    hey ever thought about incoporating weighted band muscleups. you do your muslceup with the band. but add additional weight once you feel comfortable. to bring the move closer to a real muscleup

    • @leoncvetkovski4679
      @leoncvetkovski4679 Před 5 lety +1

      CZcamsr Disguiser nobody really does that just progress to the weakest band and then try without the band

    This is so motivating..I can do 20 wide grip pull ups 4 sets of 10 dips yet because of my shoulders limited ROM my mind has lost its vision
    A few years ago I could do 5 muscle ups in a row. My confidence has diminished ..time to try again

    I weight 220lbs and I cannot do the transition part(I can do 20 pull-ups and 40 dips). I'll try with the elastic band to see what I learn with it.

  • @wearethecreatorsofourdesti5496

    sir you did not mention one thing, which i would like to add is that, when we try to get above the bar, we should keep our elbows in a straight line and not outwards, which most probably happens when we try to do a muscle up and is not good in long run. (What view do you have about this).

    • @SchoolofCalisthenics
      @SchoolofCalisthenics  Před 5 lety +3

      Yes we'd agree that trying to keep the elbows tucked close to the body is better because it puts the head of the humerus in a better position and this means it's safer for the shoulder.

  • @philanaemic
    @philanaemic Před 5 lety +1

    I’ve just started training the muscle up using the heavy blue band. I think bands are the way to go, you can take away up to 85% of your body weight and it’s still a challenging move. But there’s no substitute for actually *doing* the move if that makes sense?

    • @SchoolofCalisthenics
      @SchoolofCalisthenics  Před 5 lety

      Yeah for sure, the bands serve a s agood progress and have their place in helping you to develop the force and velocity requirements but ultimately you have to get to a point where you don't need them and can do it with good technique. It's a fine tipping point and the key is to never let your ego get in the way so use the bands when you need them.
