they are Pinless Adopters , great job on review and fixes Nick, Put you a piece of Carpet between the bench and the saw to reduce the vibration, you can get you some blue painters tape over the insert to make a zero clearance it your doing smaller pieces
Sterling Davis thank you so much my friend for the advice and info !! I will definitely do as you suggest. I’m loving this scroll sawing and can see why you do as well. Thanks again!!!
Thanks for this. I had the same factory "defect" where the bottom clamp that holds the blade was angled (mine was to the left vs your right). By watching this, it was an easy fix! Thanks and for that, I'll give you a sub. 👊 P.s. if anyone knows how to fix the fact that the blade isn't centered in the plastic cap, that would be appreciated. It not affecting anything, just annoying and distracting
I just got a used one for $20 from an online rummage sale. You should look for your chop saw guard there. I have a tool box full of rummage sale and estate sale tools I got at great prices
Wow that's really quiet compared to my old 1988 model Rexon scroll saw. It broke this morning. I'm bummed but I guess since I can't find a part, I'll go pick one of those up. Variable speed will be a nice change. Hey! I can make a bench Sander or grinder from the old motor! Thanks for sharing.
So the recessed table insert, everybody seems to be cool with that considering I can't find it mentioned anywhere on the internet. Thats kind of a problem.
I need one to cut bone, no larger than I guess the largest leg bones? will it cut bone and do you think I can fit larger bones in there to cut em into nice size chunks, like hip and leg ?
full speed is ok to cut quarter inch acrylic ? i suppose the 15 tpi would be best to cut it or what do you suggest to not chip the acrylic? i am buying one of these today!! thank you for your time!
Blunted &co. I think full speed would be okay but would suggest starting lower speed first. As for the blade 15 to - that would probably work but would recommend one higher if availabl. For chip out prevention I definitely recommend using masking tape and packing tape on the surface. Easy pressure and go slow.
Lisa Anderson I was having the same issue as well with mine. It’s suppose to be active when the upper arm goes up and down. I think I will be upgrading mine with an cheap aquarium fish air pump. Kind of a bummer to do but it’s the only solution I can think of at the moment.
Luis Gomez great question! Am not sure if it would be able to do a hard stone. I have used this with an aggressive blade to make square cuts on plaster-a-paris material before.
Ok so three years down the line, how has it held up? How often have you used it? I’m looking to buy a scroll saw right now and I’m looking at either getting this one or the WEN brand that Amazon has if I can’t find a good used one on marketplace.
It held up really well. I upgraded to a Pegasus scrollsaw. Only reason for upgrade was to go to a pinless blade and the larger table and swinging arm. The WEN would be a good alternative as well!
Serguei Franca I have cut 1” red oak with it. The saw was a bit slow cutting thru but I had a very tough grained board cutting. Slow movements thru board.
This would be so much better if you would edit out the "finesse" details that most of us will do after purchase. I just wanted to see this baby in action but found myself skipping around till you got it going. Just a thought for your future videos. Thanks man!
I can appreciate what your intent was behind creating this video but I would never assemble, disassemble, or treat my tale saw as just another piece of furniture and I have a small workshop like you.
4 minutes and 41 seconds into the video and I haven't learned anything except the blade came crooked from the factory.. learn to cut out all the useless footage from your videos, people have short attention spans.. we don't need to watch you adjust the blade or put the cover back on.. just tell us you did it and we will believe you.. now back to the video..
Actually, i just bought the same saw and seeing the repair helped me pay attention to the same issue mine came with. Even showing me the wrench, blades that came with it made me realize I left something in the box I was about to throw out (was a discounted open box so the extra bits were stuffed down in the styrofoam). Keep doing it your way. There is fast forward for a reason. Every "extra" bit can help others. If people want to complain about having to take an extra second to skip some content then they have issues. Maybe just add timestamps for those who are too impatient.
Generally good video. I would make a few changes. One - too much time on the repair, 2 - Too much time on replacing the cover and finally too much time talking about where the saw is going to be. Not knowing the name towards the end was a bit surprising.

Great tips!
I bought one of these this morning for $20 at a yard sale.
I cant believe you didnt show any curved cuts that a scroll saw is suppose to be able to do.

It's better than the harbor freight scroll saw I bought 10 years ago
I was debating the quality of it but this video made up my mind to get one, thanks Nick
I got one today. I have yet to use it, but I did turn it on. I'm excited about becoming adept at it. Thanks for the review.
I'm still using mine after 10 years
Good job, gotta love that ratchet screwdriver my grandpa used 60 years ago
How quiet is it? It sounds like it's relatively quiet in the video, is that the case?
I bought my scroll saw as a clearance opened item. What size hex keys do I need? Mine didn't come with any.
Good stuff! Thank you for the share. I just picked one up today.
Thanks so much for sharing you picked one of these up. Let me know how it works out for you. So far so good here still on mine.
So the recessed table insert, everybody seems to be cool with that considering I can't find it mentioned anywhere on the internet. Thats kind of a problem.
So is'it worth getting for diy projects
They are for pinless blades
You can use pinned blades to. You add the pointless attachment comes with it.
How has this held up still working good ?
I need one to cut bone, no larger than I guess the largest leg bones? will it cut bone and do you think I can fit larger bones in there to cut em into nice size chunks, like hip and leg ?
Got a body stashed away somewhere? Lol
Nice review man looking at getting a while workshop set up thanks for the review
Papa Romes Outdoors thank you for taking the time in watching! Hope the video helped?
Nicholas Gomez yea it was great thank thank you again!!!

I pay 79 with coupon yesterday
Toni Galvan wonderful price! Hope you get great use out of it for the money! Love those coupons HF provides.
I liked how quiet it sounded. Huge plus. Have you cut any type of plexiglass/acrylic yet?
How does the little fan/blower thing work to keep the work area clean? Mine is not working. :/

Same issue here.
Silly question, but this machine seems very quiet, could I use this in an apartment setting??
Mine is also very quiet but it might be messy.
Pretty quiet saw, Good tip on tape for the insert.
How you lubricate the machine
For pindless scroll saw blades
They're for painless blades. I have same saw for 6 months.
Will it take jeweler saw blades to cut into coins.?.Are they to delicate for this saw.
Could this be used to cut stones? With the proper saw.
Luis Gomez great question! Am not sure if it would be able to do a hard stone. I have used this with an aggressive blade to make square cuts on plaster-a-paris material before.
@@NicholasGomez Thank you. I'll keep looking.
Good video man

Awesome video and review thankyou for sharing friend.
TY Nick, subscribed and appreciate the review.
Hi! Thanks for the video. Do you know if a water drip can be added to a scroll saw?
I don’t believe it can.
Why? If cutting anything that would need cooling or lubrication you are using the incorrect saw.
Will it be strong enough to cut 1” red oak?
Serguei Franca I have cut 1” red oak with it. The saw was a bit slow cutting thru but I had a very tough grained board cutting. Slow movements thru board.
Ariz Sufi yes. You can use different blades other then the ones it comes with.
0:09 you are right

Chad Hillje thank you for your suggestion and watching! I am in the process of refining future videos. Thanks again!

Reggie Smith 😂
Hey post more videos.

Steve Hansen thanks for watching. ❤️👍🍼
And how to put the cover on. I wouldve liked to see how ACTUALLY works and cuts. Cant tell anything by watching a machine run.
Steve Hansen as a newbie, I totally appreciate seeing it all

Yup I click you say Nicholas an I almost freak out my name is Nicholas lol waved an support you b safe
BoBo Manny thanks much friend!
Apiece of the the die cast body broke off where the rear screw securing the table is. Epoxy etc will not work to repair it. JUNK
I gave Joe Biden a couple years before I make a comment. Biden is the worst president of all time.
Generally good video. I would make a few changes. One - too much time on the repair, 2 - Too much time on replacing the cover and finally too much time talking about where the saw is going to be. Not knowing the name towards the end was a bit surprising.
Thank you! Harbor Freight Scroll Saw (amzn.to/2ChVuWL)
💜👍👍
its junk
