- I was being guided by some kids to climb the walls of Amer Fort, when some big dude came along and started demanding money for nothing.

The big kid came from the same area as them. Just so happened to be just before the big kid showed up. Idk I think this was a complete scam from all of them that failed.

Why are you in Jaipur at this time?! This is the worst time to be here. For anyone who is thinking of visiting Jaipur, May-June is the worst time for that because of the terrible heat. I'd suggest coming here anytime b/w mid-July-November or February-early April.

So it depends if you're cool with the cold, i think you'll be fine. Jaipur's winters are, indeed, bone-aching, but we've gotten used to it.

Close to 30 years ago now but we were driving thru Udaipur and stopped by a roadside stand. A young boy came up to the car window and was playing some string instrument. I had a 2 rupee coin so I handed it to him. He looked at it and was scratching at the number 2. I looked at him and I held up 2 fingers and said "do". Kid got the biggest smile on his face. He'd probably never gotten more than 1 rupee in his life. You learn empathy in India. People are genuinely poor.

Watch the full video, the kids were in on it and were telling him how much to ask for, they didn't want you to give the eldest one money because they wanted it themselves. They usually work together. The kids were also swearing at and hitting eachother saying not to ask for such a little amount of money. The 5 kids which helped you do seem nicer but were doing it for money ever since you met them.

If I was you, I’d take someone with me just to be safe and careful. Sometimes you can’t trust these scammers and they will try to harm you if they don’t get their ‘money’. Tbh it ain’t worth the hassle. Fortunately most of these scammers have been arrested for harassment towards tourists.
