I got a ticket when I had my handicapped mother in the car and I was in the doctor's office getting a Rx to renew her handicapped parking permit! Welcome to Michigan!
You deserved the ticket. Doesn’t matter who is in your illegally-parked car or what your reason was for parking illegally. Take the responsibility for parking illegally. Nobody’s fault but your own.
It shouldn't be a ticket unless a pedestrian is actually going around the vehicle from the sidewalk , in all the videos no one ever was seen walking around the vehicle ! Right judge ! Case dismissed !
If they had a city parking enforcement in my city they would make a fortune! But here in California we don’t enforce laws I don’t know why we even say we have them 🙄
as a disabled person that is against the law to keep pass hanging from mirror people don’t get it going around can flip their wheelchair or if they have a mobility aid they can fall her attitude shameful he did such a great job loved how her relative was like heck no these meter workers don’t deserve verbal abuse or anger if your in the wrong it’s simple pay the ticket
As I have mentioned many times here, even if you have "punched in the plate" it is possible to take a ticket back. Unless Detroit uses a software in their handhelds that doesn't allow the warden to delete the ticket. In Cologne, our software allowed us to delete a ticket hours after it had been tipped into our handhelds. If Detroit doesn't allow that then I, personally, don't like their attitude towards drivers. Fair enough, all 5 were blocking the sidwalk. One really did block everything off making a pedestrian walk on the street. The last woman was treated rather harsh and I would've taken her ticket back as she still left plenty room at the back of her car so everybody could walk by. Sometimes we, as wardens, walk fine lines. There are laws to apply and look after, BUT, one can, and should, leave enough room for sympathy and understand situational awareness. I didn't let my ego run my shifts. I treated all with friendliness and respect. I then recieved it back. Had many jokes along the ways and took many, many, many tickets back. I called the tow truck many a time but only when really necessary. I never lost when having to go to court but I was one of us who had the fewest court appearances. Which in itself I was rather proud of as some of my colleagues were in court literally every week. I would've loved to spend a few weeks on some US streets and soak in the atmosphere there and compare it to my home town Cologne, Germany. Ah well, it's not going to happen, so I will have to make do with watching in from afar and think to myself- what if.....? Greetings everybody 🤗
I've seen that, too. How inconsiderate of people! What if someone with a wheelchair was on the sidewalk and wanted to go by? I think if the doors are unlocked, you should be able to open then and walk thru with muddy shoes to the other door and out. Do these ignoranuses not understand the word sidewalk? I've called police on people like this.
I like your idea! Here’s something similar for you to giggle at. In front of our local high school, some kid parked by a fire hydrant and blocked it from use. As karma would have it, the house across the street had a grease fire in the kitchen so the owner called 911. The fire trucks rolled up and needed to hook to the hydrant but this car was in the way. The firemen ended up breaking the window out of the drivers door, popped the locks, opened the two back doors and run the fire hose through the car to get the hose to the fire. The kid comes out of school a few hours later and his Dad’s brand new Lincoln Expedition ($95,000 buggy) was gone. Naturally, he panicked and thought someone stole it. Haha! Even worse, the police had impounded it. Busted out window, dirt/mud/water all over in the second row of seats, the upholstery was torn on one the seats because the nozzle got caught as the firemen were trying to get the hose through to the other side … plus he got a $300 ticket that the judge made the kid pay all of … and then came the wrath of the kid’s Dad!!!!! The kid had to get a job and pay for the ticket and all of the repairs on the SUV. His Dad refused to turn it in to insurance - he was going to teach his smart aleck know-it-all kid a lesson!! That kid never drove his parents’s vehicles again!!

If the woman was really in there long enough to help someone inside and say goodbye a ticket is unnecessary
That cane doesn't have a white tip. Visually impaired has a red tip not totally blind or the tip would be white.

OMG I am British, I will pay her $20. Geez.
She's selfish! If she'd parked back a little, she'd still have been off the road and people could still have walked between the cars! 😡
