Glad you are digging Particle Illusion!
Its beyond what i was expecting. The ability to chain together particle emitters in near time and render them out with alphas...and there is so much here. Its a gem. Its so fast. I can only imagine how cool this would be as a plugin. But this standalone is genius. Thanks!

WOW, I really needed this. Already downloaded and installed! Thank you for sharing & Boris Fx for making this free, you rock!!!!
Yup, really cool!
i'm excited more by you being so excited. thanks heaps for the heads-up. downloaded so will have a play myself
Super excited!
This is mind blowing. The simplicity, speed and level of realism is fantastic. Simply perfect
Its very simple, but i think it can be leveraged with adding a bit if layering.
@@CBSuper Absolutely. I was playing around with it today and I am super stoked to use it. I look forward to possibly seeing some more of this in your future videos! Love your channel
Thank you CB and thank you Boris FX! Looks jaw-droppingly simple, but that's because I haven't tried it yet - LOL. Outstanding!!!!!
Enjoy! It really is pretty simple...at least to get the particle effects going and out into Fusion, you still need to do all the other stuff, ha ha..so little bit of work still.
Thanks a million for the video....it's quite helpful. Looking forward to your next review of Boris FX.
I would like to get more Boris FX plugins and test those.
Thanks a lot, your video is one of the most attractive support for this wonderful tool, in addition, as you noted Particle it's available for free ! And it's a good way for importing into Resolve ! I've been using the Boris Continuum for couple of years, you are providing here a highly recommended basic training. Thanks again
Thanks. How do you like Continuum. Id love to test drive it one of these days and do a review. May try it when i have some free time.
OMG OMG OMG thank you :-D
This looks amazing. I need this!!!
I know right!
WOW Thank you for sharing this, Chris
You bet Chris!
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS YOUVE DONE ... MORE OF THIS ... THANKS YOU LEGEND
Welcome!
Just found this video, don't know how I missed it since I a subscriber. Awesome, just what I needed. Thanks.
You bet!
Very cool! Thanks for the heads up on this program! There is quite a few possibilities here.
So many options!
It's actually amazing how quick this program is. I'm adjusting it while it's playing in real time🤯
100% agree, i was able to bog it down with a ton of emitters, but this is crazy.
@@CBSuper now I gotta figure out some stuff to use it for🤣 look forward to a tutorial in the near future?🤔
Oh yeah. I’ll definitely be making some tutorials with this. So many ideas.
@@CBSuper look forward to it. Thanks!
thanks for the vid! very helpful
Very welcome
@@CBSuper just used it in my rap lyric video. Only a basic one, but great, thanks. I love the enthusiasm you put in the videos :))
Great. Thanks for your time!
You’re welcome Daniel!
Just can’t believe this is free!
I know, its pretty cool!
We created a ton of free online training so you can get up to speed at your own pace: borisfx.com/products/particle-illusion/#learn
Yeah, its great, going through all of it right now. Having the Forces even in the stand alone is a huge bonus!
Nice!
Yes. Pretty cool.
Sweet!
Thanks!
I love your Channel! Avid fan here😊
Yay! Thank you!
This was the first look but when you said it has its own colors if you dig deeper you can change the colors in Particle Illusion! Just downloaded it two days ago its cool
Its pretty cool
Very Cool!
I totally agree!
Thank's a lot, it's magic ! :)
You are very welcome!
Good stuff !
Thanks!
Thank you for share!
You bet Pedro.
Thanks that's Great !!
Its rad!
Hi CB Super nice video
Thanks! This program is pretty cool!
This is excellent, particularly for intros and outros.
I've made an outro using a couple of explosion effects. I found one that had a light and a dark version. Taking the light version first and the dark one second - placed almost together, but not exactly, you get a much more realistic effect.
Just 2498 to try out.........................
Ha. Just a few more.
Wow what an amazing app. Stunning performance for me (NVidia 1060 gGb) raises questions as to how DR16 is so slow with its particle s/w. I'm sure there are good reasons but from the outside in, it baffles me. Same as the amazing performance of hitfilm express. That uses the GPU at every oportunity too.
Same, i am curious as well.
Thank you so much for letting us know about this, it looks amazing. FYI for me the free emitter link doesn't download anything right now, just stays on the page but no file is downloaded. Probably just a temporary thing, I'll try again later. Thanks again!
I had to click a couple times. It seems its pretty tough to tell the difference between the original download screen and the emitter download, but hit the download again and it should look different when it downloads....it was the only hiccup I had as well.
That is absolutely tremendous! How the heck is it free you're too kind Boris! Literally too kind! Is there a way I can donate monetarily to you?
www.buymeacoffee.com/cbsuper
Does the free Version have different camera angles or is it just 2D? Can it render uncompressed tga sequences?
2d and negative on tga.
Great addon. So suppose I want to make a very subtle effect that looks like fog on a dark London street? Would this addon do that, or do these effects all look artificial?. I am going for realism here. Thanks...
Possibly, i’m still playing around with it, i’ll look into it!
@@CBSuper Thank you!
Love ur channel. I'm adobe user but like DR and Fusion a lot) But I have a question. I heard that boris FX works very bad
and inhibited with DR. Is it true and why?
I haven’t tried any of the other Boris FX plugins or programs inside DaVinci yet. I would need to get it to test it. Im not in the works to purchase them, but possibly in the future.
@@CBSuper I wish u will do that) thank you for tutorials
How did you do your intro to MRAlextech discord servor video? i want to see that tutorial!
Thats a pretty simple one. I can definitely do a video on it. I shot it on a green screen, pulled the key and roto a little to clean the matte. Then used my Glowlines tool to give it that particle look. Turned up details to the max and glow down a bit. The possibilities are endless once you have the alpha extracted.
@@CBSuper that would be great! Also already downloaded the program thank you for sharing the info!
But what if the camera is moving? Is there some way to edit it 3 dimensionally while being able to actually see the video clip, or do you need to edit it blindly in particle illusion?
Not in the free version.
@@CBSuper oh, cause i tried rotating an energy ball, but it was completely flat which is weird due to being a sphere(ball)
@@CBSuper so I'm guessing that's also a limitation on the free version?
Houdini is pretty slick, but it might take all day to render that meteor... =D
True
*HOLY SHIT*
It's pretty wild!
I found two problems which limit its use:
1. one cannot slow down animations - most are too fast
2. one usually cannot enlarge an animation to fill the HD screen without breaking it. They are made for the SD resolution.
Yup.
Hey so where are the 2500 free emitters? When I click on the download button it takes me to the same page I downloaded the standalone from....no 2500
Not sure. It changed a little when it updated to 2021 version. They may integrated already.
@@CBSuper I definitely don't have THAT many to choose from lol. Thanks for the reply though dude 🤘
What an I doing wrong if the backround won't show thru in DR?
If i was to guess, id say you didnt render with an alpha.
@@CBSuper 'Roger Tower' That was it I don't understand all this ALPHA 4444 etc. crap ... in Premiere It just did it. OH well good thing I don't have to make a living at this it's all Avout having FRUSTRATING fun. Thanks
It's just taking me in circles when I try to upload it. It wouldn't let me upload till I signed up which I did then it glitches and kicks me back to the start I click on it and it tell me to sign up. 🤦♂️ I dunno maybe too many people are trying to download it right now🤷♂️
Ok i finally got it😌
I did the exact same thing!
first, godbless and thank you
congrats and you're welcome, it's a very cool program!
Missleading title. The particle illusion is not installed as an ofx plugin inside of Davinci but as a stand alone program.
Very good point. Changed it to include Standalone. Thanks!
Is it possible to add a background plate or rendered logo or whatever to the Boris app so you can animate too or around a scene or shape?
Yes you can and I’ll show you how in my next video!
The free version is just an appetizer and not really usable. The full version costs $ 295 you should mention that ;)
"The free version is just an appetizer and not really usable." WHY????
I think the free stand alone version is pretty usable. You definitely have to do more work, but with a little creativity, I think it's gonna be really powerful.
The paid version is a plug-in for Continuum. If you are on Continuum, and you purchase the Particle Effects Plugin, you can use additional features to composite in the actual program rather than render it out and composite later. It also gives you access to the Mocha tracker in the actual Plugin...is it cool, you bet it is. But we can do a lot of that stuff with a little bit of creativity inside of the Fusion Page. Don't worry, I'll be making tutorials on all that. It's totally usable and it's all completely free.
HoundDogMech please look at the comparison table. The lack of the „Direct Compositing on Source“ feature is the most problematic in my opinion.
Yes, i agree, it would be great to directly composite in the program, but we can jump back in to DaVinci and do it there. Not idea, but free. I would definitely like to get my hand on Continuum and see how much better the plugin is, but that's probably unlikely to happen at this time. I would also love to have had the MOCHA tracker inside the program as it would be tough to track in an emitter and have it emit live/vs using a tracker and have it pre-rendered. But again, its free, so I'm not too disgruntled.
No longer available for free, this can be understood, but considering the price, I have to highlight the poor support, most of the training are more than 3 years old, not supporting the latest software design and facilities, most of them are more marketing support than user friendly tutos. No technical dataes book impossible to know the impact of each parameters and how they are interacting all together. Unacceptable for a paid version
I wonder if they’ve sorta given up on the app. This is a pretty old video and it was neat to use when it was free, but not something i could see paying for unless i really needed particles on a regular basis.
So this software and all effects that should cost a lot of money is free, and all I have to do is give them my email, name and phone number? Makes me wonder what they'll do with my info that is so valuable to them that it covers the cost of the software. I think I'll pass.
Cool.
