Becca is the mechanic, carpenter, plumber, and tiler, while Cris complains a lot.
Hahaha!!!! We're glad you enjoy our antics!!! Ahhh well I suppose we all have our skills 😂🤣😂
I would never live in the cold for the sake of aesthetics like that, when I don't even know if the tiles are a safety requirement, I would certainly find out if the safety regs allow me to temporarily install the stove directly onto the hardy board. And if not, I certainly would not have waited in the cold for tile unscratched tile, but would have thrown on the scratched stuff. Aesthetics last.
I also would never expect solar to be able to drive resistance heat for a room, overnight. Did it? Though it could drive heating pads or electric blankets.
I agree its freezing conditions at times, were armed with hot water bottles. We cant really put the fire I with out the tiles, it would be an absolute disaster when trying to lay them...did you see how messy I am 😂😂 The blankets is a great idea
Well done guys its coming along nicely 👍 you must be freezing and snow is forecast for Thurs and Fri currently. Go to Spoons for free heating and unlimited coffee ☕️ if it gets to cold hopefully we will bump into you again ❤
Thanks so much lovely ❤️ ahhh blimey! Well it was freezing this weekend so we desperately wanna get it all finished as soon as possible. We are just waiting for this blummin slate tile to arrive as it's holding everything up. Plus the weather today scuppered everything too! You may well find us hiding in spoons if things don't go to plan this week!!! ❤️
Yes we get another fire place video ❤can’t wait it’s become the highlight of my week /fortnight 😂😂😂
this is tearing intonthe new hatch...."will they get it finished this year"??? 😂😂😂
Awww what a pain in the arse that scratched tile is? I hope the new one turns up soon. So glad you’re both back guys we missed you and your shananagins! I hope you find a good way to heat up while you’re waiting. Huge hugs 🤗🤗
Ahh it's so annoying!!! But nothing much we can do but wait for the new one to arrive, however it's put us back loads as we are still waiting now! Aww thank you, you're always so supportive and we really appreciate it 🥰 Hot water bottles for the win!!! 🤣😂 Hope you have a lovely week xx
@@TheNomadicCrobot
Aww you’ll get there eventually guys. Have a lovely week. Stay warm!! 🙏❤️
Looking very nice. Great to have a new video. Take care, Deb
Thanks so much Deb. Sending warm wishes 😊
Hi Guys, Absolutely loving your Vlog's especially the contents and the editing.
your making a cracking job of the stove/fire tiling 🤩
keep them vlogs coming 🥰
Thanks so much for enjoying the adventure, we really do appreciate the support ❤️
Thank God for this video - I’d forgotten what it was like to feel joy and happiness!
Haha! Aww what a lovely comment! Glad we can share a bit of joy!
@@TheNomadicCrobot You’re a blimmin joy-fest! If I went to the joy shop, it would be full to brimming with Crobot merch.
Very TRUE! 🥰🤣😂
What you need is one of those Chinese diesel heaters, I fitted one last week, complete game changer Captain
now that sounds like a great idea
Is the hob working? You could boil loads of water and fill loads of hot water bottles, or ordinary bottles then wrap towels around.
yes it is, we have been living off hoy water bottles...what a gods send...the mornings are miserable
You two are resilient as heck. Nothing keeps you down. That wood stove area is going to look spectacular!!!
😊🤗 Kathy
Its been a really hard month with the heating situation but were trying to keep positive...fingers crossed we get this thing lit before the end of the year, take care Kathy
Please remember to cover the floor tiles before putting up the last 3 wall tiles. 😜
Haha!!! Yeah I've seen how Chris flicks the spatula thingy about so don't you worry, il make sure to keep everything well protected!!!
looking great, With those chequerboard tiles and no chimney I can see a good game of drafts! Excuse the pun. 🙂
Oh wow! Now that is an idea 🤔🤣
Or star Gazing?
The narrow boat is only a part of your videos its you two that I personally think who make it lol 😆
Aww thank you so much. What a lovely comment 😊
as to your water heater , i can't see why you could not add an extra solar panel to the roof and connect it to the batteries with a switch that takes the sola power from the panels to the water heater when the batteries are full , in this way you would get more free hot water.
thats a really great idea, we have yet to sort out a solar set up on the boat but it would be great to be able to use it heat the water when needed
A really epic episode! So much could have really went south, but so far it looks stunning! Thanks for all the entertainment.
Thanks so much for the positivity! Just a few little bumps in the road but hopefully we will be back on track and warm again soon!!!!
Nice one to say you have never done it before you did a top job it will look proper smart when it’s done hope you are keeping warm enuff have a Top week 🙂🔧🎸✌️
Thanks so much, we can't wait for it all to be finished!. Thank you, just about! The same to you 😊
Creative video and edit skills Chris👏🏼😀 Fabulous tile work Bex👏🏼💜
Thank you so much for noticing, have a lovely week Sunny ❤️
Never a dull moment. Cheers guys Gary.
Thanks Garyl....will the pain ever end 😂😂
Think it looks great so far. Well done
Thank you so much 😊
Hopefully you will have a wood stove for Christmas
We really hope so 🤞
Put some wax on it , by time you lite fires 🔥 it will scratch
Thats interesting, thanks 😊
nice pattern in the fireplace, shame slate tile was marked
so unlucky...and really has put us back a bit, thanks so much for watching our progress
Wow wow wow! That is looking amazing! Well done you pair 👏
Thanks so much! We can't wait for it to be finished 😊
One way to keep warm. Set fire to the boat.lol
Hahaha!!!! I tell you what, it was so cold this weekend that was starting to become a real consideration! 😂
@@TheNomadicCrobot I do have a hot water bottle
My wife says move in with us if you are cold😀
Put a reflex stove in 🤷🏼♂️C
It’s not too Late, Unless you’ve now done it 😎🤔
I wish I could say that it was too late, however in true Crobot style, things seem to be against us so we have been very held up, annoyingly. I know people rave about them but we aren't really in a position to afford one at the mo and must admit we are both very fond of our wood burner but thanks for the suggestion 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot Croud funding,
I would support just so you guys got. Heat. Do it 👍🏼
I don’t no about the monkey show about a bucket of frogs lol you getting there well done both luv from the oldies 🤗🤗

Poor Becks lol

Haha!!! Yeah we'll get the stove in just in time for the hottest day of the year 😂🤣😂

Was it you on the Jeremy Vine show yesterday, the canal boat that got caught at the Glory Hole?
haha brilliant
Keep plugging away guys your doing great
Thanks so much 😊
Brilliant video thanks
Thanks so much! 😊
Love you guys
Thank you so much, we loveeeee youuuuu
Well done looks pukka and to be fair no real problems lol
Thanks so much!! Haha! Just a few annoyances!! 😊
Hi, is there a chimney color?
yes we are currently working on one 😀
I wonder a little bit.
When you buy your next boat, will it be a DIY also? I meen, you are slowly, but staedely, reaching the point where other would say "Finished, let's go boating"
But you seems to like all this DIY so I think you prefer to say "Finished, let's get another one ..."
I definitely really get something out of the DIY, Chris however would probably run a mile from any other DIY project in the future! 😂🤣😂
Thanks
oh woaw thank you so much for this, it really means alot, hope you have a lovely week Neil ❤️
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 he did something 😅
Hahah!!! I know! About time too!!!
@@TheNomadicCrobot love you both loads

That is looking really swish!
Thank you so much 😊
Funny but not funny you guys may need to get back to some sort of full time work 🙈 you must have had some good savings for 2.5 years ....good luck guys 👍

Hahah!!!! I know, fortunately because we've done all the work ourselves, we haven't spent toooo much and have managed to stay afloat, in all ways!! 🤣😂🤣
