STUDY & FOCUS - Overcoming Anxiety - Mental Health Counseling Grad Student (60 Minutes - No Music)

  • Study with me - designed for people with chronic anxiety or anxiety disorders. Four short (12 minute) pomodoro sessions with 3 minute chat breaks in between to reset, relax, and re-focus ... even while anxious. There's no music. Just room sounds during the study/focus sessions.

    Use this video to practice sitting quietly and focusing on a task while feeling anxious or agitated. You cant do it wrong. Just do the best you can. Pause the video if you need to. Take more frequent breaks if you need to. Be kind to yourself while you work on this anxiety recovery skill.
    I am (as of 2023) a second year masters degree student in clinical mental health counseling and a therapist-in-training in New York. Study with me while I finish a final paper for a trauma and crisis counseling class. I'll give you some details in the chat breaks.

      Okay, Im a licensed therapist but I find these type of videos relaxing.. are you open to doing some without the talking in between? Like, just a study with me video where the whole time is just quiet, typing, paper sounds? It's relaxing, it's great to stay focused when doing a task too. Good luck also with your studies!!

    Please please take into consideration to learn about the suffering of those who have tried to come off or reinstated improperly back on antidepressants without help and what they can do to outside of more psychotropic drugs. Thank you

      I lived that experience myself and have talked about that. Episodes 145, 146 and 147 of my podcast. As for what to do outside of medication, kind of everything I talk and write about is in one way or another about "what to do". That experience can be REALLY hard for many for sure. You'll just find that I tend to not talk about other things to swallow or treating this is a body issue. My approach is cognitive and behavioral, even when that gets scaled WAY back during the medication discontinuation process. I hope that helps. Hang in there. xx
