What’s your best tip for boarding?
just tank the one plunder on the ladder
You covered them all! I would say the biggest things to reiterate are bring good food, don’t just climb straight up every time, stay moving and eat as soon as you take damage, prioritize not dying over getting kills, stay on the top deck when outnumbered so jumping off the ship is always an option.
dont be a sword looser
Don’t board too much, cause if u do it means u are dieing 2 many times, so you need to stop. Also if u board then die, it can give the enemy time to take your mast down and put u in a death spiral unable to do anything.
Use mnk lol
I honestly believe the thing that makes the most new players want to leave is the boarding meta. The feeling of helplessness that being spawnkilled can create is kinda disgusting
Esp when you're solo, and feel like you can't win 2 v 1s yet
Or 3 v 1s, if its a brig crew and they want to just harrass you
Especially when playing solo. You can't properly fight back since you're constantly having to watch your ladders for boarders.
@@Breaker2005 Esp if you play on og xbox against pc players or series x players
It’s one reason why I’m personally scared to fight, as basically one death on my part is game over
It's about the distraction and staying alive, not the kills and the damage... It's seems so obvious, yet I needed someone to tell me that. Thanks for the video, it changed my mindset for pvp.
Yep you got it!
@@captain_squiddy Successfully created yet _another_ formidable foe for me, eh? 😤Gee thanks... (lol)
Yeah the kills just sorta come to you if you are doing everything right. Soon as you start getting greedy you will be punished. Pre plan your routes for staying alive In Close quarters and think about where players will follow you into blundy chokes. Then you can just 180 degree one tap them and then keep running etc.
my favourite thing to do when boarding is play to 2 win conditions and camp one. make holes AND sail them out of bounds. either you camp the anchor and win or camp the holes and win. They have to play to both, you only have to play to one
note on point 9: the sword is alsoa quieter method of boarding. experienced players can tell when a player cannons out but a sword may catch them off guard
nice, very to the point and helpful. Thank you :)
This is a great video, lot's of helpful tips in here
Thank you sir
I love the new outro thing 😂
I think the best tip here is kills is not the end all be all, just your presence is chaos enough.
Another thing i use is knowing when to Not drop anchor, sometimes i find something close enough to ram them into for holes then drop anchor.
Yessir
Or even (if hourglass) drive em of the map and get an ez W
Legends tell of how this is the origin of the "Dodge Ram".
Thanks for 1700 subs my dudes
Most helpful pvp vid I have ever seen
Thanks my dude
nice video bro
W guide
“Dodge blunderbuss pellets enough to survive using sword hops” Dude I do this I’ve always done this and I can say for sure it rarely works due to backtracking.
You play xbox only?Whats your Setting in this Time?
Boarding with 5 bananas is insane 🤣 (im a ps5 player and did that when I started a few weeks ago)
I always wanted to stand on the opposite side to the stairs so people would jump down from helm right onto my skeet
3:10 hmmm 🤔 I think it was for me when I played
"...while spawn trapping..."
And half the playerbase is shocked safer seas are coming.😂
Amen, even admitted it's a form of griefing.. there are the players that enjoy pvp and then theres the filthy casuals like me. The pvp players have only pushed the casuals out of the game making the skill gap astronomical, so a safer seas might be good if not only to practice against skelly and ghost ships to get enough confidence to try pvp.
I don’t mean “spawntrapping” in a toxic way where the goal is only to make someone mad. I mean it as in “if you made holes, you need to engage your opponents immediately upon their respawn so they have no time to repair”. I mean this as a pvp tip in the context of a fair fight 👍
Pov pc player vs old gen console players lol
I’m on Xbox. Or do you mean that I’m the noob lol
@@captain_squiddyyour on Xbox????? Did you connect a keyboard and mouse ( if so I did the same )but even so your gameplay is really impressive.
I’ve only just started to play sea of thieves properly, do these tips remain unchanged or is their something else I need to be looking out for. Thanks.
@@XBOXBAJ thanks! I play on Xbox with a controller. These tips for boarding are still up-to-date as of right now! Also, you should join my new discord discord.gg/AnwhGDgH
@@captain_squiddy I absolutely will be joining, with a controller tho that’s just absurd I’m in awe
i dunno why but when i board my enemies ship, they use like kind of aimbot, even can kill me underwater with 100% accuracy :(
When’s my video coming out
You’re in the video I posted last week called “I turned 2 noobs into Pros in 100 days”. Unfortunately you didn’t include your audio for a lot of it because you were joining and leaving the party so many times. But you’re in that video.
ALSO you’re gonna be in a second video that’s posting this week or next week. Cuz we were trying to convince one of your teammates to betray you, but then it ended up just being some random noob that was griefing his open crew by accident lmao
