Sword block does work, you just have to avoid blocking anywhere close to an object hitbox ( anchor, walls, mast, wheel). If your opponent can hit the object and you at the same time, it wont block. That's why we keep dying around the anchor when blocking, took me a while to understand.
So basically impossible to do where most fights will take place on a ship but island fights sword block is fine

The very top cannon barrel on fortresses has a chance to have 15 cannonballs, 2 chains, 2 of each type of flare, and 2 blunders and 2 firebombs instead of the 50 cannonballs. Overall tho great video Breeze

I've encountered this before and was pleasantly surprised!
It all depends on the fortress, from what I know, I only find that the Royal Crest Fortress has this barrel that spawns the throwables and every other fort just has the typical 50 cannonballs in the top cannonball barrel.
I'm quite a seasoned player myself, and this really solidified alot of the things I already do from trial and error. Though I did learn some stuff which was great (mainly with the ballastball)

As a certified sword lord myself I think it would have been prudent to explain 'bunny hopping' a smidge more. That being it is the act of using the sword dodge by blocking and jumping and NOT jumping yourself. One is very effective at countering quick snipes, etc. One you will die against anyone with a good aim.
Only other thing that I saw that wasn't included is the fact different guns aim differently. As in the actual projectile leaves in different places so you have to aim lower, higher, to the sides, etc. with different types of guns. This is most prevalent in the pistol.
Yeah this was my first attempt at doing any sort of tips and tricks video, and I didn’t exactly know what I was doing and winged every tip just off the top of my head lol

Ballast ball and brig: bonus tip.
Lets say you come across god repair bots and you have them down but they wont sink.
all of em are sweaty NAL bilge boys on vacation apparently in your ocean.
you wont get a board and you cant sink em. (Blunder spam and cannons only do so much.)
Hit them with the ballast ball and send over with sniper pistol. this will NOT sink their boat but lower the brig to water line meaning you can two tap all bilgers without boarding.
Just a nifty 200 IQ play.

I'm probably late but, I really think this is a great video and that you did an awesome job making it that way. I also think that the naval tips part is pretty hard to follow especially if you're a newer player, so I recommend adding visual cues with your explanation (something like view from the top)

Sloop spawns actually got changed with captaincy
I'd say ashen winds are way better than a skeleton fort, you probably make more than a skull fort with the ashen winds skull with emissary alone and you get a ritual skull.
You should ABSOLUTELY do shrines.
I can solo shrine of oceans fortune and shrine of tribute 10 minutes per shrine and 5 minute sailing between for like 130k per hour it is definitely worth it.
A pirates life doesn't wait for you to wake up in the tavern and this is just a suspicion but I feel like pirates life spawns at ancient spire and plunder outpost more often.

one thing I always do with empty storage crates is place them on top of the anchor. It's a simple trick but nine times out of ten it prevents other players from anchoring you if they board

Since the Merchant lost shipments can be "completed" without a hint (find the key and go to the goal, find the wreck) they can be quite lucrative...
Also, nowadays, just vote up Legend of the veil until you get a shipwreck graveyard - and dont forget the fish.

One thing abt storage crate placement is that for controller players that won’t work. The open storage crate is also the swap weapon button which is very inconvenient.

I have 700+ hours in the game and if there is one thing I forget the most is having food on me I'm so busy to multitask so the common thing I forgets the most is food. Once they aboard your shit and I see I don't have full health I wanna heal up then realizes I forgot to take food before. I die most of the times there is some times I can survive it's just how I act at the moment . But amazing video and I hope you having a great day

On a sloop go to the back right of the boat and jump onto the edge facing towards the sails look directly at the angle sails Polly and angle yourself until it asks you to angle sails When you press it it will glitch you up on sales affectively going from under the boat to the top
Me and all my friends that play are kind of all “flex” people. We take turns doing a little bit of everything so everyone is skilled at all jobs. Now if we get into combat me and my buddy are better cannoneers than the other two but I’m also exceptional at firing myself outta cannons and hitting deck shots. So I’m good at boarding and usually the only one to truly seal the deal in pvp hand to hand /gun to gun combat. usually a third hops on the cannons if the sails/bottom is good. Personally been playing since season three but I missed the entirety of season 7. All in all I learned a good bit from this video. I will def see if the guys want roles to fill instead of us just figuring it out along the way atleast we have good comms in discord and everyone is good about talking. And the only time we’ve sunk in the past month was from us kegging ourselves on accident at a fotd don’t carry kegs, but you really shouldn’t carry the black powder variety ever 😂😂😂 killed all of us in a chain reaction and sank our boat. So I guess you could say skelly’s sank us. 😂😂😂
breeze I would appreciate if you went into more detail about which shrines are good to go to for loot and which ones are bad because in my personal experience shrine of hungering gives great loot and can be completed way faster than a tresurey but on the other hand shrine of ancient tears sucks because it just takes too long

Some fortresses have had their loot nerfed too so that bouncing between the 2 fortresses isn't as effective

Pirates life spawns u closer to the reaper tables and does not include the animation if ur reaper hunting. It’s pretty dope if ur looking for pvp
But then you're running back to check athena table and loot tavern anyway....to each their own tho
@@HiradC we normally only hunt reapers/ fotd. I rather go after a reaper than spend time hitting level 5 or sailing aimlessly to search for an Athena emissary to sink.
If we see a reaper we will loot the outpost, again with out all of our crew mates doing the loading animation. If not we jump. Make jumping serves super fast, for us anyways. U can also do this to search for fofs

why use the cannon flare mentioned at 27:00? Would not using cannon flares be better?
Surprisingly the default cannon flare, etc the no flare option has more flare than the cutthroat cannon flare, making shooting easier as you can see your target better after firing, idk if that made sense at all

The ashen winds is worth it if you have tridents because it takes no time if your near it and you have some tridents is worth it

How to do the quick loot carrying by hand?
Wouldn't a ballastball sink a brig quicker if they already have water filling them up and you push them lower in the water? Shoving them under?
Nah because all of the holes are already spilling water since the brig is a flat boat, so using a ballastball on them would only make sure the holes spew in water, even though they already were, although I could be mistaken
@@Brreeze oh no I mean more that, say the boat is half full of water, and you make it ride lower in the sea, then it would sink? Because that half full becomes 100% full? Like dunking it underwater if it's kind of full. I think that makes more sense or else yeah it'd be useless for Brigs.
@@thirsty7281 realistically yes, but game physics, so unless you're putting a new set of holes/a new deck under water, the ship wont need to worry more, but the psychological warfare can have an effect.

The sunken treasuries reset after about 15 minutes then you can go back to the same one do it again so I recommend doing a treasury and then a sea fortress then a treasury and then a sea fortress

Another tip to mess with people is cook food on their stoves if they cook for long enough then it will start a endless fire until they take it off the stove so bow you have a use for those 8 bananas on your boat

What's the benefit of bunny-hopping as opposed to just jumping sideways like normal?
It can just create unpredictable movement, and bunny hopping combined with normal hopping makes the movement more smooth and quick, along with being less staggered, for example if you were only sword hopping
Amateur move: jump (press X or space)
Pro move: bunny hop (press X or space)
