- I recently took the XDJ-RX3 to a gig. While Serato was on standby, I got through a whole night without using my laptop. Here are some of the tips I noted down if you ever wanted to try playing standalone!

I also hope we at some point se the vertical waveform and able to access our music in the center as the engine stuff does; cause I find that to be incredibly handy especially if you’ve built a larger playlist. Otherwise I’ve been happy with the rx3. Only thing is doesn’t have that it really should have had was a cue for the aux.

Are there any differences in sonic quality or fidelity (or other aspect) between internal mixing mode using Pioneer DJ software compared to the Pioneer hardware mixers (DJM's) when it comes to the EQ, filters and FX?

Something I’ve notice after using my Rx3 at about 5 gigs so far, is that on windows 10 using both serato and rekordbox if you go back and forth from software and USB the the rx3 tends to freeze up. Requiring a full restart. Most recently I was still able to use the AUX input and still the control the volume on the master out so my phone basically finished the night with tidal.

Insightful, thanks. What about capturing audio in streaming software like OBS? How do you do that on RX3? From what we see it is possible on XZ but not RX3 without an external audio interface?
I'm a laptop Serato DJ and am thinking about this XDJ-RX3 and the DDJ-1000SRT. I would love to have the option of stand-alone and all of the features that are on the DDJ-1000SRT. Currently I have the DDJ-SZ and either of the two I mentioned at the beginning would be great but I'm struggling on choosing the right one. Any suggestions or opinions that you would like to share about the XDJ-RX3 Vs. DDJ1000SRT?

Is there a way to turn off the stacked moving waveforms and just leave on the waveforms for the entire tracks? I prefer to mix with something like library mode in Serato, so that I can mix only by ear and I’m not tempted to look at the stacked waveforms.
what is the RX3 like at handling a library of exclusively AIFF files, or playlists of around 500-1000 AIFFs? I have a lot of 10+ minute AIFFs that are up to 150mb, if I make 4 playlist banks and want to jump around between them am i going to see considerable slow down or stuttering?

I am very frustrated. When I use my RX3 in Serato DJ it sounds distorted or like the music is clipping? Can you explain this? When I play in Rekordbox it does not. However, I am a Serato DJ user. Is Rekordbox analog or digital. My DDJ-Sr2 sounds much cleaner in Serato DJ. I used the RX3 this weekend & everything was great. I received a great review but it does not sound clean. My setup was 2 QSC k.12.2 with a QSC sub

I had a gig last night and my laptop wouldn’t show up! Luckily I had my usb on hand! But now I know to download Catalina or later
If you’re using USB’s do you have ur hot cues already set from rekordbox? Or do you cue as you go?
I prepare my hot cues in rekordbox, but you can set them on the RX3 as well. After you play, the hot cues will save back to the usb. If you plug them back to the laptop and open rekordbox, your library on your laptop will update the hot cues.
Hey Pri would be interesting to see how you would go about creating your sticks for a standalone gig that was open format and not have access to you Main DJ library on your laptop and any extra steps, Metadata profiles you need to set up on those sticks for searching when you are limited in standalone ect?
Is your Serato and Rekordbox library basically a mirror of each other to begin with?
Only thing is, I have no way of field testing it since I completely stopped taking open format bookings.
As far as my library goes, I keep both mirrored using Rekord Buddy.

Can you use the RX3 with a laptop, which you use Tidal to stream songs? :)
I have been researching some and seems that you need to be in export mode on most standalones to use the laptop. However when in Export mode you cannot use Tidal.
Use Performance Mode on rekordbox, or use Serato.

Anyone know where to find those low profile usb sticks? The only low profile ones I find are cheap and slow :( so I’ve been playing if of SD cards ever since I bumped my long sandisk extreme and broke my USB port.

How would you deal with taking requests if it doesn’t have steaming/WiFi capabilities?

Serato DJ Pro support was released March of last year.

Yes. The GUI of the XDJ-RX3 is similar to the CDJ-3000, with the slight difference that it shows two decks and effects.

Should I get upgrade from the ddj 1000 to rx3 or xz for mobile gigs?
xz may be tough to lug around - things is huge and heavy and thats before u toss it into a coffin for travel. RX3 for mobile DJ all the way. Especially for new screen and speed. Have mine for a few months and absolutely love it. Great piece of gear.
The rx3 could be a great device. But mine is 3 weeks old and just froze 2 days ago. Why? I didnt pay +2000 bucks for this shit!
