Yayyyy, so good to see you guys back, Becs with her apprentice đđ happy days and Becs looking more like her old self again. Onwards and upwards or where ever, it'll all be good in the end. Great to see you both back.
Thank you, yeah itâs been a slow month but weâre back in full swing now, these things always take longer than first anticipated, weâre so happy to be back đ
I think I say this every time but you are the most patient people! I think your positivity is remarkable. Sheâs going to be such a looker when youâre all done. You are an inspiration.
Aww thank you, I think weâve just come to turns with it, at times itâs really hard so we rather just have a bit of fun with it and try and find the positives, at least we can kit the boat out exactly how we want to, thanks so much
Itâs just a joy to watch you both and so funny and enthusiastic itâs great, keep up the good work
Aww thank you! âșïž
Great stuff guys. I'll miss that leak once you've fixed it!
Hahaaa I will NEVER miss the bloody thing once itâs gone⊠but once that oneâs sorted⊠another will probably come along haha
Awesome piece of joinery Becks !! and in the spirit of fairness and compliments, good work on clearing the splashing aquaseal round the tank Chris. LOL
Sheâs amazing isnât see, continues o impress us all, yes Iâm aqua steel splashing is a fine art đ đ đ
Missed you two. Becca is channelling Axel Rose đ. Chris you need to include a âtattoo show and tell eachâ episode, they look intriguing. Glad you chose blue covers. The kitchen bit was funny, and what about the brass handle on the ceiling in the back room? Was that from when it crossed the sea to Ireland and whoever was inside it had to hold on for dear life!đ
Becca is a proper rocker, I think I might get shy showing my tattoos on film but Iâll try worm it in somehow, thanks for showing interest đ yes the navy covers is the way to go, oh I think the brass handle may have been from when there was a bunk bed in the back room to get up too, Iâll have to take another look haha yes probably designed for the nervous passenger , thanks for sticking with us, will be off in no time fingers crossed đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot donât feel pressured to be off on the cut, your both great entertainment whatever your doing. đđ»đđ»
Wow looks like there's loads to do. Becs is brilliant at DIY. Hope the hole and leak get sorted, bet your itching to get out on water. â€

You guys are doing great, remember the bigger the problem, the more you are going to learn from it. When you start your travels, you will be ready for what the rivers and canals throw at you đ

You crazy people have been missed !! So glad to see you both back. Disappointed there wasnât any marigolds Chris ! Think Iâve got a weird obsession with them !
Letâs get this vessel sea/canal worthy !!
Haha thank you, Iâm saving the marigolds.. I canât let you have them every exposed đ đ things are going to start moving very quickly now Iâm sure
Great vlog. U two are amazing how u carry on with it. Keep going. Amazing work. Best wishes

Yay welcome back you lovely people
yayyy were still going haha :)
Love you two. It looks tough but I love how you keep going.
thank you, were so excited for the future now were off again :)
the titan looks satisfying!
The titan is extremely satisfying⊠and not to be handled by girls !!!
Actually burst out laughing at "It's like camping but in a shithole". I'm so using that about my project! đ
đ it wonât always be, but for the time time being we may as well enjoy it being a grubby little s***hole đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot Yeah, mine too but it's a bit of a shithole at the moment. âșïž
@@TillerQueen sorry you can relate, but you will get there, try and enjoy it for what it is and what is to come đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot Exactly! When people come on board in the future they'll say "wow, it's so lovely" and not have any idea it was a shithole once. âșïž
Hi Becca Chris ,you sure have found some more rust or should I say holes around the water tank, see Becca done a good job making the top wood for the crouch cover well done I did not realise you had the boat over a year ,so you are coming back to Foxâs Marina to have it out of the water and blacked Iâm just up the road from that so maybe we all could go for a pint or two lol we guys till next time take care keep safe,John đđ€đđđđčđčđđŹđ€„đ€„đđ€ąđ€ąđ€Șđđ
We can't get rid of the bloody stuff haha bex has done so well bless her, its nice to get some stuff done again, yes we've had it a year now, that's scary, yes were heading back to foxes at the start of august ,lets share a few pints that would be great cheers :)
Great video keep up the great work both đ
Thanks weâre getting thereâŠ.slowly
Aww just want to say I love your vlogs xxx
Awww thanks so much đ
Just About all boats are a "Hold in the water that you throw money into" that's what is told to me by many boaters....Your doing good, being dogmatic about the water leak Bex ...good teammate wish she could be my helper ...Not afraid to tackle a job at hand. Your get there ....Don't give up !!...........Robbie
They really are, we actually havenât spent to much yet and hopefully it will all be worth it for the adventures that will follow, bex is amazing itâs hard to keep up, need to get her scraping that water tank haha thanks robbie
What have you made me do you told me to smash that subscribe thing and said you don't know what it does I can tell you it breaks your screen on the tablet lol only kidding đ great vlog keep them coming
Oh so thatâs what it does đ đđđ thanks David
Missed you guys. Hope you are both well.
Thanks weâve missed being here, weâre both feeling very motivated now just in time for winter cruising haha
S**t the funniest so far đ
Thanks for watching đ
About bloody time your back đ
Yayyy thank you đ
That titan is a beast watch not drop it in the canal it will empty it in no time lol
The titan would suck the river up in an instance âŠyou have to be very careful đđ steady hands advised
If it makes you feel better, I bought my boat in June 2020, thinking I could just go off cruising in about a months time, it then spent 5 months on the hard, having a new stern tube fitted, then new prop shaft, and a crack in the hull repaired,,and 3 through the hull fittings reseated. finally having a new boiler fitted. Engine bay de-rustered and painted, and finally it went in the water just in time for the lock down stream to become closed for gate replacement and the north of marina the canal closed for bridge restorationduring the winter closures, so boat was then stuck until march 2021, and finally with new lock gates fitted and I got 2 weeks on the boat except by day 5 the gear box failed, and was broken down for 21 days while RCR got me a new gear box, but it didn't fit properly, so limped back to the marina and it turned out that the engine mounts where shot, and the old gear box being on its way out was taking up the slack, so then had engine out and engine mounts fitted, at this point I bought new house batteries as this was the time to do it, but then a week later the starter battery had failed. then finally was ready to go and lock down started.
I have since managed to do a couple of trips, taking Launa out out, then tainhg a load of other family and friends out on trips, then November my immersion packed up, but thought hay ho, at least I have engine and new webasto, and would you believe it by march this year the webasto had packed up again, so another ÂŁ400 for a recon unit and another ÂŁ100 for an immersion. and now am told boat safety certificate will be due next year along wit blacking.
All in all I have had about 8 weeks use since June 2020 lol, yes you have to laugh or you'd cry, and as we alll know that is why its called a BOAT Bring out ...
Oh my go that sounds very unlucky rather like us, I feel our safety certificate will creep up plus another years river license and not actually using the boat at all, there always seams to be something to do but some of us are luckier thank others, Iâm sure come the boat goes out cruising this lifestyle will be hard to matchâŠâŠ until the next bloody thing goes wrong hahaâŠ. Good luck on your adventure please keep laughing haha
@@TheNomadicCrobot sorry for the rant just thought you might feel better knowing there others out there with similar tales of wow when it comes to boating. Anyway I move onto my boat full time next Tuesday with no hot water, whenâs your moving on date lol
I guess with the lock being closed and not operational, gives a new meaning to living in âcanal timeâ đ€Ł
Exactly haha đ
I haven't tided up
I can see that đđ
I blame bex đđ
Have you thought about putting down those insulated mats that clip together like a jigsaw where that hatch is? They are made by Rolson I think, about ÂŁ10 a set. That would keep the water off and can be easily cut to shape, you can just lift them off to gain access then put them back down again after. đđŒ
Oh thatâs interesting thanks for your advice, we are looking to weld the damaged one but when is the question, it always starts filling up with water when weâve had heavy rain so weâre pretty much sure itâs the rain⊠weâll weâre preying haha đ Iâll have to look into these matts they seam like a great idea thank you
@@TheNomadicCrobot my pleasure. They're available on Amazon for around ÂŁ12 for a set just now. đđŒ
TITAN time!!!!
The titan never fails you đ
Have you considered a flexible water tank (bladder tank)? Not only saves all that messing, but your water stays much cleaner.
I did look into the bladders the other day, Iâd be very tempted but have u seen the price of them??
Once itâs scrapped out and treated wouldnât it be better to line it with stainless steel. Probably expensive though.
It would actually but you donât really see that a great deal in my experience, hopefully they will last
If it where me id slap some old paint over that hatch in the well deck as paint will run into wholes and dry and then if its still leaking then the leak is the bow thruster tube, also get a hose and run a hose over the hatch then it let water in if its leaking.cant you get an endoscope camera and look around the thruster pipe and see if it looks damp, or wet. in case its gone porus
Yes I think thatâs what the previous owner had done with the paint, it could actually be worth doing especially as weâre not going to be using the broken bow thruster. We did actually test it with pouring water and it did seam to be leaking round the inner sides at the top though it could also have just been condensation, at least we think itâs rain water , thanks đ
I want an off-grid mobile Ship/landship/fort/bunker/tiny home that has a indoor playground/ a place to get/read books/a place to wash your things + but can drive/float on all the roads/waterways in the USA + have working baths/toilets/a nice bed to sleep in when stopped do to extreme storm winds/rain/cold/heat/floods/mud/traffic/really bad ppl + save money on things like Gas/Rent/Food/Hotel/Motel + a way to get/hold rainwater for all use in/on my landship/fort/bunker/tiny home that will keep me and my family safe for when all the Ice in the World turns Flood Water yay + I love you CZcams
Itâs part of the reason we wanted to live on a boat, when it all comes crumbling down we can just float around all happy đ đ
have you tryed Priory Marina bedford
No we havenât heard of that one thatâs the other way, thank you
Way not put plastic tanks in the old water tank. Just an idea
We had though of it, they can be really really expensive for a cruising one but it is a a good idea, at least it would be safe to drink from
Missed you glad everyone is well again. Iâm pretty sure Iâve seen weed hatch maintenance where they put a new gasket around the rim. I think David from cruising the cut or Johnny London from sorry my old brains forgot his vlog name. Anyway that could save you a lot of work if thatâs all you have to do to fix that leak? I hope you get to enjoy a few short cruiseâs. Have fun
Yea I think thatâs what we need, and a new lid too really though weâre thinking of welding it. Luckily we have t spent a huge amount itâs mainly time, we will get a few small cruises in absolutely thank you đ
đđâ€đšđŠ
can you tell me what paint you used for your water tank please
I think it was armourguard hope this helps, but it needs another solution to be mixed with by what I can remember too, and a undercoat I think
Is it you that returned to the boat?
Haha well yeah us⊠and the bloody leak
Water
f***** water
@Narrowboathands plugged/welded on some round plates over the bow-thruster ports/skin-fittings/hatches of a NB because he said the tube in the middle was leaking.
I think that's a much more likely source of the leak than the access plate on the deck.
czcams.com/video/x9GVSRuLw1A/video.html (Video) "Narrowboat Sinking By Bow Thruster"
It could be the tube leaking though we didnât have any water in that area for months until it started raining heavily, though you could be right, itâs definitely worth is taking a closer look thanks
Yea maybe đ€
@@TheNomadicCrobot I rewatched the video - he had the point that it may be thinner steel (3mil) which makes it the weakest part of the boat - and it's not a place you can easily get blacking into. If it's been to Ireland/exposed to seawater - that's concerning as well. It's not the underwater that makes metal prone to rusting, it's exposure to air/oxygen. So (as I suspect happened with Sloe Patrol/Narrowboat that James Built) months of sitting on hardstanding may have contributed to the holes he got when he had to replate the bottom.
Nice jigsaw đ€Ą
It really is đ
Absolute chaos
Apply to Cambridge or Oxford universities to run a psychology course off your boat.
So sad for you both.
Impossible to crack on and get it finished.
The water leak is insane.
Keep safe warm dry and virus free.
Your leak might be a cavitation whole in your bow thruster tube.
haha it is getting silly with this leak now, as were still not fully certain were it is really coming from, we will get there soon I hope, we only seam to get water when it rains son it doesn't seam like river water, thanks so much, will get there eventually :)
HE ISLOST WITH OUT YOU BECS .
I really am haha
There is nothing worse then turning on a narrowboat video and find it's a bloody cooking programme I have stopped watching loads of CZcams's that have turned their vlogs from what I have turned them on for into bloody cooking vlogs now you have done it don't do it again or you will be on my won't watch list
Oh sorry you feel that way, it was only a bit of fun to try and show people who donât live on a narrowboat how cooking can be on a boat, try not to look into it to seriously weâre far from a cooking channel
