Avoid this SCAM Pharmacy in Indonesia đźđ©

- The last place that you'd think would try to scam you would be a pharmacy in a non-touristic area, right?
All medication in Indonesia is stamped with it's retail price. However this pharmacy in Sumatra has a policy of charging foreigners more than double. The medication I asked for was 22,000 for Locals and 50,000 for foreigners apparently.
The way to deal with such unscrupulous behaviour is to walk away and find an honest business to give your money to. Sometimes it may not seem like a big deal when you know you're being ripped off for a couple of bucks but if you willingly allow yourself to be scammed then you're just encouraging the scammers and making it harder for the next potential victim. Next it will be 3x the price, then 4x, and more as long as they can get away with this kind of behaviour.
But a better way is to put them on CZcams and expose their terrible practices to the world.

You are a really good person!
Hello Catherine!!! Your nice
I really like your speaking style, it makes me laugh, I'm excited to keep vlog in Indonesia, brođđ
She isn't a pharmacist, she's a storekeeper.
She said HET, which means the highest retail price. So, basically she's not legally allowed to charge over than 22k. She just made that up.
Het = Harga Eceran Tertinggi (highest retail price)
No such thing. Stores can charge anything they want. HET is a guideline, not the law. In some countries it's called RRP, Recommended Retail Price.
@@TheAngusGao no theres maximum threshold like in india, theres mrp, maximum retail price
@@TheAngusGao there's maximum retail price ffs you clearly don't know about the laws
â@@Kelvinjh0419 There absolutely is such a thing but in some instances they can circumvent it. For example if you buy cigarettes at a bar, they can open the package and give you matches along with it, then you also have to pay for the extra service
the price tag at the package is usually the HET (Harga Eceran Tertinggi) which means "Highest Sale Price", pharmacy can sell it lower also, but most of them will sell it around the HET. It is completely a scam when pharmacist sell it way off from the HET price.
Thanks Galuh
Guess you belongs to the same nation as well ...
Every county have such a people to over charge specifically when u don't have any idea anout price. Usually i have been over charged by motor bike repair shop in Malaysia
yes. in India it's called MRP (maximum retail price)
And what funny is, when the lady with the helmet confront her about the outrageous price, the scammer says "No, the 22 is the HET. It is the HET. "
Well, the HET is the price... So...
Her Coughing on the medicine disgusted me.
I'm happy he found a store that treated him good and not get ripped off. Althought, He also just walked in and did not wait for the girl to finish helping the elder. You can see that there is a transaction going on with all those medications the elder needed. The elder also gave the look and energy of "I'm being helped right now, can you wait?"
Yeah man, I noticed it too...
faxxxx
@John Hero I agree. I usually complain about this in Asia and then I saw him doing it đ€Šđ€Š
@Bill Blaze That doesnât give him the right to interrupt the elderly ladyâs requests from the pharmacist. Culturally, itâs disrespectful across the region. If the same were to happen in any Western country, he would be labelled as being inconsiderate.
Yeah, adds to the ugly tourist image
I'm Indonesian and I never bought medicine at that kinda place, I usually go to Kimia Farma or 24 something
Tapi di kampung yaitu biasa mas. Tidak ada Kimia yang banyak.
itu di kota kecil pulau samosir, tidak ada itu kimia farma seperti di kota besar
Yeah, just go to Indomaret or Alfamart if available
Yang pertama lebih mirip toko kelontong dibanding normalnyađ
