Good point about not overdoing the dj tricks. Might be a wankfest for a dj - but sometimes you just want to listen to the track. I learnt to mix at the age of 50 because i hated how djâs were mixing out of decent 90âs bangers because they were flexing
Yes! The channel may be filled with mixes full of tricks, but during an actual gig, you don't want to be scratching/FX-palooza-ing over every track!

Regards for you Carlo! One question - why are you letting your sound to play above 0 sound level? I'm talking about orange sound bars. I always leaving master on 0, so it would be still on green.

Hey Carlo,that was a really interesting video! Although I have a question and I would be glad if you could help me! I bought a new MacBook Pro and it has only 2 type c portsâŠFirst of all my DDJ FLX6 connects only with type AâŠbuying a USB adapter,in my opinion is dangerous because of the crowd moving maybe the bass can move the adapter and stop the music.So do I need a simple cable type B to type but why they are cheap cables and expensive ones? What cable should I Buy? Also I need 3 adapter to have a charger,the controller and the external hard disk and I still donât find it a good idea to use a usb hubâŠSo please make a video or give me an answer if itâs possible.Thanks!
Oh man, that's a bit of a pick you've got there. I've used USB hubs before, and they lock into the type C ports well, so they're not really a problem. The only other solution I have is to buy 2 cables that go from type c to type b for the FLX6, and a type c that's compatible with your hard drive, but that means you'll need to rely completely on battery power

Hard to compare, since this one has standalone capabilities while the 1000SRT doesn't. It really depends what you're looking for in the controller!

Im new to owning the RX3 after having a long break from DJing, but i dont see how you can use trans effect on your touch pad @4:45 unless you have assigned it to midi control or a setting in Recordbox? The only 'effect' ive got for that pad under slip loop/release effect tab is 'mute'

What do you use to convert the metadata from serato to rekordbox and back? Do you have a library for each?
I have the same libraries and crates for each software, but the cue points don't carry over, so I have to manually fix those.
@@djcarlo iâm surprised that most everyone does the same. Manual re-cueing, which is absolutely ludicrous. The industry is so stifling regarding the user experience. All this walled-garden BS!

Hooooo that timing though. Well, the XZ is still a pretty good beast of a machine, so you should be good with it!
I just bought a Pioneer XDJ X-Z and i love it. why do Pioneer even bother making sigle decks like the 3000 ? i just not get it. A all in one unit are much cheaper and better imo.
There are still nuances that some controllers can't recreate I'd say!

how were you able to connect rekordbox dj via performance mode. I am having issues. it only works on export mode via LINK.
Hmmm, that should be a plug and play thing. Check for the latest drivers, Rekordbox updates, and firmware! Might help solve your problems!

Unfortunately, Spotify dropped all their DJ support some time ago. But Tidal's quality is pretty good with their Rekordbox support!

They're not connected in the main video because, as with all my videos, they'll just end up adding clutter to the video. I use them only when putting the mix together :)

The laptop is off screen, but the controller also has its own built in software to make the wave forms pop up!

Producers should make 2 minutes songs seeing how now days no one lets the song play. I guess it's a style.
Okay, in fairness to that, I need to keep them short here to avoid copyright issues. The longer they play, the high the chance of a strike. These mixes aren't only meant to entertain, but to also educate.
Also, in all seriousness, 2 minute songs ARE becoming more and more common in Top 40 music nowadays

another romper mix Carlo. ngl im not the biggest fan of EDM (its my age lol) but for me i appreciate the production values of this genre. how long do you take to prep a mix like this because you smash them out for fun :) do you go for word play in your thinking or key or just whatever takes your fancy? 100% you should start producing mate! the best producers are DJs imo because they know what moves the floor. i chatted with a DJ/Producer on twitch not so long back and he said this "focus on producing if you wanna get gigs, not DJing. There is loads of rubbish DJs who get gigs because they make good music. However there's loads of great DJs who have no gigs because they don't make music"...i know you got plenty of gigs dude...its the production part i wanted to highlight. do it do it do it!!! props!!
Awww! Thanks for the kind words! My thought process depends on the content that I want to produce in my channel. Sometimes the challenge (limitation within the genre, Spotify chart, etc) goes first. Sometimes the idea (oh these songs might go well). Cheers!
