For the shoes and orthotics recommended in the video: wp.me/p9imRX-54n
had a fall that resulted in 3 metatarsal fractures and a full through plantar plate tear of the 4th toe. This was 4 months ago. Initially, when I had an X-ray at day 10, nothing was evident, so I assumed my foot was badly bruised but was unable even to put any pressure on the foot to walk. I just wore trainers and tried to just walk let alone run. By week 7 the pain in my foot had not progressed at all, so after seeing a specialist I got an MRI and this revealed the truth of the injury. I was then told to wear an Air Walker boot for 6 weeks, which I did. I was then told to try 2 hours per day in a trainer and get walking slowly. At the same time II was also referred to a physio who then disagreed with the Specialist and told me to throw my fracture boot away and walk all day in my trainers. What a disaster, now at 4 months my bones are healing but my plantar plate tear is almost back to square 1 and I can actually feel movement in the joints between the toes as I walk., I also seem also to have developed a Mortons Neuroma between the 2nd and 3rd toes. I feel I need to get back into the boot again - your thoughts, please.
Accessory Navicular pain due to working on my feet all day on a concrete floor.
I dropped a desk on my foot
My Husband, son (4), and I were in a Motor Vehicle Collision. I had an open tibial malleolus fracture and a closed comminuted fibula fracture in my right foot. I'm now in the post-ORIF recovery portion of the healing process. đ«đ
I stood up, my foot fell asleep and I broke my ankle
I had reconstructive foot surgeryâŠ.7 different incisions non weight bearing for 7 weeks in a cast. Iâm now in a boot and this video was so helpful to me, I just ordered inserts and a cane! Thank you so much!!
After watching a ha drill of your educational videos, I now understand shoes, support and home treatments. New shoes, an semi-custom orthotic and plantar fasciitis is much better.. just wanted to say, âthanks docâ.
Thank you so much
I just went to a podiatrist for a sprain and tendinitis on inside of arch, bone tender, she prescribed the tall boot, but I couldn't walk in it because other foot was so low. You saved the day by explaining that you need to raise up other foot also. May God bless you for your great advice.
Wow, we appreciate the kind words and we hope your tendonitis feels better!
If reasonable, we would appreciate a quick rating from you, and a good rating makes a MASSIVE difference for us!

what sort of insoles would you recommend to get to wear in the boot for a metatarsal stress fracture?

Omg I canât believe it, I am so sorry. There must really have some really bad customer service. My advice for you is try to stay off your feet and rest, give it a ice pack maybe or elevate your foot by putting pillow on it. Try to see some other doctor, there is always a good doctor!
Can I use the tube massager on my legs while my foot is healing? Or I need to wait until my foot is healed? Thank you!!!!!
My calf muscles are also torn so my knee scooter had caused my leg to cramp and that caused everything to micro cramp and I fell into the outside corner of the elevator. Got 2 stitches on my forehead.
Ok i have an broken ankle been like this for 3 1/2 mounts need time to heel how can i help the process
I have a grade 2 angle ligament tear, used my dad's old boot, and there's about a 3 finger gap at the toes, is that OK?
Whatâs the name of that roller use us3d on your legs?

Hello all, I got a boot type Genesis because I got a peronial tendonitis, today was my first day wearing the boot, but I am really afraid, concerned and nervous about the issue on my peroneals of my right foot. Regards!
Hey so I have a Grade 3 ankle Sprain, With the Boot and therapy do you think Iâm gonna have to have surgery?
I was in a motorcycle accident where my bike peg ripped into my foot completely removing my soft tissue from the bone of my right foot itâs been 5months and we are still unknowing of whether or not I will need amputation but my doctor now wants me to start trying to put pressure. I can now stand without putting my full body weight on the foot but I would like to know if these boots or any better ones would help in my case? The skin on the bottom of my foot is sensitive to the touch, my toes are still swollen but have healed from being broken, and my heel is still swelled but not so crazily.
So basically for a fifth metatarsal fracture, u can use either the big or small boot ?đ
CAN YOU USE AN AIR WALKER BOOT ON BOTH LEFT N RIGHT FOOT OR IS IT SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED TO LEFT AND RIGHT FOOT???
I just had foot surgery today and I was wondering is it safe to sleep in the air cast
I have both boots , but my tall boot already has a pump installed with a dial. And I was hoping to love the small boot but itâs so uncomfortable:((
i got boot
it works
Master!
Awesome video! I tell my patients about making sure they balance because the hips will hurt too

Btw great job on the channel, hope you continue growing!
Michigan Foot Doctors thank you!!
I have broke ankle and hopsital gve me air boot cast and I have questions do I have to sleep with air boot cast..
â@@amirhuma8159No. But ask your doctor if you can wear a compression sock at night. I do, and it helps with the pain.
How many hours a day should i wear the boot for a cuniform break?
Hi Doctor , can my 6 years old son travel 18 hours in plane with cast on
With the Boot do I need a Scooter with it too
What are your views on the TAYCO Brace vs the CAM Boot.
Love the tayco brace, going to make a video on it soon
I want to buy this boot
I have worn my boot for about 4 weeks due to a recent toe injury..and ive been out of work..Im extremely concerned because I have to go back to work and they just tell me to go ahead and wear the sneaker for the full five hours..the back of my leg and knee hurt so bad from the boot..i honesty dont think I can stand in one spot for five hours
A week ago, I had a non-displaced distal fibula fracture and was placed on a standard walking boot. I am very hesitant to inflate the air cells of the boot because I feel like it will displace the fracture. Is it possible for a fracture to be moved by the pressure from the walking boot?
December 1st I broke my ankle five days later I went to urgent Care after icing it and getting the inflammation down and it was a nondisplaced fibular ankle break it turns out with 5 days ago I had a hard cast taken off and new x-rays and it's a mildly displaced oblique fracture of the distal fibular at the syndesmosis level. At 22 days my surgeon put me into a Max tracks airwalker I'm also worried about the same thing of it getting more displaced I initially said I didn't want surgery. I have a piece a bone that's jagged that's sticking out a little and she said there may be a bump there is that acceptable should I be bearing weight on this only 25 days into it. It's a long break you can see it's sticking out on the x-rays and set my ankle joint worried about it.
would you recommend this for someone that has fractured their pinky toe/side of where the pinky toe is? thank you
I Fx ankle (fibula & ankle bone)10/3. Wore cast x2 post surgery. Just had follow up visit Tuesday, (11/17/2020 with second cast removal.
Dr. Said fx is totally healed, canât tell it was fractured. He did not put me back in boot that was given me post surgery. Initially, he said I would have to wear it, but he didnât recommend . Instead he recommended I start physical therapy. I still have a lot of tenderness as expected, but after watching your video, Im thinking perhaps I should wear the boot a few mor weeks before starting PT. I have an ankle brace, but even with it on Iâm limping when I walk and at this time I donât have a steady gait. My question is is it too early for PT outside of my home? And Iâm I right to wear the boot a little longer? Thanks in advance for your professional advice.
Oof-. I feel like my is way worst, even tho I didnât need surgery. So I used used have broken fibula, I was in cast for 6 weeks then started doing PT for 1-2 weeks. Then I was able to come back. But now, I sprained my ankle. I was able to walk kinda when I sprained it. It was so swelled last night. When I got my walking boot, I walk really stiff, but then I got the hang of it. Then 2 weeks after, I starting PT, each day I walk less stiff, after few days of it I starting being able to have more stability and be able run, hopefully I come back to sport next week.
Walking boot:
- you will feel very unstable with your walking boot when you first get, but donât worry you will start to get used to it
- you only need wear it for walking, you donât need it if you are showering or going bed
- 1 is deflate and I think 2 is inflate I think, Iâm not sure
- make sure it snug in tightly for fast recovery
- always wear new socks everyday, or you your foot gotta feel really itchy
Hope this help!
@Ella, the number 1 indicates the left side of the boot and the number 2 indicates the right side. Just got mine today.
@@deborahasher176 aww thanks, Iâm so thankful I donât have wear the walking boot anymore, but now I have do ankle exercises and a ton of waking for me recovered from my sprained ankle.
@@ellarose3323 hey so how long did it take you to heal?
Hello, I broke my foot almost 3 months ago my right foot and I had to take anabioticâs because of a bladder infection during that time antibiotics attack my Achilles heel and it injured my left Achilles heel so now Iâm trying to heal up both feet do you have any recommendations as far as how to get around with both my feet injured
Can you walk?
Diagnosed with a ankle avulsion fracture. Thought I just had a sprain but no. Family Doc said do a boot NWB for a couple weeks then go to physio who recommended I might need a cast. She felt the boot was just so heavy for my little leg and ankle. It seemed to be hurting more than helping. Ortho put me in a cast which was hell for 4 1/2 weeks then I said no more , my ankle hurts more now! So he put me back in the boot. I can hardly carry it on my leg since NWB took all my muscles after 3 days of wearing it I'm getting sharp pain in my ankle and Achilles area. It's constantly heavy tingling all through my foot. I lay down basically all day. I don't know what to do!! I see the Ortho this week again for the 6 week review. I'm scared to take it off too cause ankle hurt when they removed the cast until I put it in the boot. Help!!!
Can I ask what happened because Iâm going through this right now with the same pain youâre describing.
@@Presleyaron1935 it's almost a year now and it was not what I expected to heal this injury. The cast pressed on nerves, was too tight, and caused trauma to the foot. I still don't have circulation back from the foot. They said I have something called crps. Basically the brain is stuck sending signals to the area. It has very slowly improved so I have hope. Don't put up with any pain in a cast. If I could only go back. Missed a whole year and more of normal life.
@@joanw9091 I'm quite worried about this too. I really don't want to be in a cast. It's been a month, I can see and feel progress but still a lot of pain and unstable if I try to walk.
This is intersting
Iâm getting my next Wednesday and Iâm so nervous about it
Should be a good thing!
Did it hurt I'm getting mine in an hour and 30 mins and I'm really scared I dont know if it hurts or not and I'm trying to find out last minute but am failing
Do you remove the insert that came with the shoe and replace it with the orthotic?
In most cases absolutely.
Thank you for the replies. Love your enthusiasm and the info you provide. When I was in the Army always heard take care of your dogs, and they will take care of you. Now that I am in my 60s and going thru Achilles rupture post op recovery. I am acutely aware that my feet are my foundation.
I found that the hard way. Got my cast off, put in a boot and thought, I can walk now. NOPE, was very weak, can't go far. Went to the bathroom, was ready to collapse. Had to be brought back on the transport chair. So upset, so disappointed. And a little afraid too.
Sorry what kind of fracture did you have?
I sprained my ankle yesterday and they didn't give me crutches or brace or anything, she said to try walking on it but I can't even put any weight on it without pain. Should I go go another doctor for a different opinion?
How are you now? I'm just wondering if you were able to walk sooner after your injury?
Really helpful info. The background videos could be better. Theyâre often distracting or contradict the message. Thanks for sharing these tips.
Will copper compression knee socks work to wear in the tall air boots?
I thought about wearing the compression socks too, but Iâm afraid of the pain of trying to get the sock on and off
i got my cast taken off and they didnât give me a walking boot or anything and just instructed me to start trying to walk using crutches to help. would a walking boot help me start walking without the help of crutches? i have graduation soon and would not like to be using crutches
How did it go? Congratulations btw for your graduation âșïžđđ»
@@IslanderloverBKK it went good! i was able to push through and teach myself the best i could to walk without crutches, just a little limp, and walk at graduation. also thank youu! :)
@@jessburrola8147 Ohhh great to know that! I don't know you but I felt really happy you warrior it through!đđđđđ» I'm currently unable to walk due to an inversion ankle injury, celebrated my bday crawling haha.
hey doc I'm from the Caribbean does it works
The boot can work great for shorter time periods after an injury for sure. But always check with a doctor to make sure it is right for you!
@@DrTomBiernacki ohk
Hope you feel better soon!

Broken big toe= walking boot
That actually makes a lot of sense for sure, because the tendons to your big toe start above your ankle
Oh cool I didnât know that
