- Scroll down to âImage on jog wheelâ itâs the last option under the DECK section
From there⊠Iâm not sure what to do yet. I assume you need to have your custom artwork saved on your flash drive or whatever is plugged into the USB port.

I have a thing with the XDJ-RX3. When you have selected a song from a playlist and then go to the search function to find a song, when you after that go back to your playlist. The playlist is gone. You have to scroll manually back to your playlist.

Firstly, a huge thank you for your videos! Theyâre very helpful. Iâve got multiple questions at this stage. The one with the biggest weight: one of the most important reasons for me to upgrade (I have a RX at this moment) would be the possibility to play/mix FLAC-files. Did you test this? Does it work well? With loading times etc.?
We didnât but I see no reason why it wonât work well and the loading times over all are much faster

Sorry for noob question but how to Low Cut Echo on the RX3? I use this effect the most on my DDJ 1000.

Can you sort songs by key? Are they any key detection functions at all on this unit?
No key detection on the unit, all analysis happens in the software
I can't for the life of me figure out why they would get rid of low cut echo and add pitch or vinyl brake to the effects channel. Low cut echo seems much more useful than vinyl break, which can also be made with the job wheel, performance pads, or the play button. I also find it a bit wild that the beat jump feature on the performance pads only goes up to 8 beats instead of 16 (the typical length of a musical phrase).
On my DDJ-800 I can remap the performance pads (or any button, really) to be more to my liking. My question is, can I remap the pitch effect to instead be low cut echo, or can I remap the beat jump buttons to be a 16 beat jump instead of 8 using rekordbox? Thanks!
Not sure David! Agree re low cut echo, and beat jump - although for the latter you can of course just tap the button twice.
Can you Set the EQ (Low-Mid-High) for the beat FX in the menu?

As I get often on my xdj rx3..
Simply the file or a track work absolutely fine when used it on the software mode..
But when I use the same file analysing in my usb flash drives I face an problem of Error Code and File format not Supported...
If u really have solution for that please do let me know as it will be very helpful...
When you record to the USB is there anything on the screen to tell you how long you have been recording for?
Iâve got an RX1 and play on 3000âs at work so itâs definitely worth the upgrade for me, i love the screen
We haven't tested that, although it does have a countdown timer built in, so you could definitely use that.

I just picked up the RX3 and was wondering if there is a way to use the laptop only instead of the build in screen.
Yes there is, it works with Pioneer DJ's Rekordbox software and there is a free version available that works with the RX3.
So whatâs the shift button for? Just to hold and erase hot cues? Really wish they implemented the CDJ 3000 beat jump buttons there. The pad ones work but arenât as intuitive and donât go up to 32 bars

You can do that (I think) but itâll be a severely reduced user experience. Pretty much essential to analyse in Rekordbox

No I don't think so, I am guessing that will only work when you are using it in standalone mode.
Hi,
I have been using DDJ-1000SRT for almost 2 years and it is a fantastic set. I came from SL1200 - CDJ900 - CDJ2000Nexus - DJM900 era. I'm an event DJ (no EDM and acid mixes) and merely beat match, cue point, drop and chop mix. Sometimes a little effects, and sometimes using Serato video SL for video too. I'm thinking of upgrading to the next level - XDJ-RX3, running around without a laptop. I have a few questions below.
1) For Serato, does this mean I can place all my Serato library into a USB with cue points intact (and ditch my laptop)?
2) Related to Q1 if Serato does not support USB, the songs in the USB uses Rekordbox to analyze and cue point markers, am I right?
3) By using USB (for Serato or Rekordbox), is there a way to search songs on the large screen instantaneously just like on a laptop "search" box? I have a 1TB library
4) Beat matching is what I mostly use. I see that the RX3 screen waveform is different from Serato (probably inherited from Rekordbox). How good is the waveform matching? Is it something to get used to or need an extra effort, in your opinion?
5) Smaller jog wheels touch sensitive compared to mechanical full size (1000SRT), has anyone commented if that works equally good?
6) I compared RX2 and RX3 with just a few bump up functions and added Serato support. Natively it is still built for Rekordbox (unlike Rev7). Am I correct to say that?
7) Would you say the RX3 a DJ life changer coming from a DDJ-1000SRT user?

Q1... I have some mp4 video files ripped off CZcams that plays as a music file on the DDJ-RB perfectly fine .... does the RX3 play them the same? as on the RX3 controller it doesn't say mp4. Q2... Do i get a licence with the RX3 as i have rekordbox with the DDJ-RB so could I just add the licence so don't have to re install all my music collection? or would i need to start from scratch and re inall and re add all of my 17,000 mucic collections. You can still use Rekordbox to prepare your music. No idea if it plays MP4s, sorry.

1) Is it wise to spend the extra money for extended warranty for this unit?
2) how do you plug this to your speaker? I do have a Definitive Technology bi-polar tower speaker with built in subwoofer (4 speakers total)
3) i just plan on using this at home , would Rekord box free plan that comes with Expert and Performance modes help me as a beginner?
4) After exporting my music to my USB and plugging it to the RX3 , do i still need to hookup my Pc to the RX3?

No, you have to use performance mode.

very nice mix! But what about sound output quality ? Is it better than rx2 ? I had rhe pioneer rx2 but i wan't satisfied with the sound quality.
It is a small improvement on the RX2.

I am a mobile Dj and i play in different cafe-bars every day. I have prepared my library in rekordbox and i am thinking to buy the xdj-rx3 . I only have a dilemma. Is it to heavy for a daily mobile use ? Obviously is not too heavy if you have 2-3 gigs/month but what about a daily use? What do you think? p.s. : The xdj-rr is lightweight but seems to my eyes like a toy, for entry level Djs and not for professionals.

Yes, it will play them, but it is not advisable as you miss out on many of the DJ functions.

Not sure what you mean can you explain more clearly please?
@@digitaldjtips If you try matching up the beats visually on the display, it seems as if they're out of sync, even if you're synced up properly. Only the current beat playing will be matched properly, but all the beats before / after that is slowly drifting away. Hard to explain, but that's how it is on the RX2.

In the Browse menu, right after artist, track and key buttons there is one called "Matching" (before Rating button), by clicking on it it appears the matching menu with 2 options: deck 1 and deck 2 but when I click on one of them no tracks are displayed...how does this works? One is a standalone DJ system, one is a controller. Make that choice, rather than comparing the pieces of gear.

Here's my dilemma. Could/should I get Phase DJ for my Tech 1200? Should I get the Rane MK2, or Reloop 8000 Mk2? I'm also curious about the auxiliary on The Rx 3. Can you use it with a tablet or phone? Is there a way to cue it? Does Is it just come over channel 1 or 2 or how does it work? I'm confused about Serato Pro DJ. Serato Pro has a lot of capabilities like making cool mashups from what I've read. On the other hand I've not read anything about rekord box having such features. Does anybody know anything about this?

Not sure what you're saying. This is not a Serato controller, and it doesn't have a sample player!
Okay thanks... the question is in relation with rekordbox. In the rk settings have to change Mixer settings (External to Internal). I got no Sound by triggering a Sample Player. The workflow with the XDJ-XZ and rekordbox is a little bit different in this...
For custom artwork all you have to do is put a 800x800 jpeg on to your usb. Just go in to your usb and drop it in there.

Alot lighter I own XDJ-XZ it's getting heavy packing in and out of gigs l love it but man it's heavy as heck plus the only difference is 2 channels 4 channels it has same effects also it has the added pad effects

Why this if you can have the Denon Prime 2 for 500 bucks less? + analyzing on device + music streaming + light controlling.
It's mainly going to come down to what ecosystem you prefer
Because my goal is to start playing in clubs so I want to be as familiar as possible on pioneer. Iâm sure Denon is very similar but when I show up to a gig Iâd like to be as comfortable as possible with the equipment. Itâs a tough choice for me.
The mixer section on the Pioneer is much better. On my RX2, effects on the Pioneer sound much more professional and usable in a club environment. Cueing is better on the Pioneer. Plus, you can use Rekordbox and Serato with the Pioneer. I own both a Prime 2 and a RX2 and the latter is better built all around. The RX3 will just be better.
@@djpaceeuro just wish it had 4 channels!!! But the XZ just seems too outdated for me and I need a laptop to use 4 channels anyways?? Might as well get a 1000 over the XZ. this RX3 is really catching my attention though.
Because it's Pioneer and the RX3 is a way better looking unit than the Prime 2.
It's been a year so you may have upgraded since but I would certainly appreciate 4k video in the future.

Why does my Serato keeps crashing on my laptop ? This is Nigel weir I am a dj What should I do. I like the pioneer xdj Rx3 and I am using 3.0 serato
there can be lots of reasons for this but Serato's support on their website is a good place to start.
I'd ask the person who paid less for 2 SC5000 players... how much did your mixer cost.... did that bring the total to more?

lol i had 2 sc5000m for 800 and sold them. denon may have better featuress but as many have said if ur ACTIVE DJ that gets on a regular then stick to what ull go find at a club. its like using android cause its cheapers faster but you have to use iphone at work lol makes no sense, price isnt everything. pioneer did a great job with making their gear Industry standard
*Too many things missing:*
- Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search)
- A modern loop control section (its simply archaic)
- Censor button with Reverse as shift
- Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click
- Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4%
- Better looking waveforms and GUI
- Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent)
- Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient)
- Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing
- Full track buffering
- Key Shift / Sync
- Analyzing tracks on the fly
- Streaming / Wifi
- An additional SD slot
- Priced around $1700 instead of $2000
I stick with my Prime 4.
Key shift is the biggest one for us

Yes if you have an RX2 it will be a hard sell (though a no brainer if money was no object), like most things it's usually every 2 iterations I look at upgrading :)
