since so long i had question in my mind i.e In mac air M2. it doesn't give allow to create any folder for MongoDB (/data/db) reason it says your file is read only so we can't make any change in those folder so what should we suppose to do

with base model of mba m2 8gb, for backend developer is it worht it ? daily using java + springboot, queue, docker, and sometimes nodejs....but i also learn flutter and devsec ops in my leisure time ? or should i use m2 pro with cooling system

Hi, I have windows Desktop and I am learning gamedev, my pc spec is amd ryzen 5 5600x and rtx 3060, 16gb ram and 500gb ssd also i have mac book air m1 2020 given by company, my question is shall i buy macbook pro m2 pro (inr 2lakh) for my game dev? the reason why I was looking to buy is portability I can carry my mac and learn code from anywhere however if i stick to desktop i have to sit on same place and code what are your views?

If you have a lot of multitasking so better go in 16 gb variant. Better safe than sorry
Hello, is 16/512 m2 air good for flutter? Any issues of laptop heating? Should I go for 16/512 m2 pro? I love new design of air but pro has a fan for cooling. I want something for the long term and for my primary freelance requirements. Both have almost the same price.

You should not use the docker desktop, instead go with portainer ;)
3 days back i bought macbook air m2 512 gb, from day 1 while charing laptop im feeling uncomfotable level of minor shocks on laptop body. Do you feel same?
Check your house electrical wiring earthing with electrician
@@shivavemula5300 I have other metal laptops which do not have this issue. Also to update you now i have become adaptive to this uncomfortable minor shocks...Its still there but not like when it was brand new..

Note: Specifically for M2 devices, avoid the 256 gb variant as it is half the speed of even the M1 machines. Choose 512 or more for M2 devices. This can be helpful for longterm use as faster SSD can alleviate limited RAM swap usage after a few years.

I am using m2 256 gb. I don’t feel any performance difference because of slow sad.
I am using m2 16gb 256gb it works really good
not sure what coding I'll ever do that would need > 1600Mbytes/s write of the "slower" nvme speed.
I backed off from 512gb variant due to it's higher cost,
How's M1 air in 2023 considering there's not much performance difference, but it's almost 3y'old now' but getting it for 73k deal seems good.

256 is very less hope future updates may not ruin its performance.. i have 2 tb internal in omen still feela its very less for me.😅😂

So, my question to the users of M2 Air is "Is this device (8GB/512GB variant) capable of handling small to medium web + app development works"? I have a budget limitation so I'm looking forward to buying the base variant. Please leave your suggestions from real life experience. I'd really appreciate the help.

Hey Adnan, hope you’re doing well. Please do not buy the 8gb/256gb model in M2 Air as it has just one Nand chip which is even slower than the 8gb/256gb M1 air. Basically the read/write speed is much slower which will eventually drain your ram. Go with the 8gb/512gb it’s sufficient to do small to medium projects, can even handle the bigger tasks but just needs a bit more time than the pro models. Happy coding 🎉
