Well I've seen quite a few university micro-forums (in terms of ratemyprof comment sections, subreddits, or discord servers) where all people do is talk about professors and how to get them to take you as their grad students or into their labs.
So this isn't really that unthinkable. If you can get "Prof X is a bit of a sexist, likes girls with initiatives, and hates it when you use acronyms" in universities, you can probably find something comparable about a world-renowned specialist who saves people's lives from otherwise unthinkably difficult medical cases.

A seizure is going to happen and if happens on the road the liability is huge. She could kill someone. I work in a field(security) where my own career is stunted by the fact I have an illness I can't cure(even though its considered in remission). It's hard to accept, but you have too. Those guidelines are in place for a reason. In my case I can't be approved to carry a gun on the job...that limits me from most supervisory positions. I know a lot of college students who are going to commission, but to get medically cleared they had to "not tell the whole truth" about things like surgery, emotions, mental subjects that would otherwise keep them from getting into the military. That is one of the many reasons why military soldiers are Messed Up while in and out of the military.
